Welcome back everyone. NBC's Little Big Shots showcases talented young kids
from around the world who truly amaze and inspire viewers. And their upcoming episode
this Sunday is no different. Please welcome to the A&C stage, our Atlanta Drum Academy.
I want to make sure that this mic gets up here so I can interview some of you cuties
that was incredible and you are the man behind it all. James Riles, he is the owner of Atlanta
Drum Academy. Congratulations. Thank you, thank you, thank you. What an amazing talented group
you have. Talk about how Sunday's episode went, the taping of it. Were you guys just so excited?
Yes, we were very excited. We went out in October to film and we only had to pick 13
kids. We really have like 40 kids. So we had to pick these 13 kids to go out to Hollywood to film
and it was great. We enjoyed it. Okay, I want to talk to somebody who, okay tell me,
how was the whole process? Like were you scared or were you just, I mean you guys are calm,
cool and collected here. So do you just kind of channel that good energy? To be honest,
when we first got there, I was a little astonished by how big the studio was and
how complicated everything was. I was a little nervous at first but I eventually got over it
and I just channeled all the good energy like you said. Okay, how was Steve? I have to know.
Tell me how Steve was. Steve was really funny and he was really great and then he made the crowd
laugh and all that stuff. Made it a good time and how about you? What was your favorite part
of the whole process? My favorite part was just getting to be there, the opportunity of playing
with all my family. Yeah, oh and I see you look like you want to say something. What's your name?
Makai. Okay, did you have fun when you were auditioning for Steve?
No? All right, what shows fun or Little Big Shots or Atlanta and Company?
Little Big Show was fun. Really? Seriously?
All right, tell me more. What's next for these guys? Well first of all,
talk about the audition process to get in the group or I mean how, what's your youngest?
Right now our current youngest student is five years old and right here our oldest student is
13 years old right here in this group. Wow, that is incredible. It must have been really hard as
you were trying to figure out who was going. That was the hardest decision ever in my life. So yeah,
it was but we narrowed it down and we got the job done. Open to all skill levels, the group. I mean
how do people get in touch with you? They can get in touch with us via our website which is
www.atldrumacademy.com or on social media as well which is atldrumacademy.com on Instagram. I kind
of want them to play for my 50th birthday next year. Is that right? We're there. Is it? Well,
I don't know since he said he likes Steve better. Maybe you can play for Steve's birthday. All right
and also talk about when you talk about the practice, you know we have a lot of parents
who might be interested listening. What are the schedules like and are you the only teacher?
I'm the only teacher most of the time but I have a few of my older students who come from college.
But our practice schedule is in Riverdale from 7 30 to 9 30 on Friday nights. We call it Friday
night lights because that's when we have practice and we do our small group lessons on Tuesdays and
also on Thursdays. Well, you are incredible what you've done here and you guys are incredible.
