The Perfect Affordable Capsule Wardrobe

This rail right here contains the best affordable option for every wardrobe essential. These are all items that I've personally tested and I've worn them for years and I still rate them as being the best out there for the price. So if you want to build a strong foundation for your wardrobe without spending a fortune then this video is for you. For reference, I'm six foot, I've got a 30 inch waist and I weigh around 78 kilos and everything from this rail will be linked down in the description box. But let's get right into it. So starting off with t-shirts, I've got a regular fitting t-shirt and a crop tee for those of you who like a shorter length and I still really rate for a regular fitting t-shirt the Uniqlo Supima Cotton Tee. Is it as good as it once was and as affordable as it once was? No it's not but I still think it's a great t-shirt and I wear this t-shirt just as much as some other t-shirts that I've spent 70 or 80 pounds on. I really like this t-shirt. It's got a medium weight to it. You can easily wear it tucked in and untucked and it looks great in both ways and also it doesn't have a bound collar. However, the collar holds up really well. You don't have any, what's the word I'm looking for? Not shrinkage, trivilage. Like a piece of bacon. I hate it when collars go all out of shape and horrible. This one doesn't do that. So it's a really great fitting t-shirt Supima Cotton with a great collar that holds its shape really well. I wear these in a size medium but you could size down if you want them even more fitted but yeah that's the regular t-shirt. Let's move on to the Crop Tee next. So this is the Classic Polish Crop Tee from Abercrombie and this is a more recent pickup and I really love the fit of it and the feel of it. I think it's great. It is called a heavyweight t-shirt but it's not so thick where you couldn't wear it in the warmer weather so you can wear this year-round no problem. The other thing I really like about this t-shirt is it does have a bound collar and I love a bound collar because you know it's going to hold its shape. It's a it's like a reinforced collar basically. So I really like that about this t-shirt. The length is perfect if you're looking for a crop tee. It doesn't get much better than this in my opinion when it comes to the cut and the length. The other thing I really like about this is a lot of crop tees they have really massive oversized sleeves. Not this one. The sleeves are a regular fit which I prefer personally. If you do want one with wider or longer sleeves then they also do their premium regular crop tee and that does have longer sleeves. So I'll link that in the description box as well but this has my vote for the best crop tee for the price out there. Staying up top with lightweight stuff we have tank tops next and if you've been following my channel for a while you've probably heard me talk about this already but this is the COS slim ribbed tank top and I absolutely love this. I wear it all the time. I'm wearing it right now underneath this shirt but the quality for the price is incredible in my opinion. I think they are £17. I think they were £16 not that long ago. So they've whacked up the prices a pound but it's still a great price. It's made out of organic cotton. It's thick. The only downside is it might be a little bit too thick sometimes for the really hot days but I like to wear something a bit lighter weight on top so a lightweight breathable shirt if I'm wearing this underneath but yeah they come in different colours. The collar's really nice and thick. It doesn't sit too low down as well which I hate tank tops where they kind of sit really low down and you can see a lot of your chest. I don't like that. I think they're the perfect fit basically. I pick this up in a size medium. Sometimes I have to size down with my tank tops because I like a snug fit but as this is a slim fit you don't have to do that. So if you haven't tried these out yet and you're looking for a tank top I'd highly recommend these. So next up we've got a shirt and this was quite a hard decision and I know you're looking at it and you can see the little horse there and thinking well Ralph Lauren, Lauren I said that so weird because we always say Ralph Lauren in the UK and loads of people online always kick up a stink that we call it that and not Ralph Lauren that's why I just said it very weirdly because I was trying to do both of them at the same time but anyway you're not here for that but yeah this shirt if you buy it from Ralph Lauren it is quite expensive in store so don't buy it from there but where you can get this shirt for an absolute steal and they've got loads of them is TK Maxx or TJ Maxx depending on where you are in the world but I picked this up for, I don't know, below 50 pounds I think it might have even been like 40 pounds, 30, 40 pounds I'm not 100% sure but you can pick them up for an absolute steal and the quality is really nice you can wear this as a smart shirt or open for a really casual look as well so for the quality and for a brand like Ralph Lauren and getting it for that kind of price and how versatile like a white Oxford shirt is I think this is probably your best bet there's so many shirts out there though so this is just my pick so next up let's do a hoodie it's a lovely hot summer's day it's 30 degrees outside so what better weather to talk about a hoodie I'm already boiling in this so I'm not looking forward to putting this on for the b-roll but it's got to be done for the tube that's YouTube just in case you didn't know but anyway this hoodie is the weekday boxy fit hoodie even though in my opinion it's got a pretty regular fit but I've got hoodies that cost me over 300 pounds and this is not to flex this is just to drill my point home but I choose this hoodie over those 300 pound hoodies or I've got 100 pound hoodies I choose this over them every time because I love the fit I love the way it looks and it just sits really nicely on me I've gone for a zip up hoodie because I think they're more versatile and I like the look they give off but they do have a relaxed hoodie which I think is the same that doesn't have the zip so if you don't like a zip go for that but I do love a zipper even when you just do it up the zip detail just adds a little bit of spice to an outfit which I like yeah it's held up really well I've had this for about maybe two years now and I've worn it to death so it's a great hoodie I absolutely love this piece and I don't know where I'd be without it in the cooler weather if I didn't have it in my wardrobe and for those of you who can't get weekday where you live then I would also recommend the cropped hoodie from Abercrombie I love this hoodie as well I wear this one all the time if I had to choose between the two I'd go for the weekday one just because it's got a more regular and timeless fit but for a crop fit and if you're shorter than me then this might be a great option but it's about 60 to 65 pounds something like that but you can