Domestic court starts new program to help kids caught up in divorces

And something we've talked about is just that parents can easily get wrapped up in the stress and the hurt and the conflict happening between them and their partner and forget or just not have the fullest awareness of how much their kid is being impacted 0 to 18. And so the goal of my role is to, if I get to meet with the kids themselves, give them opportunities to express themselves emotionally, make sure that kids understand that this isn't their fault, that their parents are separating, equip parents with language to explain why they're separating, that mom and dad, we're going to be better parents and people by not being together anymore and that's not your fault.
