Bernie, would you like a donut?
I can't really make one.
Should I eat it now or save it?
Maybe half.
For the sugar.
Don't eat the whole thing.
And then take a picture with it.
We go to food in Chile has been
pizza and donuts.
Would this be like American culture?
Krispy Kreme?
Yeah, I think so.
Before we head up, I'm just going to
give my bindings a quick tighten.
The Burton EST
system, I like to give the
screws a couple extra
turns before I go riding.
So, I'm going to do that.
Alright, we're all set.
Hey, good morning guys. Today
I'm up riding at Pali Novato.
Just heading to the gondola now.
It's a pretty warm
spring feeling day up here.
So, I'm going to ride some park
and maybe explore some
of the runs and side hits.
We've got a perfect day for the park.
Sun's out. Snow should be nice and soft.
I haven't had too many
park days in South America.
Looking forward to
changing things up and doing something
different today.
That was a fun lap.
That gully was like...
That's the side hits.
Alright, on this lap
I'll give you guys a tour of the
D.C. Snow Park
up here at Pali Novato.
Tons of really fun features.
They have like a pro section
but the small kind of medium
section is super fun too.
Starting with these two
tubes that have like a gap
in between
which is really fun.
So, up next we've got this really nice
rainbow box feature.
You know, kind of
an intermediate
solid trick.
We've got the beginner box.
Coming up we've got like this really small
like extra small style jump.
Good for like
180's.
And then this last one is more
like just as small.
So, super fun park up here
at Pali Novato.
That's the small section.
There's also like an extra large
couple of jumps.
Some good progression, small features
which I like.
I feel like parks should
mostly be small features. That's what most
people are hitting. But they still
got the large stuff
for the more expert riders.
Once you get back
to the bottom, they got this
button lift
which
lets you get quick park laps.
I mean, I think it's just
like a three minute ride down
but then you get back up so quickly
so you can get like dozens
of laps a day. I feel like every park should
have that dedicated
park access back to
the top.
So,
awesome day up here at Pali Novato.
If I were to describe
what the highlights are of riding
up here, I think one is that
it's pretty vast.
So, lots of runs, lots of
terrain to explore.
Two, the views are
incredible. I would have to say maybe
top three
all-time best
views of any place I've
snowboarded in the world. Also, the
backcountry here is really fun.
So, if you're into
riding the backcountry or
doing some small
hikes and you got the avid
experience, it's a place
where you can definitely find some fun lines.
I'm also finding that
the overall vibe up here is
very nice.
Family-oriented,
friendly staff,
everyone just seems to be in a good mood, which
is a big
plus when it comes to snowboarding
and discovering a new resort.
