Leah Kyle's famous quick dress change act finally revealed. Leah started off the performance by magically appearing a hanger from thin air. She then made a red dress appear on the hanger. She then went inside a box on stage and came back out with a red dress on. She picked up a red cloth, moved it around herself, and magically did a quick change into a black outfit. She then moved next to the change room on the stage, pulled the black cloth in front of her, and magically did another quick change into a blue dress. Leah moved to the small wardrobe and picked a blue dress from the hanger, and upon removing the dress, a dark blue floral dress magically appeared on the empty hanger. She picked up the two dresses and moved them in front of her, and magically changed her dress once again. Leah picked a white paper flower and dropped it, and the petals of the flower also started to fall. As soon as the petals fell down, her dress also peeled away, revealing another black dress underneath it. She then took out another black top from the hanger and moved in front of the stage, she jerked the top, and a red flower appeared on the top. Leah then magically produced two large red flowers out of the black top, and upon waving one of the flowers in front of her, her dress changed once again. She then picked up a hat from the mannequin on stage, and as she waved it over the mannequin in the blue dress, the blue dress magically turned into a red dress, with a red hat on top of the mannequin. Leah proceeded to do an impressive quick change, where she then pointed at the dress, and a green dress magically flew onto her. She then picked up the red flower that she previously placed on the box, and pulled out a yellow petal from it which turns into a ball of light. She proceeded to duplicate the ball of light. Leah then rubbed the two lights on her green dress, and magically turned it into a red dress. She picked up silver confetti and threw it into the air, which then turned her red dress into another black dress. She then held onto a black pole with a black cloth on it from the side of the box, and waved it over the hangers to magically appear new dresses there, and she proceeded to wave it over herself, and magically changed her dress once again into a blue dress, and also appeared multiple hangers with new dresses on them. So how did she perform this trick? Here is the secret. In the first trick, Leah magically made a hanger appear in her hands out of nowhere. You can see that before she produces the hanger, her hands move towards the center of her chest, and appear to grab something with her fingers. We can see that before her hands move towards her chest, a small, white, thin object can be seen visible in the frame before she covers it with her hands. And when she raises her hands up, that white object is no longer visible. We can then also spot something black in color right over here, as I play this clip in slow motion back and forth. Well, this black object is in fact the hanger that she produced, but the hanger is folded. You can see in the diagram how the hanger is folded, and in order to make the silver colored hanger appear, she unfolded the hanger like so. The white colored object we spotted earlier on her chest was actually a white colored thread that was attached to one end of the hanger. That white thread can also be seen right over here in this frame, held by her right thumb. That white thread was simply to help her perform the illusion as cleanly as possible with minimal movement. Furthermore, the purpose of one side of the hanger to be colored black was to help it camouflage with her black colored clothing. Upon opening up the hanger, we can spot the black colored cloth that was attached with the foldable hanger right over here. For the next illusion, she produced a red dress on the hanger. Well, you may have already guessed how this works. You can see in this slowed down clip that she moves the hanger towards her waist and pulls the dress from the black colored maxi she is wearing. We can even spot the red dress underneath her maxi over here in this frame, due to its vibrant color and how thin her clothing is. Another important thing I want to add is that all the dresses she is changing into are made out of silk. The reason silk is used is due to its extremely thin material and flexibility. Another important property of silk is its breathability, which means that it reduces the risk of overheating, especially since Leah Kyle is wearing multiple layers of silk to perform this illusion. You can see that right before she produces the red dress, there is a small tab right over here, which is black in color above the maxi. She actually reached for this black colored tab when she moved the hanger above her waist. Upon pulling the black tab, she was able to hold on to the entire dress and made it look like the dress appeared on the hanger, when in fact it's not really attached with the hanger, rather is being held with her right thumb against the hanger. You can even see in this frame, when she is switching the grip from her right side to her left side, she carefully passes the tab she is holding with her right hand towards her left hand. For the next illusion, she performs a second quick change, in which she wears the red dress she produced on the hanger immediately inside the change room on stage. Well, the red dress she is now wearing is not the same red dress that appeared on the hanger, but in fact, she was wearing this red dress the entire time right underneath her black clothing. So what she did in the change room was two