Meado’s 40th Goal 🦁 | Highlights | England 3-0 Ukraine | Women | FIFA World Cup European Qualifier

It will be, we'll need to see how to take this corner, plays it short, rolls it into the path of Lauren James. Lovely curling ball, looping off the post and down into the grasp of the goalkeeper. What a chance that was for the Lionesses. That's a brilliant effort from Lauren James, as we expect. Lauren Hemp, still through tonight, here's Lauren James. Trademark footwork, chops one way. The deflection's there, it's headed down and it's... The more that Lauren James has the ball, the more likely that England are going to create something. She picks a moment, finds a space and then puts it on Jess Carter's head. And she did so well in the centre-back to just guide it past. Goal for England! Akilah Brown. Walsh. They move forward to look for Russo, plays it across. Georgia Stanwyck doubles England's lead. Right place, right time. Perfectly placed ball. That's terrific timing of the run from Georgia Stanwyck. It still needs that movement from Russo. As soon as she knows that Walsh's got the ball, she knows that Walsh will put it in the right place. And it's about being unselfish. She could have had a go on goal. She knew that somebody would be there, whether it's Hemp. It happened to be Stanwyck. Goodness. A golden opportunity for England. And it's left for Bethmead. It's Mead, the strike! 40th goal for Bethmead in England colours. As she draws level with Farrah Williams. England's all-time scoring list. That's a nice bit of quality, isn't it, from Bethmead. Fast approach in the end of the two minutes. And that is that. First part of England's qualification campaign for the World Cup in 2027 concludes. It will be into the play-off. Serena Veegman's Lionesses. Bethmead climbing up the order on the all-time scores list. Jess Carter opened the scoring 14 minutes into the game. Georgia Stanwyck added a second. But a night that will be full of celebrations for Bethmead. It's a full time here in Liverpool. It's finished England 3, Ukraine 0. Hallelujah. I actually don't even know what to say. This is Lionesses, cap or no cap. The rules are simple. Three statements, two truths, one lie. Can we catch them out or can they keep their game face on? That was really good, that. Thanks, girls.
