The speaker shares a morning routine on her farm, balancing the desire to clean the property for an upcoming party with her social commitments. The video focuses on daily animal chores, specifically managing the goats' diet, weaning plans for the kids, and the unique care requirements for her ornamental geese.
Good morning guys! Welcome to today's video. Oh! The sun! Holy moly! Anyway,
welcome to today. You guys, it's the weekend and we only have a few weeks
left before our big party and we need to get this property cleaned. I mean like
we have a lot to do still. I have to clean this horse pasture, this one, and over by
the barn too. Like, it's a lot. So I'm gonna stay home all weekend and just clean.
Just joking. I'm going to a birthday party. I'm taking baby Lily and a little baby
Emmy and we're going to a birthday party a couple hours away. Yeah, that's the
problem. Anyways, I tell you guys this all the time. Every time I have the best
intentions and I'm so excited to go out there and get some work done. Sophie
rides her horse and wants me to come and watch and I always drop everything
to watch. Or a birthday party comes up or we always do Saturday shopping on
Saturdays. I need to change that. But welcome to today and no matter what's
going on, I got to do chores so let's do chores. Everybody's waiting for me. I
don't know if you guys can see. They're waiting. They're waiting. They're waiting.
I actually feel so good to walk in in the morning and everybody just be
waiting for you. I don't know. It's just such a good feeling. The people that came
to pick up the little boy yesterday loved her. The little girl that looks
like Oakley. She's like, oh I'll just watch the pigs. It's so cute. I don't know what
she's doing. But those are the babies that we're keeping. So adorable. Have you
guys noticed that they have like narrow heads? Her head. Oh, Oakley. Her head. Their
head. They have Nico's head. It's because pool babies have way thinner, more
narrow heads. Oh, hello. What can I do for you? Hey, can I do for you? I don't know
why but sometimes babies wait for me in the window. Also one of my favorite
things to do is to set the camera up in the morning and film the goats coming
out. It's one of my favorite things. I'm gonna do that too today. I try and do it
every Saturday. I don't want you guys to get bored seeing them come out. I love watching them
come out. I don't know who does this every day. It's the weirdest thing and I know it's
not the geese even though they definitely drink this water. Wow. Gross.
That's gross. Go find some food. Go find some food. There's lots of food. Go get it.
The geese are definitely harder to clean up after. One of the geese buckets. But they're
pretty darn cute and I love them. Adding an extra goat, no big deal. Adding just
two little geese, so much work. Even the chickens are not as much work. Also, I've
stopped feeding the senior does grain from now until breeding season. Oh, they
want out now. They're like, give me the grain. Especially this little thing in
the back. Oh, she's so mean. She is so mean. I do not know how you have like the
most amazing baby. Hopefully she doesn't get that. But yep, stopped feeding them
grain. They don't get in the morning. They get just a tiny, tiny couple of drops
in the night so that they'll come in. Lola's like, what the heck? Where's my
grain? I'll start giving them grain. Look how big she is. Okay, so Lola never argues
and fights. Alright, I'm letting them out. I try to not let them have any grain and wait
till the babies are done, till the other ones are done before I let them have it.
But yeah, I'm a sucker for a goat that's upset. For any animal that's upset. So I'm
gonna let them in. I'm gonna let them out. Last night was the first night that they
did not have grain and I can see it bothered them. Come on, outside. We'll see
what's left. Not much left. Sorry. It's the way the cookie crumbles. But I like to
look at everybody and see how they're doing. This girl has not weaned her baby
yet. Almost five months old baby. And just like that, the only ones on top of the
thing now are the ones that were just came out last. Also, I've been watching
Oakley over the last 24 hours and she seems fine about her boy being missing.
And I know that she knows. Like, I've seen animals count babies. All of them. Like,
they know how to count their babies and see who's, if somebody's missing or if
somebody's lost. So I know she knows that he's missing, that she's okay. Also heard
from the new owners. They said that they think he's even cuter in person and they
love him. And I'm like, yeah, of course you do because he is really sweet. Like,
Sophie wanted to keep him so badly because he's so nice.
If you thought little baby Toffee was a brat and mean to the other goats, you've
got to meet Toffee without grain. Cause she be wild. She comes in here. So sunny.