things. The first thing was simply to throw the hanger with a red dress inside the change room, and the second thing was to remove the black dress she's wearing to reveal the red one underneath. In order to remove the black dress, she had help. This change room was not empty at all, rather she had an assistant. In this case, the assistant was her boyfriend she mentioned in the intro. His name is Florian, who is also a magician. You can see in this comparison image of before and after, the change that the red dress was well hidden underneath the black dress, to the point that her red colored shoes were even covered due to the length of the maxi. The removal of the black dress required a helper to make her illusion more convincing, because she never let go of the curtains of the change room while performing the change. Now while performing the third change, I want you to take note of two things. The first thing is this clear thread that is shaped like a loop from her right side of the dress. And the second thing is the fact that the bare skin we see on her knees and her chest is not her skin at all, rather skin colored silk. You can even see in this close-up, there is a clear difference between the skin colored silk and her neck, and there are also wrinkles in the skin colored silk. While performing the third change under the cover of the large red cloth, she reached for the clear thread that is attached with the opposite sides of her dress. This clear thread served a simple purpose. You see, the dress she is wearing is only held up against her body mainly by the shoulders. By pulling on that invisible thread from both sides of her body, she detached the two straps right over here, and let gravity do the rest of the work. When she drops the red colored cloth, we can see the invisible wiring that was attached with the straps right over here. We can even see the skin colored silk in this frame too. The reason she used the red cloth to perform this change was simply to camouflage the red clothing that was on the floor right underneath her. We even spot this black colored dress she is now transformed into in this frame, when she is running towards the change room to grab the red flag. To perform the fourth change, in which she changes into a light blue colored dress, she did the same effect but with a different cover. We can once again spot her moving her hands towards her waist to grab the invisible wire, and in this frame we can clearly see the invisible wires that are no longer invisible due to the background. Upon pulling the invisible wire, once again loosens up the two straps right over here, and we can clearly see in this frame her straps falling down and allowing gravity to do the rest of the work for her. So the black dress is now behind this flap of the change room. Leah then produced a dress on an empty hangar with a snap of her fingers. This dress was actually hidden inside the hangar. You can see in this slowed down clip that the bottom side of the dress was attached with a hangar. The bottom side of the dress was attached with the front half of the hangar, whereas the second half of the hangar was attached with the top of the dress. We noticed that the first half of the hangar has a black thick outline right above it. This black portion was extra thick to give more area to hide the folded up silk dress inside it. In order to split the first and second half of the hangar, Leah actually reached for an invisible thread right beside the metal rod over here, and you can see her left hand reaching for it, and upon pulling that invisible thread, the two halves of the hangar split apart to reveal the dress. There's a reason a similar blue coloured dress was hanging over here on the hangar. This is to help her perform her second change. You can see that when she performs her second change into a white flap dress, she pulls on her blue dress she's wearing with her right hand. And by doing so, the blue dress that was attached on her backside with titch buttons was immediately pulled off and camouflaged with the blue dress she was already holding in her right hand, therefore making it easier for her to vanish the blue dress without making it look suspicious. Leah then reached for a paper flower above the change room. This paper flower was simply pieces of paper cut out in the shape of petals, held together at the corner with a paper clip that you can see in this frame. This paper clip also held the paper flower with the metal frame right over here. She simply removed the paper clip and all the petal cutouts of the paper flower immediately separated. After the paper flower illusion, her flapped white dress peeled to reveal a black dress underneath. This was also performed with the help of her assistant inside the change room. You can see that she moved her back nearer to the change room. By doing so, an invisible thread that was sewn through each of the silver coloured silk flaps was loosened and fell to the ground due to gravity. Leah then picked a black coloured dress from the hangar and made a red coloured flower appear on it. She then produced two giant flowers from inside the black coloured dress. To make the red coloured flower appear, the black dress worked like a flap you can see in the diagram. She simply let go of the flap from the top and by doing so, gravity pulled it down and made the other side of the flap appear. All these giant flowers are actually magic props that can be bought on AliExpress, known as puny production flower gimmicks. These simply work like an umbrella. You can see in this slowed down clip how this