BREAKING: BEARS EXTEND DARNELL WRIGHT #bears #nfl #thesickpodcast

Congratulations to Bears right tackle Darnell Wright who signed a deal today to extend his contract to become one of the highest paid offensive linemen in the NFL and it is absolutely well deserved. I remember not too long ago during the draft a lot of Bears fans were screaming for Jalen Carter and Jalen Carter has turned out to be a really good football player. There's nothing nothing wrong with Jalen Carter if that was your take at the time. Definitely not wrong but I remember my friend draft doctor Phil joining us on the show right after that draft talking about how much he loved Darnell Wright. I remember having a conversation with Brian Baldinger on the on the set of the NFL Network there and before the draft even happened I was putting together my mock draft with a twist and I had asked him oh hey who do you think is the best offensive tackle in this draft and this is before the Bears even selected him we were just talking as a college prospect at the time Brian Baldinger he also identified Darnell Wright as the best offensive lineman in that draft and one of the things I really love here about the Bears is that they lock him in and this whole time it was great because Darnell Wright never sweated it was like you know what I'm not even worried about this because I know I'm going to sign a long-term deal and I'm going to be a Chicago Bear for a long time and when you look at this team right now you look at all the offensive talent Caleb Williams entering his third season you got guys like Roma Dunzey and Luther Byrd in the third and Colston Loveland and Cole Komet this lineup is stacked they're signed they're ready to go this is this is uncharted territory for the Bears to sit here and look at an offense that could be one of if not the best in the NFL I can't wait to get going let's go