You guys can't see. She comes in here and she attacks everybody. That's why
Cinderella eats inside there. And this is what farm life is like. You're going to a
party and you're sitting in the goat field about to let goats climb on. I call
her Gem Gem. Her name is Gemma though. Oh my gosh. All right. I don't know. Now I'm
being attacked. She's my favorite and her mother is my worst nightmare. She's
awful. My gosh, I'm attacked. Anyway, I love her and I love her mom too. I told
Sophie she might not live here very much longer Toffee cause she makes life
really hard. But I come down like when the people came yesterday, I always have
to be so worried about her getting in and she's always getting in. Like I can't,
she's, she's so, I can't even describe her. She's wild. Absolutely wild. But
tonight Sylvia and I plan to separate Oakley from her babies at night. So lots
of people do this at two weeks. They're eight weeks. So we're just going to
separate them at night. That's it. And let her, and we're going to, I'm going to
milk her tomorrow and then we're going to start weaning them a little bit. Like
not fully wean them. They won't be weaned till at least four months, maybe even
later. If she's like her mom, she'll wean them at four months and that'll be it.
But this is how I can tell that, that, that Gemma is going to be just like her
mom Toffee is because if another goat comes near me, she attacks it. She
literally attacks it. This always just wants to be chewing and her mom was the
same. Always needed to be chewing. Get out of my hair. I didn't even really like do my hair
today. I didn't straighten it. This is what it looks like when I don't straighten it.
Super puppy. All right. Well, I gotta go and I already smell like goats now. So my
job here is done. Mmm, my little Gemma. I just love her. I love them all, but I
don't know. She, see, she's trying to fight. She'll fight anybody that comes near me.
Go away. Let me love on her for a minute. Did you notice your baby's gone?
Guess she's sad. She needs a hug. And she didn't even outgrow this. Awfulness. Stop it.
Stop. She actually bites, but not in a mean way. She just nibbles on you. Stop.
Did you notice your baby's gone? You went to a new home. You're a big boy. Also, if
you're wondering if I've stopped taking the broom with me wherever I go since we
got the geese, no. No, I have not done that. And if you're wondering if Lola is
in heat for the hundredth time this month, yep. Yep, she is. So, oh my gosh. So
that is why she was screaming to get out of her stall. But did you guys notice?
Little gold boy Dash is right over there. Excited. Oh my gosh. Look who, look who
followed me. I got Gemma and I got Maple and Oakley. They all followed me. I don't have any
extra food for you. But your babies are leaving you tonight for the night.
They're going in the baby stall. So this is why I think, and I told this to my
friend before and she doesn't think it's true, but this is why I think Lola has so
many babies. She's always in heat. She's a hyper ovulator. Good, run from those boys.
That's your dad. And there's my poshie. She waits until everybody else leaves me
and then she comes for love. Yeah, my girl poshie. Oh, hello. This is Opal, Oakley's
wannabe. She's a cutie. Look at how nice their feathers are coming in. I put a
picture side-by-side yesterday so I could look at them to see how they've
changed. They've definitely gotten fatter. Their necks are thicker and their hair
is starting to finally come in. And I have a huge plan for them for winter. So I was
thinking to myself like, what the heck? We've had geese in winter before and I
remember what we fed them, but I didn't feel comfortable. Like, I didn't love
what we fed them. Bye Gemma. This year I did a ton of research and I know
exactly what I'm gonna feed them and it's a lot. It's gonna be a lot, but I
love mixing grains and soaking feed and doing all that kind of stuff. So
this year I'm gonna feed my geese a whole different regime, like a whole
different setup. I'm excited about it. I should maybe start buying the stuff now
because it's a lot of stuff that you mix together. And I do that with my goats at
breeding season too, so I might start getting all that stuff together. I already
have a lot of stuff bought for the goats that I'm gonna feed them this winter, but
I have a lot of stuff to mix up. I can't wait. Even though it's barely been summer,
I'm so excited for fall. It's my favorite. But the interesting thing, bye guys. Bye.
Sorry, I got nothing for you and I can't sit with you because I don't want to
stink today. So the interesting thing about our geese is they're, they're
largely ornamental geese. They're not like regular geese. They really don't get
wet because those, I see Gracie and Honey eating together up there like mama and
daughter. Remember Gracie raised her. Anyways, I, so they're largely ornamental.
They, the big feathers that they have that they're gonna get soon, they make it
really hard for them to dry and they get chilled and they can die. So they
don't get wet. They do stand in the pool though and they'll like mess around a
little bit in it, but they don't like fully submerge and swim, which makes that
breed even better for us. And they also don't fly. They're ornamental, like
there's hardly, they're almost on the endangered species list. Yeah, so
hopefully we can hatch some eggs and really grow some babies because, and
they're supposed to be the gentlest breed ever and they are, but Guccifer is
just annoying.
