This is the feeling I've been searching for my entire life, for as long as I can remember, because suddenly the world went quiet. This is Zendaya, the triple threat superstar known for her performances in the Spider-Man films, The Greatest Showman, Euphoria, and she continues to play Chani in the Dune franchise. I won't be fighting for him. I'm fighting for my people. Zendaya's first on-screen credits consisted of an ad for an iCarly toy. Interview time! And she was a backup dancer in a Sears commercial with Selena Gomez. Then in 2010, Zendaya had her first big break as Rocky Blue, one of two Chicago teens trying to realize their dream of becoming professional dancers in the Disney Channel series Shake It Up. We totally just danced on TV. And we totally rocked it! At the time, the series premiere was the highest rated of any other Disney Channel show, which helped catapult a music career for Zendaya. She released a single, Swag It Out, in 2011, then a full self-titled album in 2013. During her time in the Disney universe, Zendaya also starred in some made-for-TV movies like Zapped and Frenemies. After Shake It Up wrapped in 2013, Zendaya starred in a new Disney series, KC Undercover, until 2018. But during her time on this show, she started branching out from the usual Disney fare. Her first non-Disney TV role was in an episode of Black-ish. I'm gonna call myself an Uber, because it looks like you're about to get a whoop. And her first major film role was a big one. Michelle, aka MJ, in Spider-Man Homecoming. My friends call me MJ. I'm glad you didn't have any friends. I didn't. That same year, she stepped up her physical strength and added trapeze artists to her skill set as Anne Wheeler in the Oscar-nominated musical The Greatest Showman. Everyone's got an act. Besides continuing to play MJ in Spider-Man Far From Home and Spider-Man No Way Home. I wasn't just watching you because I thought you were Spider-Man. Zendaya flexed her dramatic acting muscles in the relationship drama Malcolm & Marie. It's embarrassing and it's cruel and it makes me regret sharing so much with you. And the critically acclaimed series Euphoria. She played Rue, a teenager struggling to navigate romance and the perils of high school, all while shouldering an intense drug addiction. You told me that if I ever wanted to be with you, all I would have to do is close my eyes and we'd be together. She garnered multiple awards and nominations not just for her performance, but also for producing the show and contributing original songs. Zendaya would go on to play a tennis star intertwined in a love triangle in Challengers. Want me to come tuck you in? And she's continued to play a major role in the Dune franchise as Chani, a strong-willed member of the Fremen who helps Paul Atreides realize his destiny in the universe. This is only the beginning. Over the years, Zendaya has developed into a multi-faceted performer who's appeared in a wide variety of projects. And her confidence and versatility is matched only by her desire to grow and challenge herself as an artist. It's hard work, but Zendaya makes it look easy.
