Taylor Townsend vs. Camila Osorio | 2026 Cincinnati Round 1 | WTA Match Highlights

Hello and welcome to the Cincinnati Open and this illustrious historic tournament welcomes Taylor Townsend onto the Tony Traber Stadium 3. Huge ovation for the American and a South American up against her in the form of Camilla Azorio. Nice easy start for Azorio. Yeah brilliantly played from Azorio didn't she disguise it well. Serving breakdown at 1-3 and 8 here. I love that here in Mason, Ohio. Yeah it was a pretty poor shot the time before that from Townsend but Azorio does enough to stave off the first. Still came in Austin, Texas early in the season lost to a fellow American Peyton Stearns. Gamble tried to come in wasn't anywhere near a good enough approach shot from Taylor Townsend and Camilla Azorio took the challenge and wins a 40 minutes set here with quite a bit of ease I have to say. 6-3. Turn that point around beautifully what a shot that was on the forehand the best win of the match so far. Oh that's a very good shot was looking tricky there wasn't it back tracking overhead just behind it. 1-2 yeah lovely back behind well worked out that's too good takes a point off the first serve takes the break and so leading 4-3 the first time she's broken Azorio in the match still set point it ends with an error off the racket of Camilla Azorio so right back in this one then still nowhere near her best you have to say but Azorio's first serve needs to improve and Townsend all round needs to improve who's going to go through so one set shootout coming up. Miraculous just like her reaction absolutely stunning ovation for just over two hours and 10 minutes of work for Taylor Townsend a very poor start you have to say Camilla Azorio was the more consistent but the crowd in the end a stunning ovation