often find it in the sale the quality is really nice I don't know if I said it's soft already but it is very soft did I say it's got a two-way zipper? if not it's got a two-way zipper but a great hoodie that I wear all the time and this is in the wash black colorway but it comes in plenty of other colors if you don't like cropped hoodies or you don't want to zip hoodie again Abercrombie's got loads of hoodies and I would recommend pretty much all of them I do think they're great for the price so yeah check them out if you haven't already so moving on to jackets and the first one that came to mind for me when I thought about affordable jackets that look great is the Uniqlo utility jacket I think this is like 69 pounds and for that price you're getting a lot in my opinion the cut's beautiful on it it's got enough pockets in it it's got too many pockets for me I never use those that amount of pockets it's got inside lining like a barber jacket it's also got a cord collar which I absolutely love like a barber jacket this is probably based on the spay jacket or the transport jacket from barber and the fit's very similar so yeah you're getting a lot for your money with this jacket but I got it in a size medium it's got a zip fastener and a button fastener and I've worn this a lot I've got this in green as well and it comes in a beige as well I think but if you haven't got this jacket yet then I do think you're missing out it's a great jacket for a great price so this was an easy decision an easy decision that's better now I've got to apologize here because this denim jacket is not affordable this is from RRL and it costs me over 200 pounds so it's expensive but I don't actually have an affordable denim jacket but I'm going to tell you about one so in my opinion I know it's a bit of a cop-out but if you want to save money and get something decent when it comes to denim jackets just go secondhand and get one from Levi's there's so many of them in every vintage store so just shop there so we're moving on to some bottoms next and I've got jeans, trousers, track pants and shorts so I've got everything but when it comes to jeans I've chosen the Wrangler 13 MWZs so the cowboy cuts basically but you can pick these up anywhere from about 25 quid all the way up to 60 pounds so 25 pounds if you're getting these for that I think that's an absolute steal these do fit true to size in my opinion and these are a 30 30 I wanted them a bit shorter but I kind of wish I got them in a 30 32 but either way they're going to be tough to beat for the price when it comes to trousers this is the question I get asked the most and what kind of inspired me to do this video but everyone needs a pair of black smart trousers that you can wear casually in their wardrobe in my opinion and for this category I've gone for the Uniqlo wide pleated pants and these cost 39 pounds and they went viral for a reason they suit so many different styles you can wear them for so many different occasions the only downside with them is they are a poly cotton blend which isn't great and I'd rather they weren't but everything else about them ticks all the boxes but yeah if you haven't got these already you probably have but if you don't and you're looking for a trouser that does it all get these so let's do weirdly my favorite pair of trousers at the moment I live in these and these are the adidas firebird track pants they're really basic you probably had a pair when you were a kid but I absolutely love them at the moment they're so comfortable they go with everything I know people don't like them with everything but I do and I'm just dressing very casually at the moment it's probably because the weather's warmer but on those cooler summer days I just want to be comfortable so I just throw on a t-shirt throw these on and a pair of sneakers and I'm good to go or a pair of mules they've got an elasticated waist I pick these up in a size medium they fit me great the other pair that I might pick up soon but they are trending at the moment is the adidas adi brakes but the pair that I want are they've got the poppers at the side but they haven't got the white detail you'll see them on screen now the pair that I do want but they're kind of similar to this anyway so I'm not sure if it's worth me getting another pair but I wear them so much I might anyway you didn't come here to listen to me have my inner thought process about buying some more it is summer after all so let's do some shorts and if you watched my last video you'll probably know what I'm going to say here but these are the six inch pull-on shorts from Abercrombie the pair that I've got here are their seersucker version and I think the six inch length is really flattering it's a really versatile length and these shorts you can dress them up you can dress them down and they're just a great pair of shorts for a great price they're also one of the most comfortable pairs of shorts that I've got I think they give off a much more expensive look than they are but yeah if you haven't tried these out yet like everything else here highly recommend them you might have thought that I've forgotten about sneakers I haven't they're down here but let me just get them I think you know what I'm going to choose don't you I've got two pairs of sneakers because I couldn't decide which ones to put in I love them both but for summer shoes the Vans authentic in the off-white colorway you can't go wrong they go with everything you can get them in the sale for like 30 quid retail I think these were about 65 pounds so compared to all the other sneakers out there these are a great price and for how versatile they are you I don't know I just can't live without these in my wardrobe well technically I can but it makes getting dressed a lot easier in the summer with these I absolutely love them come on name a sneaker that is more versatile more classic and better looking than this for this price out there even at higher prices I don't think there is one the Converse Chuck 70 my favorite sneaker of all time they hold up great for me I wear them with everything I love this shoe and I think I always will they cost 80 pounds these days which is more expensive but everything's more expensive now but I still think for the amount of wear and the amount of options these give you with outfits if that makes sense I think you're getting a lot for your money and if you want a little bit of bling then why not choose a Casio watch they're an absolute classic the one I've got here is the A700 and this is listed as a women's watch but it's unisex and I don't really care about all that sort of stuff anyway but I got it in silver you can also get it in gold and yeah you can dress this up it looks really smart you can dress it down and you can wear it daily and you don't have to worry about it getting bashed up that much because it only cost 30 pounds that's not me saying be careless with it but some watches out there you spend a fortune and you're just constantly worrying about it you don't have to do that with this