prop opens up. The black dress out of which she produced the giant flowers is hidden right behind this flower in her right hand. When she goes to hang this red flower on the change room, the black dress is hidden right behind it. She then waves one of the large flowers above her black dress to change into a paint coloured dress. We can see a clear split lining right at the centre of her black dress right over here. She once again had help from her assistant who pulled the dress from her backside and by doing so you can see in this frame by frame that dress splitting from the top towards the bottom and moving into the change room. We can even see the metal strip on top of the change room jerking right over here because of the pulling motion of her assistant. Leia then produces a red coloured dress and a top hat on top of the mannequin by moving a black top hat over it. In order to perform this illusion, two things were happening. The first thing involved the black hat. The black hat was not a single hat, rather two hats that were placed on top of each other. You can see in the diagram that the bottom red coloured hat was inside the top black coloured hat. By doing so, it appeared as if the black hat was a single top hat. Now to produce the red dress on the mannequin, the mannequin was designed in a special way. I want you to take note of these two lines. These two lines are the opposite ends of one piece of cloth that is wrapped around the chest of the mannequin. In order to reveal the red dress, here is a diagram showing how the dress appeared behind the black top hat. Another important thing I want to point out, which will be important later on in the performance, is related to the moment when she goes to pick up the black top hat from on top of the mannequin the first time. When she goes to pick up this top hat, she places both her left and her right thumb into two thumb tips that are attached right underneath the black top hat. These thumb tips are no ordinary thumb tips, rather have red coloured lights inside them. You can also buy these thumb tips from any magic shop or aliexpress. We can spot the first thumb tip on her right thumb here, and we can see the second thumb tip on her left thumb here. Leia then does another dress change, in which she changes her dress from pink to a green coloured dress. In order to perform this illusion, the dress that is hanging over here is not a dress at all, rather a simple silk cutout of a single cloth, which you can see at this side view. This silk cutout is attached with a reel that is controlled with a remote. This flying silk attached with reel magic trick is also available on aliexpress, as you can see. Now that we know how she made the green silk dress cutout fly, you may have already figured out how she changed her pink dress into a green coloured dress. In order to perform this illusion, once again the helper, inside the change room, pulled her dress from the back, and the dress went inside the change room. Funny thing is, in this frame right over here, we can also see the assistant inside the change room, wearing a black glove, reach towards Leia's back, and grab onto her pink dress. In her next dress change, she visually changes her green dress into a red dress, by waving small red lights over her suit. In order to perform this illusion, a different material was used. We had already spotted the moment she wore the thumb tips that contained the light. This particular layer of the dress she's wearing is actually designed in a very clever way. She's using a thin mesh cloth that looks like this up close, and as you can see in this illustration, it's placed right above the green and red layer. In between the red dress and the thin mesh is that very green coloured silk cloth, which is being pulled back by her assistant into the change room. This creates a very convincing illusion, as if the green dress is turning red. She then places both of her hands to grab the silver confetti from the opposite ends of the change room. During this moment, we spot her ditching the thumb tips into the pockets that contained the silver confetti. Once again, to perform the change into the swimsuit, the assistant in the change room pulled her dress, causing it to split from the front, as you can see in this frame by frame, and move into the change room. She then picks up a black flag and waves it over the wardrobe to make several dresses magically appear on the hangers. To perform this illusion, I want you to take note of one thing. You can see in this frame something black in colour and rectangular in shape behind the clothes that appeared on the hanger. This black rectangular thing is none other than the internal flap that is attached to the top of this wardrobe. She simply pulled down on the flap, causing it to immediately fall, and revealed the dresses that were hidden inside the top portion of the wardrobe. And for the final change, in which she changed from her swimsuit to an entire blue dress, while holding four other dresses, she did two things at once. The first thing was to simply pull out the four dresses that were inside the black flag, and you can see at this moment she's pulling them out. Furthermore, these dresses are not actually full dresses, rather are single thin pieces of silk that are shaped like suits, but are actually unwearable. And to change the clothes she was wearing, she pulled onto the final invisible thread that is attached to the black blouse. By pulling on the black blouse, she immediately let go of the final hidden blue dress that was wrapped up tightly underneath it.
