It's important that we respect and honor the places and the courses that helped shape the
game of disc golf over time. This weekend we do exactly that. We are here at Pickard Park
for round one of the 2026 Discmania Challenge presented by Truebank. Your returning defending
champion Cadence Burge, her first start since going down after round two of the Queen City
Classic with a stress fracture in her back. And Missy Gannon still looking for her first win
of the year. Here's her shot on seven. This is again an island hazard all around here
and no hazard putt there. That's going to be a putt for birdie from circle one for Missy
and now Missy's birdie putt. She's two down. Here we go. Motivated Missy. But we're going to kick
it up to Emily Weatherman now on the tee of three. Even par so far. Beautiful fun downhill par three
and that's why. And here is that circus putt. This is for par from Cadence.
And there is your defending champ. Highlight putt to start the day. OB stroke doesn't matter. She's
even par going into hole two. What a tempo setter right there by Cadence. Well you get the blood
pressure going. You go out of bounds right away. You say oh boy how am I coming back from this.
Her putting stroke is just so clean. You got Amelia Nessa now on five. You got to ace
run this right? This has to be the play. Oh my gosh it is so good. You have to.
And that yeah that was excellent right there. Hanson throwing the new tee of four. It's just
a 350 spike hyzer. Get to see Cadence's power level here. How hard is she going to throw this one?
Great flight out of here. Definitely different than Ella's which has more power. Cadence took
a more flat approach. Came in perfectly when that back shoulder engaging. I think Cadence
does that really well. Yeah you saw that right there with Rebecca on that left arm. They're
pulling it into their body allowing that torque and torso to whip almost like a figure skater as
she gets tighter around. That centrifugal force is tight around the center core. And MJ for birdie.
That was a dot of a birdie. Gosh I hope we have this one to roll back. I'd love to see that shot.
Production crew can't be be leaving us hanging like this. Stand still. Give it to our rollback
crew. Look at the turn. Perfectly fed. That is an old school shot on the old school pin position. I
was just about to say that's a beach frisbee throw right there. Lovely. Beautiful. You know practice
round. Fun round. You might run that tournament round. No way. No way. Gager on seven. And she
is having a day right now. Another beautiful shot. Chance for birdie. Middling. Much more stable.
Why not? Everyone can wake up from their meditation now. We got an ace run on five.
Put the anchor on it. It's got to sit. That's all it needed to be. And over time they've cleared
out the back woods allowing you to be a little more aggressive to it. Cadence Bird second shot
here on six. Got to tuck this one back into the woods. Nice slow drift towards the target. It's
going to be gravity fed inside the circle. And again I think it's welcomed out here. The air
is otherwise a little bit stale. It's obviously humid as you would expect. The cloud cover is nice
but we love the breeze when it continues to push through at five to ten miles an hour.
Rebecca on the left side of the fairway throwing a turnover that's sliding right toward the pin.
She's going to be just left of the basket. Give her maybe 15 to 18 feet. Good look for birdie.
But this is her first year clearly playing some Disc Golf Pro Tour events. And to play the Disc
Golf Pro Tour events is a different, it's a different game. It's a different style. Right
behind the green actually is a sweet brought to you by Casey's. If you're from the Midwest you
know Casey's. I play the Casey's scratch off game on the app daily. I'm hoping to win something
someday. I keep missing. But I love you Casey's. Fill up all the time there. Well they've provided
an air-conditioned place for fans to go and watch the shots come in on seven. And they watched
Holland put one inside the circle. Ella looking to do the same. Just like that. Cat Murch's second
here in 11. Got to get the turn. This is the shape that really works to solve Pickard Park
that Cat naturally has in her throw. And another birdie look here for Cat to get to seven down
through 11 holes. Just keeping it going. Doing everything right. Placement shots, big shots, and
draining putts. Four shot lead after 11 holes. Only missed four so far. Yeah I feel like this is
certainly one of the most drastic changes that we're seeing on the course. This used to be the
spot you would avoid in previous years. If you were over here we were definitely searching for two or
three minutes to try and find the disc. And watching Rebecca's come in. Hers is going to get to the pin
high position. Again 18 to 20 feet at most. Looks like she's got this one figured out early. Back
to Cat Murch. Can't look away at this point. Here she is on 12. Gets it. Cat Murch to get to eight down.
Can she keep the fire? Put another log on it. Cat is stoked. Becca Don this is nice. Gotta keep going.
There we go. That is the shot. Barely clearing the hill to keep the nose down.
Previous iteration of 13 didn't score very well and I'm curious to see if this can improve.
Agree. Similar but not. Emily using the slope as a backstop. Down the hill on 10.
And now back to Holland. Rapid fire. A birdie look. Sorry a par look after hitting first
available tree. Yes. Boom. Great par save right there. Now Weatherman's second shot down the
corridor on 11. Oh that was lovely. Slow drift towards the target. It's the flexes that that
look like they're a little wobbly like the stable drivers but you can't ace every hole. You cannot.
You can hit that one though. That's a par for Eliezer Middling. What a save.
Long corridor shot here. That is such a good shot right there. Well done. You really cannot get your
disc too high. It will not make it through the keyhole gap. Rebecca kept it low and safe. This
is going to be her birdie chance from about 50. Oh yeah. Weak side stick. Beautiful recovery right
there. Doesn't matter which shot you get it done with. Birdies are birdies. Talk about hole 12.
What are the players looking at here? What are the challenges? One is you've got this elevated tee.
You have to hit the gap. There's mandos. If you miss you could filter into the OB area.
That was a good shot right there by Holland. Forehand sets up really nice. Hansen overstable
forehand down the hill. 12 is such a nice addition. This is in part of the park that was not opened up
to us in the original design. Love it. With all these rolling hills, Kat's big wind came out at
Jonesboro. Very similar terrain. And now Weatherman on 14 again funneling to the green. That's going
to be a putt. Rightfully so. They're not talking about my my finishes. We're talking about Kat
Murch right now. 17. Her second shot to the island. The Iowa island. I don't think it's good.
Kat actually putting herself almost where Indianola is. And we'll just say it's intentional.
I think it is. She is nine down again. A thousand right around is four under unofficially.
And Ella's lining up her second shot. Terry, talk to us about this hole. Talk to us about some of
the shots. Especially Ella's. This is prime positioning. Weatherman from the fairway on 15.
It's a really nice hangout on the right hand side. Finishes well towards the pin. Green flag for the
clean. Dang. Cadence for Birdie on 14. Yes. Perfect speed. Drops it in. Kat Murch
on the green of 18. This par keeps her at nine under. Got it. What a day for Kat Murch. Opening
the day. Opening the weekend with a nine down. Five shots. Bogey free. One of the rare bogey free
rounds. So impressive when you can do that. Put it together. Rebecca Don on the sloped fairway
of 15. Our feature card did some really great drives right here. The farther you can put
yourself up on that hillside, it allows the disc to stay on the high hillside. Then it will filter
towards the pin. Cadence not going to be in position. Here's Holland. I kind of want you to
throw that push hyzer. Little bit of flip as it's riding left. That's going to be just fine. Nicely
done. Well inside the circle for the birdie look. Beautifully done. Shot for shot right there.
Weatherman's second shot. Here's that turnover. Oh, it gets back to edge. What a shot. What a shot.
Chasing it around the corner. And that's going to do it for Hanley's opening day. All things
considered. Entire feature card under par. Hanson going to finish at six down. Second place. Cadence
Burge with the bogey. Brings her back to three. Tied with Holland. And separation already happening.
What an opening round here at the Discmania Challenge. Hi, my name is Cadence Burge. Thank you for
