Your bean queen has returned with another healthy delicious dessert made
with beans. We're doing black bean brownies today and they are
my best brownie yet. I have been perfecting them for
years and these are by far the fudgiest, the ooey gooey-est,
the the most browniest brownies you will ever eat and they taste
way more indulgent than they really are because they're made with all whole
plant foods and you are seriously going to love them. Good luck not eating
the whole tray in one go. I love turning beans into
desserts and other things like chickpea blondies, lentil waffles,
omelettes, pizza crusts, and more so if you love healthy high-protein
plant-based recipes and haven't joined the fam yet,
do that right here. Subscribe below and let's get into these
delicious healthy black bean brownies that are made in one bowl.
Okay so first things first, you're gonna need to grab yourself
a food processor. Using a food processor just makes
these so much easier because you throw it all in one bowl,
you hit blend, and you got brownie batter. That easy.
Now these are a black bean brownie recipe so
naturally we need some black beans. I'm just using the canned variety.
This is a roughly 19 ounce can or about two cups so if you want to
cook your own beans from scratch, you do that. Just use two cups for this recipe
straight into the bowl of your food processor. These are our main source
of protein and fiber for these brownies and
oh my god they add the most amazing fudgy
squidgy factor and you will not taste them. Guaranteed.
Next we've got some medjool dates. These kind are like
super plump, they're juicy, they're caramelly, and they add also amazing
really fudgy texture and they add some natural sweetness.
For more sweetness we're going to add a quarter cup plus two
tablespoons of maple syrup. You can also use date syrup if you want.
For extra richness and deliciousness we're going to add
a quarter cup of tahini which is sesame seed paste.
Next goes in two flax eggs which is basically just
two tablespoons of ground flaxseed and five tablespoons of water.
Mix together until you have a nice thick gelatinous
plant-based egg mixture. A teaspoon of vanilla
and then for the dry ingredients we've got some raw cacao powder. I've got
six tablespoons or a quarter cup plus two tablespoons. Make sure you sift it
before it goes in to prevent any lumps and clumps from not blending properly.
If you don't have raw cacao just use cocoa. Next we've got a quarter cup
of some chocolate plant-based protein powder. The brand that I love using
is Compliment. I love their chocolate flavor and I just love their protein
powders in general. They're super clean. All the ingredients
are literally right on the front here so if you're looking for a healthy
plant-based protein powder to try out I highly recommend you check them out in
the description box below and I've got a sweet little discount
code for you to boot. And then we've got just some you know good old
baking essentials like salt, baking powder, baking soda. Those are
pretty much all whole foods like there's like
nothing in there that I'm like questionable. Nothing. That's why I love
these brownies so much. Okay lid on. Party on.
Now all we gotta do is just blend on high speed until we have a really nice
thick brownie batter and it should look something
like this. So thick it's like it won't even come off the spatula.
That's exactly the type of thickness and and fudginess we are going for.
Like come on people look at that. You could absolutely just eat this on
its own. You don't even have to bake it. Just take out the baking powder and
baking soda. Oh so good. Alright I'm just sad I'm not
making brownies anymore. I'm just gonna eat this. Bye.
Kidding. I wouldn't do that to you. I would.
Alright so next I've got half a cup of some semi-sweet
chocolate chips. These are vegan. If you want to
you know use some that are sugar-free or sweetened with coconut sugar you totally
can but we're just going to stir them into
the batter here reserving some for topping
because you know we want to make her look fancy and then just
stir them in with a spatula and try not to eat
all the batter while you're doing this.
You saw nothing. Grab yourself a 9x9 or an 8x8
baking tin or whatever and some parchment paper.
Now what I like to do is actually crumple it all up
like this into a ball because it actually makes
working with it a lot easier and it becomes a lot more like pliable
bendable. It's easier than like trying to fold all these nice
pretty creases in it. It's just yeah this works better.
Now you can press it into the bottom and kind of just shove it in the corners
there and I find it stays just fine. It doesn't have to be
perfect. And now just scoop all of your batter
right inside of the tin. It is oh my god it's so thick.
Look at that. And then just do your best to smooth it into
an even layer. This will take a minute or two because
she's thick. I don't know what it is but there's something so satisfying about
smoothing things into even layers. I don't know what it is but it does
things to my brain. Let me know in the comments if you are
like me. Oop oven's preheated. Now I like to top my brownies with
really like any kind of chopped nut. Today I'm gonna do some chopped
peanuts because that's what I have and I just feel like
this is gonna be epic and it'll look really pretty. And of
course those extra chocolate chips because if we're not completely
encrusted in nuts and chocolate chips we aren't
making brownies. We're gonna pop this in a 900
900 degrees. Where am I?
A 350 fahrenheit degree oven. I think that would burn my house down.
We're gonna bake them for 25 to 30 minutes. Basically just until we're
looking a little bit crackly on top and when they come out of the oven
they are going to look very undercooked. Rather
if you were to insert a toothpick it's gonna come out
basically not cooked. While you're baking your brownies in your 900 degree
fahrenheit oven you can go ahead finish the brownie
batter in your bowl but also subscribe below to
