Todd Chrisley shares what he says was one of the most surprising moments from his trial, recalling a judge who regularly entered the courtroom without shoes. Speaking with Mercedes Schlapp at CPAC, Chrisley reflects on his experience with the judicial system and discusses concerns about judicial conduct, public trust, and accountability.
During the conversation, Chrisley criticizes what he describes as activist judges and argues that the justice system should be held to a higher standard of professionalism and impartiality. He also discusses media coverage surrounding his legal case, comments on the broader legal and political climate, and emphasizes the importance of respecting American institutions while demanding accountability from those who serve within them.

And in so many cases these families that don't have the resources to defend themselves and they
end up stuck in this never-ending cycle. Then ending up in jail and the need for sentencing
reform in so many cases. Well you know you have these judges who are on these benches and they
have this godlike complex. Yeah. They want to. Oh we know judge, activist judges right? Yes and you
know I've been very vocal and candid about the judge that we had. You know it's such a disrespect
you know for the position. Our judge would come in every morning of that trial with no shoes on.
And I would think. Of course you would notice that. Well yeah because you're looking ratchet.
You're not. And I thought the prosecutor you said wasn't too attractive. We had no attractive
prosecutor. That would have helped. Now you're being prosecuted by people that are just not even
their own mother loves that face. So I just think that it was a situation. It was a perfect storm.
You know and the press didn't want to report that you know we've settled a multi-million
dollar settlement against the state of Georgia. Right. They don't talk about that because then
that would expose the state of Georgia for what was going on. Well there's someone called Fannie
Willis there. Is it Fannie or Fonnie? Whatever. I mean I think that's just an embarrassment.
Embarrassment. I mean look at how she shows up dressed. And you're going to go on television
looking like that. Like two pigs in a blanket fighting. I just you know and then you're going
to pink on top of it. That's the color you're after. That was bad. But you know you look at
how they put again creating a perfect storm. They all worked behind the scene to take down
the president of the United States. When I was in school growing up you know in sixth grade you had
a picture of all the presidents in your civics class. And you know you did the Pledge of Allegiance
and you were not afraid to say you were a Christian and you were allowed to have a Bible.
And today we're to be ashamed of that. And you're going to talk about the president the leader of
We're going to create skits to talk about this man to try to tear him down. Even if you don't
like him he's still your president. And you treat that office with respect.
