AI GeneratedThe narrator documents a solo hiking trip to Lake Sorapis in the Dolomites, Italy. Starting from Passo Tre Croci, they complete an 8-mile round trip with 600 meters of elevation gain. Despite the crowds and heat, the narrator finds the lake's vibrant blue water breathtaking and concludes the journey by sharing their subsequent 50-mile trek and camper van road trip through the region.
Okay, good to go. So this is the view right outside my hotel. How beautiful is this?
My hotel there. What a day. So we have a 10 minute drive to the trailhead. It is
5.58. I'm two minutes early. I plan to leave at six. Amazing. Still getting used to this car.
So I've just set off and today I'm doing an eight mile out and back up to Lake Sorapus,
which is one of like the most famous lakes in the Dolomites. I've seen it on my Instagram
for years. I actually always called it Sorapus until last night. And I saw a TikTok saying
Sorapus. So now I'm saying Sorapus. But I'm starting from Passo Trecrocki. I think I'm
saying that right, which is a mountain pass just outside of Misurina. Just took me 10 minutes drive
from my hotel, but I got there at 6.15 and it was already getting busy. There's already people
ahead of me, behind me at 6.15. So get out early for this one. I wish I'd set off maybe like half
an hour earlier than this, but I'm happy. Eight miles out and back. It's about 600 meters elevation.
It's going to be fun. So nice, those views. So I've managed to lose people, which is lovely.
And now it's just me. Do you know what's so nice is because of the scenery and the trees and the
views and the weather, I kind of feel like I'm in Canada, but I don't have to worry every time
I pass the corner that I'm going to find a bear. And I actually had this backpack in Canada. So I
feel like I've got like nostalgia or something. It's giving Canada vibes without bear attack vibes,
which I'm totally here for. So I'm two miles in, 40 minutes, and so far it's just been pretty
like undulating, but nothing too steep. Mostly just kind of through the forest and now on this
like cliff side path. Oh my god, wow. I just like spotted some huge mountain peaks just
everywhere, I guess. That's my power bank. It's hot already, it's so hot. I don't think you can tell
from the camera how steep this is. I just sat down for a breather, but I'm being attacked by bugs.
And I've sat down and I can see red ants everywhere. So that was short lived. It's warm. I've not had
any caffeine or any food and there's no breeze up here. It's a little bit hot, but that's okay.
I would love nothing more though to be able to swim in this lake when I get to it, and you're
not allowed to swim. It's prohibited. But that would be the absolute dream day for me right now.
But how are we doing? We have one mile to go. Just a mile. Let's do it. Oh my god.
I wish you could see the layers, like wow.
I've done all the blue and I have this tiny green bit left. I'm so close. Yay. I think I've made it.
Look at that water. That is insane. Coming on finally here after seeing it online for so many
years and it did not disappoint. It's actually exceeded my expectations. Like the water is this
blue in real life. No filter, no edits. It's absolutely insane. Also that is the busy,
busy shoreline. And that was me setting off at 6am. So if you want this place quieter,
I'd set off at like honestly 4 or something. It's worth it. I just, I'm so sad I can't swim.
I don't want to swim. Also someone just got engaged. Love that for her. If you come here when you first
get to the lake, it is rammed and everyone's trying to take pictures there. But climb higher
or like walk around to the other sides of the lake. And there's so many, so many cute photo
ops. I'm just gonna sit here and enjoy it for a bit. I kind of wish I bought my book. I would
have just like laid here for a while. But I've taken plenty of pictures. I'm gonna just sit and
enjoy it for a while. Well, I'm heading down. Got there at 8.40 and it's 10am. I had like an
hour and 20 minutes there, which was so nice. But it just got steadily and steadily busier.
It is now heaving with people. Even just saw a mountain rescue helicopter land and pick someone
up because it's just, it's hot today and this is like a difficult trail if you're not used to it
or if you're not prepared, I guess. But yeah, had a lovely time. Hey little spider.
So cool. Well, I'm done. Five hours and seven minutes. Bearing in mind I spent one hour 20 at
the lake. That's not bad going. Eight miles, 8.08 miles and an amazing day. How many elevation have
I done? Um, it's around the 600 meter mark that I was expecting, I guess. But yeah. Oh my god,
I'm so aching. I'm going back to my hotel and having a cold shower. Well, I did go back to
my hotel and have a lovely cold shower. And then I hiked 50 miles through the Dolomites over five
days on a hut to hut hike. And now I picked up a camper van and I'm about to drive this around
the Dolomites for another five days. So a lot has happened since that video. I forgot to film an
ending to it. So I thought I'd film that now because I've just been sat here editing it while
I'm on my road trip. That's the dedication that is, that is here now that I'm finally back on
YouTube. And I'm so happy to be back on YouTube. I've really, really enjoyed filming it and editing
it. So I hope you enjoyed watching it and thank you for watching. It would mean so much if you
could subscribe to my channel. I've got some other videos coming out from the Dolomites. I filmed my
entire 50 mile trek that I did. So I'll be sharing that. I'm going to film most of my road trip as
well. So I can show you what I got up to on this exciting little adventure. I've been out all
morning, but these are currently my views for the rest of today. So yeah, I'm going to carry on
enjoying my trip, but thank you for watching. Again, means a lot. Please subscribe. Let me know
in the comments, anything that you want to tell me, any questions that you have, and I guess I'll
see you next time. I'll see you as I'm starting a 50 mile hut to hut trek through the Dolomites.
That'll be my next video. So see you then.
