AI GeneratedSophie and Steve from The Honest Adventures embark on a 15-kilometer hiking and camping trip in the Lake District. Their journey takes them across the peaks around Haystacks, where they explore waterfalls, tarns, and a unique shelter known as a \"bield,\" culminating in an overnight wild camp under the stars.
Hi, we're Sophie and Steve from The Honest Adventures and today we're in the Lake District.
We've planned a 15 kilometre route that's going to take us over all the peaks around Aissac.
On the way we're going to look for waterfalls, hidden bodies, tarns and we're going to camp
and cook under the stars tonight. Let's go! So it's mid-July at the moment and we've never
been here before, have we? No, never. It's absolutely gorgeous and we had the best drive
here. It was so nice. We're about to start our ascent up the steep path which we're not looking
forward to but I think it's going to be amazing. It is half two now. Half two. So we've got till
about half past nine until sunset so that should give us enough time to explore the whole area,
find that body. I'm really looking forward to that. I can't wait to find that. And then it
would be nice if we could find this tarn, have a bit of a dip and maybe use our life straw. Oh
yeah, we haven't used that yet. We got a life straw, we've never used it so we'll see how it goes.
I've been so looking forward to this adventure. We've been planning it for weeks and now we're
actually here and we couldn't have asked for a better day. So we've just started the proper ascent
and it's pretty steep already but the views are incredible. It's absolutely stunning. It is incredible
First thing we're going to find is the waterfall. Yeah, we're going to find the waterfall and then
we're going to find the body. I'm looking forward to seeing this body. I've never been to a body before
and we're in July now and I think this is our first ever official summer camp. It is really isn't it?
Yeah and with this one we also brought a map and I found out that I absolutely love maps.
I do, I really like them. I don't know what it is about them but I just love them.
What have you got in there, milk? It's amazing, you want some? Yeah.
We can hear the waterfall. I think it's down here. And we've found the waterfall. Let's go check it out.
That's like the main bit isn't it? Yeah. We're going to do something that we've never done before.
We've got this life straw and we're going to use it in the waterfall.
Did you get it? Yeah. What's it like? It's good. It's actually really nice. Yeah? Yeah, just try it.
It's actually really nice. Do you like it? Yeah, it's fresh isn't it? It is fresh. Fresh water.
I really hope I don't get the old diarrhoea now. Oh no. That wouldn't be good would it? No.
That's cool, if it works that's really cool. It's 20 to 4 and this is where we are so far.
We're going to climb the rest of the hill and try and find this body.
I can see the body in the distance. We found it. Let's go check it out. Yeah. We're getting there darling.
We're nearly at the body. There it is. I think that must be like a little,
what do you reckon that was? The dining room? Or the shed? Are you coming in? The door's tiny.
It's really cool. It's got a little um, it's a little stove. Yeah. It's got a little
bluff in it isn't it? Look at that outside the window. We made it to the body. It's quite cute.
It's cool isn't it? Yeah. Yeah I like it. This is the outside of the body. Apparently it was made
for like the sleep mine and now it's just a shelter where you can stay if you want to or you can
just stop and have a drink, a coffee, admire the amazing views. We've come off the path a lot. Yeah
because we want to see the body. Oh okay. So we just need to go back up there.
So we're gonna go. If you can go up there and then up. We're nearly there. How you doing?
I just had a Percy Pig. Oh can I have one? Thank you. A bit of energy. Oh no.
A bit of Percy Pig energy.
I'm getting pretty hungry now. Are you? I think we should stop and find something to eat.
There's the tarn. So we found the tarn and we're gonna go and check it out.
We don't fall in. We found the best camping spot. Better than we thought we'd ever get.
We've got the tarn behind us. We've got that amazing view. Oh how have we got this to ourselves?
I think Claire would reckon. Yeah. Yeah. It's amazing. Let's do it. So literally five minutes
after we decided we're gonna camp by that tarn with the gorgeous view, we put our tent down
and honestly it was like, it was like a stampede. All of a sudden there's three other tents we've
had to move but instead of a setback we're gonna look at it as like a new adventure. Exactly.
Because at the moment it's ten to seven now so we've got to try and find somewhere. Yeah. We've
already hiked up quite a big hill. Yeah. So we're gonna carry on going and see if we can find a nice
spot. Okay so we've been hiking just a little bit more and we've come across this tarn. There is
quite a nice spot here. What do you think? You like it? Yeah. It's quite nice. Oh there he is all smiley.
But it's again a gorgeous view. Let's see what he says. If anything this tarn's actually nicer.
It's a lot more peaceful and we get the sun setting. Do you know they say a setback is just
another opportunity for something better and look at this. It's actually really nice here
and I'm really happy with this. So we're gonna set our tent up and get our camp all cosy.
Just found this other tarn as well. Just a little bit up from where we're staying.
Oh my god. I cannot wait for this food darling. Thank you. Thank you so much.
Good morning. We slept really well last night and it is a misty morning.
I'm gonna get up, make some breakfast and get on our way. Pancakes are such a good idea.
We've probably got three quarters of the way of the walk left. Yeah. We could if we're knackered
just take this path back. We could yeah. But we'd miss all the lovely views of there. So the marker
that we had set on the app was actually there and that's only halfway around. Yeah and we're
back here. So I think we're gonna start hiking, see how we feel and when we get to that junction
past haystacks we'll have the decision to make about are we gonna take the long route or the
short route. Bye bye campspot. I'm hoping we're still going to get a good view when we get onto
the haystacks because it's quite misty at the moment. So unfortunately it's a bit too
foggy to see anything but I'm absolutely loving the hike. It's so cool isn't it? It's amazing.
It's so fun. It's a proper adventure. We just climbed to the top of them rocks and we found
another tarn. It's a shame about all the mist but this is lovely. How are we doing? We're okay.
We're going a little bit off path. So we need to bend back around that way to the right.
These views are incredible. I don't know if you can see them as well on the camera but
it's so nice. That path down there is where we first started our hike yesterday
and hiked up there. It's absolutely gorgeous to see it from this point of view.
It's a bit surreal isn't it when you come up? Yeah. You're looking down at where you were once.
Yeah it's so nice. I'm so happy that the fog has cleared. Actually the sun's come out as well.
Look at this. It's incredible. We had a good time. Honestly we had the best time. It's been
stunning. It was so nice. We're so lucky with the weather. We've been, yeah, for once we've
finally been lucky with the weather. Finally. I've honestly loved this. We've had an absolutely
amazing time on this trip. I've loved every single second of it. It's been so nice. It's
been absolutely perfect. Everything about it, the weather, the location, the food, it's just
been great. It's been amazing. Thank you so much for watching. We've got loads more adventures
planned so if you want to see anything else like this head over to our channel.
