I genuinely do really love my job.
Good morning everyone. Happy Monday. I thought today would be a good day to show you
what it's like being an OBGYN medical assistant. I am so tired but healthcare can really
crustify you. So I still try my best to do my skincare, put on a little makeup to feel better
because it's a long shift and I don't want to feel gross for the whole day. So let's do my
skincare routine. I have to be in the office around 8 15, 8 30. I'm always rushing in the
Like I said, I work in OBGYN. It's quite hectic, quite high pressure, especially when you're
working with OB pregnant patients. A lot can go wrong. Oh my god, this is so high cortisol
because my SD card keeps dying. I also have an event after work today. So I will also kind of
show you the career side while working in medicine in San Francisco. I've been at this job
for a year-ish now. The most basic part of my responsibilities is probably paperwork and
rooming patients and it goes to as high skill or high pressure as administering injections and
assisting in small procedures such as hysteroscopies in the office. I genuinely do really
love my job and I love what I do. It does definitely just drain you. You are always on
and always on the floor and at some times it does get very very stressful. Guys, it's only Monday
and I'm so tired already and I'm always freaking shiny at work. My favorite would be so far,
I got this at Marshalls. I think that should be enough to look presentable at work for now.
Today we're going to wear my Cherokee scrubs because these are my favorite color.
Let's go make some coffee. We made it to work. Look how cute. 20 patients today. It looks like
mostly annuals as it usually is. A pregnancy confirmation just got here which is exciting.
I stopped all the rooms on Friday so I don't need to do that but I just roomed my first
colposcopy patient. Let's grab the rest of our patients.
Work to just reset a little. Well, first I have this barbell that my sister bought me.
Next is this lip balm, my absolute fave. Keeps my lips so moisturized in my shift.
And lastly, my L'Occitane hand cream. My hands get so dry. I try to wash my hands in between
patients because it's a clinic but the only downside is this is a pretty high quality cream
and I wash my hands so much that I feel bad for washing it off.
It's finally lunchtime. We get a 30-minute lunch break. Honestly, I'm talking to patients all day,
answering phone calls so I just like to sit in my car and if I can, eat my food and listen to
music, scroll TikTok, read a book and just like not be on the screen. I'm gonna eat my lunch.
I just roomed my one of my favorite patients. She's like an elderly lady and she always holds
my hand and it's like, hi Michelle, it's so good to see you. I'm so happy every time I see her.
Every time I'm impressed with who she is.
