Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video highlights key performances from a golf tournament at Gleneagles, featuring impressive rounds from several players. The coverage focuses on technical skill, recovery shots, and the standout performance of Cameron Percy, who leads the field with a 63 after a dominant display of driving and putting.
Monty trying to respond at the second.
Very nice, good chance to get his shot dropped at the first back there.
Opening tee shot from Hymenath and good check.
And nothing much wrong with the approach either.
It was a beast.
Look at Arnie Els' soft hands here as he plays this chip down the green, his third.
This is for Eagle.
Excellent.
Zach Johnson, third at 18.
Up and down for 67.
That's a wonderful bunker shot.
Played that absolutely magnificently.
Yeah, well done.
Lovely up and down.
Still got the golden chipping touch, hasn't he?
Fine 65 for Mr. Els.
Yeah, so many quirks to it.
The blind third hole.
I was delighted to see that.
I thought that was a bit of a leveller.
No one knows where the pin is or where you're going.
Stevie, well he's got a nice history at Glen Eagles.
Pops that one in.
A very welcome par four.
And he keeps this glorious run going.
So four at the last.
We'll see him home in 29 and see him round in 64.
Likes to play a draw right at the TV tower with a draw.
Use slope and spin to get it close.
Just like that.
Back in the shadows there.
That's Robert Carlson.
Quite satisfactory.
Carlson in a horrible spot.
Ball way above his feet.
Sitting in the grass as well.
It's awful.
Did well.
Excellent escape there from a nasty position for Kjeldsen.
Jimenez.
Chance to get two under on eight.
Go, go, go.
Oh, beautiful.
Mr. Jimenez.
Excellent card there.
All threes and fours.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Well.
Thanks.
That answers the question.
Settle.
Excellent stuff.
Co-commentator Anthony Wall.
Two over par.
Oh, wouldn't this go down a treat.
He's been having a lot of back trouble.
He wasn't actually sure that he would play.
He's going to carry on now though.
What an eagle Wally.
Yes, please.
Got his boy on the bag.
Brilliant stuff.
KJ Choi.
14th tee.
Here it comes.
Excellent.
Again, Lee.
16th.
Double par, Paul.
Good day.
Looks like a good line.
Oh, it's beautiful.
It's not a one, is it?
What a shot.
That's much more like it.
Very nearly in for a one from Monty.
Left or right for Perez.
Getting the job done there.
He's burned the edge of the hole on a few occasions on the back nine.
He'd just come off a bogey, 13.
This was his tee shot at the drivable par 4, 14th.
Down through the valley, right into the heart of the green.
He wouldn't make the eagle two.
But a birdie put him in good shape.
Six under.
Two fine shots.
Found the par 5, 18th in two.
From 45 feet, the putt for an eagle.
And cozyed nicely up to the hole side.
So a wonderful round of golf from Cameron Pearcey of Australia.
Eight birdies in there and one drop shot.
It all adds up to a round of 63, which is good enough to give him a handsome lead.
Cameron Pearcey, it's been his day for sure.
Seven under par, 63.
Amazing with a drop shot in there.
That came at 13.
But it's only a lead of one and over 40 players in the rate.
Cameron, many congratulations on a terrific round of seven under par, 63.
Eight birdies in the round in total.
Did you do anything particularly well or everything very well?
I drove it really good, which you have to here.
I only hit in the rough once, so that was really nice.
And then it seemed to have really good numbers.
And I got to stop him pretty close to the hole.
And I made a couple of putts in the par 5s, the two-parter for birdie,
and the short par 4 I drove.
So that sort of helped pretty much.
Fifth in this championship on debut last year.
How much do we look forward to coming back and playing,
particularly here at Gleneagles?
Yeah, I mean, Sunnydale was incredible last year.
And then I just love playing Lynx golf over here.
It's brilliant.
So yeah, anytime I can come over here and play golf, I'm very happy.
Fifth in your last start, just a couple of weeks ago,
were you coming in here thinking, yeah, I fancy my chances?
I don't know.
I've never been here before.
But I found something late in the practice round yesterday.
The last four holes, I hit it really nicely.
And then I did it again today.
So hopefully, I can keep doing that and I'll be OK.
Great playing so far.
Well done.
Thank you very much.
