This tutorial demonstrates how to create the Denim Cubed Bracelet using a variation of the St. Petersburg stitch. The project utilizes a mix of blue crazy lace gemstones, matte metallic cube beads, and silver seed beads to achieve a structured, modern look. The process involves building two parallel sides of cube-bead patterns connected by a central row of gemstones.
Hello everyone, I'm Chris and in this video we're going to learn how to make
the Denim Cubed Bracelet. The beads we're using for this are part of a curated
collection called Denim Casual. If you're interested in seeing the whole
collection there will be a link below or you may search for Denim Casual on
PotomacBeads.com. So what we're going to use is four millimeter round blue
crazy lace gemstones, 1.8 millimeter cube beads in matte metallic blue green iris,
15 oh silver Labrador full seed beads, and then to that we'll add our thread
which I'm using size 6 in the green with size 11 needle, and some wire guards,
jump rings, and a clasp of your choosing. So we're going to start with putting a
cube bead on our thread. We're going to use this as our stop bead and it will be
part of our project. So to do that we'll go right back through that stop bead or
that cube bead and I'm going to leave a couple inches on the end here. This is a
bracelet where we'll work up one side and then we'll come back down the other
side. So we'll use this tail thread to when we add our wire guard and then to
tie it off. So we added that one cube bead and made it our stop bead. We're now
going to add five cube beads. One, two, three, four, five. Push those down to that
stop bead and then we're going to go back through beads three and four. We're
going to count that stop bead. So we're going to take our thread and go back around
beads three and four and it'll create this kind of box. So here's beads three
and four. There's three. Grab four and then we'll scoot it down towards the
initial two that we have on the bottom here. So see how we created this little
cube? We're now going to pick up one 15O and then we're going to go down three of
those cube beads, the ones that are in a row. So go down three of those. So we're
coming out this third. That's our stop bead that we're going to use later. That's our
third bead. Now we're going to pick up one of our four millimeter gemstones and
we're going to go up these two cube beads off to the side here. And that's
basically it for the one side that we're going to do. So the next one we will add
four cube beads. One, two, three, four. We'll scoot those down. We'll then go back through the
first two beads and create that little square again. Go through those first two
beads. Create the little square. And you'll want to pull down that little cube so it's
pick up our gemstone. And go up through those other two. So like I said, this creates one
side of the bracelet. And it may start to curve on you a little bit. But once we put
the other side down here, it will pull it back so it's pretty straight. So you're going
to finish this to the length that you want. The demo piece here has 27 of the gemstones.
And from wire guard to wire guard, it's six and a half inches. So that gives you an idea
of how many you're going to need. So go ahead and make it to the length that you need and
I'll meet you back. Some jewelry you buy, but the pieces you love the most are the ones
you create. With the Potomac Beads Kit Box, every month you receive three beautiful jewelry
projects, each ready for your creativity. A piece for everyday moments, for time with
friends, and for evenings that shine. Because the jewelry that means the most is the jewelry
you made yourself. For every moment that matters, you made this. Potomac Beads Kit Box. Create
something beautiful. So I made an abbreviated version of the one side of the bracelet here.
