FULL MATCH: The Legacy vs. John Cena & Batista | World Tag Team Title Match: Raw, Aug. 4, 2008

The following tag team contest is scheduled for one fall. And it is for the World Tag Team Championship. Introducing first, at a combined weight of 454 pounds, world tag team champions, Cody Rhodes and Tag Team Ioxey. Well, General Manager Mike Adderley made this matchup. And you have to admit, King, that things have calmed down a little bit since Adderley took over this week. Well, I don't know, but Adderley, I think I may have just become an Adderley fan. He's hitting a, sit back there, kick back with Kelly Kelly and watch this match. Seeing Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase bring back any bad memories from last week? A lot of bad memories. How's your neck? DiBiase and Rhodes gonna have their work cut out for them tonight. If their opponents can function as a team. SummerSlam's on August 17th, Michael. And let's face it, just look at this. Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, the world tag team champions. But, I mean, size and strength, Cody's just outmatched here against The Animal. Cody looking out for Batista, tries to do what they have, a kick at the big man. And look at the power from the near 300 pound man. With every time he thrusts that shoulder into the gut of Rhodes, it's another message being sent to his partner, Cena. Into the spine, cover. Batista could win the gold here live tonight on Monday Night Raw. And The Animal set himself a little too soon there for a boy. Look at this. When we talk about Batista's power, what about his agility? That's what I was about to say. The agility of The Animal on display here for that man, I believe. Saw the smile break out on Cena's face. Look out. And from behind, DiBiase gonna pay for it. Get it out. Rhodes and DiBiase trying, and Batista shoulder first into the steel post. The World Tag Team Title's on the line. And the story during the commercial break, King, has been Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase's ability to work on the injured arm of Batista. You're right, Batista slammed his own shoulder into that steel ring post. And well, ever since that time, the World Tag Team Champions have had a little bit of the upper hand, so to speak. Look at the strength of Batista. Batista trying to power out of this Cena and Batista team tonight. Despite the fact their opponents at SummerSlam in two weeks, Batista makes a tag. And here comes John Cena. John Cena exploding out of the blocks. The emotional and intense Cena, looking to win the tag team gold. Switched, it's the- Right across. And Rhodes and DiBiase feeling the wrath of Cena. DiBiase, I believe he did, he made a tag. Cena didn't realize it. And DiBiase capitalizing. A resourceful move. Look at the DDT from Cody. And DiBiase looking to pick apart John Cena now. And you see the tag team champions functioning well as a team can. One of the reasons they control most of this matchup against Batista and Cena. Man. Shoulder first to the steel steps goes Cena. And suddenly, DiBiase and Rhodes are in total control. I don't know if I would have believed this a few, three minutes ago. And DiBiase quickly going for the cover, trying to put the matchup away. Hooks the leg, and Cena with a wherewithal to grab the bottom rope and force the break. DiBiase trying to pull Cena out of the center of the ring for a cover here. Many have called the tag team champions crash an arrogant double suplex. Here's the hook of the leg, Cena kicks out at two. But there's no doubt that Rhodes and DiBiase make one hell of a team. And you can see the concern on the face of Batista. As he watches the tag team champs pick apart Batista's SummerSlam opponent. I'm gonna tell you something, Batista and Cena, no. They have spent so much time worrying about each other. They've taken the world tag team champs for granted. And DiBiase almost- Mocking, mocking. Mocked by a little shuffle there. And that was- vicious close one, cover, hooks the leg. And you saw how DiBiase aggressively went for the cover there, looking to put Cena away. Double team on the way for the world tag champs. And Rhodes and DiBiase taking their time, taking apart Cena. Cover again, and a kick out by Cena, perhaps uninstinct alone at two. Picture perfect drop kick there for Cody Rhodes, set up by Ted DiBiase. I don't know if you want to get cocky here. A hook, center out of reverence, and a destiny for Cody Rhodes. Quick leg sweep by Rhodes to Cena. I was about to say Rhodes doesn't want to trade punches with John Cena, and he did. And then the bad mouth to Batista by Rhodes. There you go, baby. Double team yet again. Many don't like their attitude, no denying their ability. Hook of the leg by the tag champs, and a kick out at two. Actually heard Batista say, come on, Cena. Pulling for his SummerSlam opponent with the tag titles on the line. Absolutely amazing. Double elbow, quick cover again. Look how Rhodes hooks the leg, and a kick out by Cena at two. You gotta look at it like this, if Cena were to get pinned, it's a pin's a loss on Batista as well. Neither one of these guys want that to happen. Rhodes hammering away with John Cena. Adding more pressure, Cena may go here. Cena and Batista started out dominating the matchup. But ever since the shoulder injury to Batista before a commercial break, Rhodes and DiBiase have regained control, have dominated. Cena reaching out, wanting to tag, but- Wait a minute. Look at the strength of Cena. Cena trying to drag a grown man across the ring. But Rhodes getting Cena back to his knees for a moment. I don't know if Dave is too anxious to tag in. He's trying to make Cena get all the way into the corner here. I think Batista could have reached him. Perhaps Batista just seeing what Cena's got. Here's the cover by John Cena. Two count, kick out. Perhaps Batista has seen how much John Cena can take, what his resilience factor is, as he scouts heading to SummerSlam. Remember that matchup for Batista, his words at SummerSlam came so intense now, because Batista believes it's the next step on his way to the World Championship. I realize that, but this is for the World Tag Team Championships as well. Cena, desperate straights for the former WWE Champion. You know, both Cena and Batista came into this match wondering if they could trust each other, but now I think that that was a message sent by Batista. If I was Cena, I wouldn't trust Batista now. Powering out. Look at his strength. That is brute strength. And Cena with a slipper of his own. And Cody Rhodes. These tag team champions certainly watching each other's backs, taking care of each other, which is not the case for Cena and Batista. Rhodes, a deviosity of the World Tag Team Champions. Cena and Batista are the challengers. The gold is on the line, live on Monday Night Raw. And could this be the opening that John Cena needs? Can he make a tag? Will Batista make a tag at this juncture? Batista gonna channel that energy toward deviosity. Man, I'm telling Batista and Cena we're gonna go. Cena slapped the face of his partner Batista. I don't think Batista's not gonna take out his feelings to Cena on the Tag Team Champions right now. That was a direct message to Cena. Animal says we're closing in on the tag titles. Cena taking out Rhodes. What does this mean? SummerSlam opponents are now tag team champions.
