No Cal Players on Preseason All-ACC

The ACC only had a first-team preseason all-conference team, and it's no surprise that no Cal players were selected, voted to that squad. It's a little bit surprising they didn't have a second team or a third team, but they didn't do that last year either. So I was a little bit surprised that Sangapolitelli of Cal did not get at least a vote in Player of the Year voting. I was not surprised that Mensa is the pick to win the ACC Player of the Year. He's a quarterback for the overwhelming favorites to win the ACC, so that's almost automatic. But I thought Sangapolitelli might get a vote or two. Four quarterbacks got votes in ACC Player of the Year, but Sangapolitelli didn't get any. I'm sure that's because Cal was picked to finish 12th in the conference, so it's hard to have a quarterback picked for Player of the Year if the team is expected to finish that low. I expect Cal to finish higher than that, but that's a different issue.