And I forgot to mention, this is basically a St. Petersburg stitch. So at the top, I'm
coming out of these two cubes. What we need to do is change direction of the thread so
that we're going to go down the center of all of these gemstones and we're going to
place a 15-0 in between. So what I'm going to do is I'm coming out of this square cube
right here, I'm going to go across and through the cube that has the 15-0 at the top and
I'm going to go down one of those cubes just so that we can reverse direction here. So
grab, go down the one cube next to it that's right on the top of the 4mm gemstone. So we
go down through that cube and now we're facing the right direction. So I'm going to go through
the gemstone in this direction and put a 15-0 in between each of these gemstones until we
get to the end. So I'll go through the gemstone, we won't put a 15-0 in yet, and then I'm going
to grab a 15-0 and then go into the next gemstone, pick up another 15-0, go through the next gemstone,
pick up another 15-0, go through the next gemstone. So you'll continue that all the way down until
you're coming out of the last gemstone. We won't add a 15-0 at this place. So once you're coming
out of the last 4mm gemstone, we're now going to work our way back up the other side. So we're
going to pick up six cube beads, three, four, five, six, and then like we did before, we're going to go
through the third and fourth cube bead that we added to create that little square. There's the
third and the fourth one, so we end up with our little square there. And then what we'll do is
we'll pick up a 15-0 and we'll go up three of this line of four cube beads. So we put the 15-0 on,
now we go up three of those cube beads, and then we go through the top of that gemstone and then
go through the two cube beads. And we have our first little matching, I'll call them arms, I
don't know, so a set of six cube beads here with this little 15-0. So now the next thing we're
going to do is we're going to pick up four cube beads and then we're going to go back through the
first and second cube bead that we added to create that little square. So we'll pick up four, one, two,
three, four, and then we'll go through the first two that we just added, there we go, and then we
scoot that close to what we have there. So we will pick up a 15-0, we'll go through three of these four cube beads,
and then we'll go through the top of the four millimeter gemstone. Then we'll go through those
two cube beads that are on the side there, and then we'll repeat. So we'll pick up four cube beads, one, two, three, four, and then we go
back through the first two of those four cube beads that we added, we scoot it down, we pick up a 15-0, and we go
through three of those four cube beads, and then we go down the top of the next four millimeter gemstone, and then through those two cube beads that are by themselves.
Alright, and then you'll do the same thing all the way back up to the top. We'll add four cube beads, we'll make them into a square,
add the 15-0, go back down three of those cube beads and through the top of the next gemstone, and then through the two that are hanging out there.
So go ahead and finish the rest of the length of your bracelet. So I got all the way to the end, and then these last two cube beads, we're only going to go through the first one.
I'm going to add another cube bead, go up through the wire guard, add another cube bead, and go down between those two on the other side.
So pick up a cube bead, and the wire guard, and go down the wire guard, we'll pick up another cube bead, and then we're going to go between these two cube beads on this side,
and I'm going to head towards this gemstone. So go through that one, heading towards the gemstone.
And because this is a bracelet, I like to reinforce the wire guard here. So I'm going to go down through the gemstone, up these three cube beads,
so go down the gemstone, not through the 15-0 on the other end, we'll go up these three, like we did prior, these three cube beads,
we'll go over to the one cube bead of this pair, and then go up the one that we just added, through the wire guard, and down the one on the other side.
So go through that one, up through the cube bead that we just added, up through the wire guard, and down through the wire guard, and through that other one that we just added.
And then we'll do the same thing, we'll go through this one cube bead towards the gemstone.
So we have our wire guard on at this end, and then what we'll do is we'll go down through the gemstones and that 15-0 in between, until we come to the second to the last gemstone.
If you need to switch over to a size 12 needle to get through these 15-0s, go ahead and do that now.
I've gone through the gemstones and the 15-0s, and I did go through this last 15-0 before the final 4mm gemstone.
So now I'm going to come up through these two cube beads, cross over, and go down these four, so my thread's coming out the end.
So I'll go up those two cube beads, and then I'll go down these four, there's two of them, and then the other two.
So now I'll pick up my wire guard, and I'll go up the wire guard and down the wire guard, and then I'm going to go through these four cube beads over here,
cross over to these two cube beads, get the tail thread out of there, pick up this wire guard, and go up the wire guard, and then down the wire guard,
and then I'm going to go up these four beads on the other side, I'm going to go down these two beads, and like I did at the other end, I am going to reinforce it.
So I'm coming out of this cube bead here, I'm now going to scoot over and go down these two cube beads, around the wire guard, and back up the other two on the other side.
So I'm going to go up these two, go up the wire guard, down the wire guard, and go up these two.
And then what I'm going to do is I'm going to continue up these two, go across, down these two, and I'm working my way towards the tail thread so that I can tie it off.
My tail thread is over here, so I'm going to cut across, go up these two, down these four, and that's where my tail thread is.
So I'll cut across, go up these two, down these four, and then I'm at my initial tail thread.
So I'll tie that off in a knot, right over left, left over right, and then burn off the ends here, and then you can attach your clasp of choosing with the jump rings here.
And then you have finished your bracelet.
