Melanie Lynskey talks working with Sunny Sandler

And you and Sonny are so dynamic and natural and funny on screen together. I'm wondering if you can talk to me about the first time you met Sonny, to like the conversations you had with her about your characters and working with her on screen. Yeah, the first time I met her was just like in an office, in the production office. And she came in, she was so sort of disarming and sweet and such a genuine teenager. I didn't really know. I had seen her, the Bar Mitzvah movie, and I thought she was great in it, and that was nice. But just to meet her and see how completely like unguarded and genuine she is, was a real relief. I was like, okay, this is great. She's a real sweet human being. And then getting to know her, it's just been a joy. She's so caring. She's so thoughtful. She's just been raised well. They're just like a good family, and she's a really good kid, and she works so hard. You know, she would have a day off and she would have to be in musical theatre rehearsals and just working so hard all the time. And I just really appreciate her and was really grateful that we had a true bond with each other, that we didn't have to fake.
