Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe speaker is relocating mid-sized feeder pigs from the home base to a new, dedicated property. This move aims to separate the grower operation from the breeding area to reduce environmental impact and create space for expanding the sow herd. The new location offers 60 to 80 acres of roaming space equipped with huts and feeders.

All right so the plan is today we're going to get all of our kind of mid-sized feeder pigs
and we're going to get them loaded up take them over to our new place basically that's going to
be specifically for the the weaned pigs the finishers and we've got that place all set up
we got the feeders over there we got the huts over there so now it's just a matter of getting
some of these bigger feeder pigs loaded up up in the trailer and take over there and drop off
so I'm thinking about putting that big heavy duty gate right here and then that way like
you know if they are milling around here it's not like a big deal at least they won't go that way
pull it this way and then when we get a group in there we just shove them
shove them up yep and then maybe get another group
and then yeah and then we use that gate to push the next group yeah let's do that
let's go come on hey hey let's go load up come on
give me my flag come on hey hey hey come on all right go ahead and start swinging it around
damn it go ahead swing okay now swing until it hits that yellow one and then move them both at
the same time come on guys you want to count them as they go in big medium
let's go we won't be able to get as many as
last time so if we can get a good surge in there we'll just call that good
we'll just call that good for now
come on all right so this is the new spot where my feeder pigs are going to go we've got like
oh 60 to 80 acres something like that in here that they're going to be able to roam we're
eventually going to paddock them off and you know make different spots but right now they're going
to have the whole thing to roam uh got our huts got our pig feeders already here so now it's just
a matter of dropping the pigs off and uh they're going to be happy it's a good spot lots of room
for them to roam and and uh you know adventure so part of the goal with moving all these pigs
over to the new property is to reduce some of the impact here um at the home we'd like to be
at the home base here we'd like it to be just the farrowing so we're breeding sows we're we're
farrowing we're doing some group farrowing as soon as they wean we'll uh maybe give them a week or
two after wean and then we'll take them over there and then that way all of our grower operation is
over over at the new place and uh we don't have as much impact here with all those grower animals
we can kind of keep it solid with the sows um we're planning on expanding our sows i mean we're
about 200 to 225 right now and we we'd eventually like to double that so we want to keep this area
here pretty much exclusively um for the breeding animals and then that way we can just grow pigs
uh on on the new property we've got some other spots that we're going to be putting pigs as well
but that's kind of the basis of us getting some of these grower pigs out of here less impact here
less animals on the ground and consolidate over there with everybody
