President Donald Trump has bragging rights over Conor McGregor after new UFC viewership
numbers came out.
McGregor's return fight at UFC 329 drew 15.9 million viewers across the U.S. and Latin
America on July 11, according to figures released by Paramount.
That comes after McGregor ended a five-year absence from the Octagon, only for his comeback
to fall short of expectations.
The 37-year-old suffered a knee injury and was stopped just 69 seconds into his bout
against Max Holloway.
Even so, the event set new viewership marks for the promotion, continuing a strong run
for the organization throughout 2026.
Despite the record numbers, UFC 329 still finished behind the UFC event held on the
South Lawn of the White House on June 14.
That card totaled 17 million viewers, about 1 million more than McGregor's return fight.
The White House event also topped average viewership in both categories tracked.
It averaged 8.2 million viewers across the U.S. and Latin America combined, compared
to 6.5 million for UFC 329, and it averaged 7 million viewers in the U.S. alone, compared
to 6.1 million.
McGregor's fight did outperform the White House card in one measure, peak concurrent
streams.
UFC 329 hit 8.3 million concurrent streams, compared to 7.9 million for the White House
event.
That places McGregor's return fight second in Paramount Plus history for concurrent viewership
of a live event trailing only Super Bowl 58 between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas
City Chiefs.
The White House card ranks third on that same list, with a peak of just over 7.9 million
concurrent streams.
The White House event featured 14 fighters on its card, and was widely seen as one of
the most notable events of the year for the promotion.
Despite the strong viewership, it did not receive recognition in the Mid-Year MMA Awards.
UFC 327 was instead named the standout event for fight quality so far in 2026, earning
50% of the vote.
Paramount reported the figures on Thursday, calling it another record-breaking night for
the platform, even as it fell just short of the White House event's total audience
across both regions tracked.
