Gerard and Fleetwood reaction after both carding impressive 2nd round 67 at Royal Birkdale

Conditions today were definitely a little bit tougher from the start. Felt like early in the round yesterday I had a bit of an opportunity to get some of the first holes in a different wind direction than we had later in the day and that was not the case early so I felt like from from the get-go just kind of really was in grind mode. Hit a couple wayward shots, hit a couple good recovery shots but did a really good job of just kind of staying focused and in my kind of little bubble for the majority of the day and yeah I hit a lot of good putts. Was fortunate to make a couple bonus ones but made a lot of those three to six footers that you know kind of keep keep the round going in a good way so I don't know overall a lot of good things. Yeah I think you know you always want to play majors play as at the highest level possible and that's this golf tournament so I felt you know good about my game felt good about kind of everything that I've done as a stepping stone to get to this year and then once this year started just getting in all four majors having opportunities playing well but going out and taking advantage of the times that you do get the opportunity to play play good golf so you know I felt confident coming into this week felt like I played better than I finished last week and I'm just trying to ride some positive momentum but just enjoy it I mean this is so much fun I love doing this I love playing golf but love competing and this is this one of the best places that you could do it at. Yeah I played better still like you know you're not gonna go from really struggling but I hit you know a lot more good shots I felt a lot more in control and then it's funny really like towards the end like two good shots on 13 and then like 14 and definitely by the time I got to 17 and 18 I was I was like flowing quite a little bit so that was that was a really nice feeling like late on in the evening with a great atmosphere and to sort of get it going and hit some good shots towards the end. Yeah they're they're unbelievable they really are and they've been an absolute pleasure to play in front of so far for these two days I love that I gave them some good golf there and something to cheer about and you know 100% I you know they make they make a big difference to me I think they they helped me so much yesterday when I was struggling and today like I you know I really love playing in front of them and you can't ask for any more than what they're giving me.
