A family documents their travels through San Sebastian, Spain, and Biarritz, France. The trip features visits to an amusement park, a cider house, and an aquarium, highlighting the ease of traveling with children in Europe and the use of AI for itinerary planning and translation.
All right, another day here in San Sebastian, Spain.
We are going to the amusement park.
It is like one of the main attractions here.
A short 30 minute walk.
I have to tell you, we have been walking so much.
I'm also training for a marathon,
so I've been running and it's been crazy.
So I've already completed a 10 mile run this morning.
Now we are walking about 35 minutes
to a vehicular, I can't pronounce it right,
but it's like a train that goes up a mountain.
And then we're going to be at the amusement park.
I cannot wait to take you all along with us.
It's going to be so much fun.
The boys are enjoying a little cookie.
Let me show you.
They're enjoying their little cookies.
Say hi, Carson.
Hi.
Ah, Colton, say hello.
Hello.
And then we got Brayden back here with mom.
Bray, how are you today?
Oh, he not good?
Courtney, how are you?
Doing great.
Yay.
Look at this y'all, San Sebastian.
This is so fun.
We're about to be right at the beach
and we just walk along side the beach.
At first, this beach kind of scared me,
just so many people.
But once you get out there, it is so beautiful.
So let me show you.
This is one of the two main beaches here.
This is the main one for swimming.
And the other one is for surfing.
So this one's really family-friendly
just because the waves really aren't that much.
So then you can see over here,
we really do think that San Sebastian
is probably the perfect size town.
There's a lot to do here.
It doesn't feel like a big, big city.
Barcelona definitely felt more like New York City,
but Calmer, this does not feel like that at all.
It's like a beach town meets island life,
although we're not on an island, so that's really neat.
Okay, we're at the funicular.
As you can see, it is a very popular place.
Lots of people are here.
We've already been waiting in line like 15 minutes maybe.
But yeah, really cool.
We're up at the top of San Sebastian.
I think we can walk.
And then we're about to go up on it,
which you can't really see it,
but it's somewhere like right over here.
Brayden, what do you wanna say?
There's no hose up there.
Yeah, it's gonna be perfect.
We're gonna go on a slow boat, right?
Yes.
Let's go.
Hey, Carson, what are we doing?
We're going up on the funicular.
Funicular.
Oh my goodness.
What do you think, Bray?
I like it.
What do you think, Cole?
I like it.
Chicken butt, chicken butt, chicken butt.
Hey, we're going on the funicular.
Whoa, y'all, this is the famous boat.
Wow.
All right, y'all, it's almost our turn
to go on this little boat ride.
As you can see, here it is.
This is what we're doing.
I mean, with the most spectacular views ever.
It's about our turn.
Woo-hoo, we're on our boat ride.
Woo-hoo, this is crazy.
So cool.
Look at this.
Carson, what do you think?
Woo.
Wow.
We're going through the tidal.
Woo-hoo.
Spooky.
Yeah.
Whoa.
It's Peter Pan.
Carson.
Captain Hook.
Woo-hoo.
A Ferris wheel.
Woo.
Oh my, what?
Okay, hold on.
Hold on.
That's so cool.
Woo.
All powers.
Ha-ha, a turtle.
All right, we're on a train ride.
Are you guys ready for the train?
I think he's making you a balloon right now.
In a lot of lines.
This was the shortest line.
And then the crazy little roller coaster
we just did was wild.
But the line to get on the vehicular
and then the line for the boat ride,
obviously, was the longest.
Definitely has been a longer event than we thought,
but it's fine, it's fine.
We're having a lot of fun.
It's really warm today.
And it's only getting warmer.
The high is, I believe, like in the 80s.
So nothing super, super crazy.
But warm for this area.
Yeah.
And mommy lost her shoe and I don't like that one.
Yeah.
Mommy lost her shoe, but they got it for her.
Okay, because we want to go on this train ride.
Yep.
Dinosaur.
Yeah.
What about the dinosaur, Dad?
And it has a volcano.
Whoa.
Look, it's going so fast.
I mean, I'm a little scared.
Oh, oh, it's speeding up.
There's a dinosaur.
Rawr.
Oh, wow.
Another dinosaur.
Oh, no.
Whoa.
You have to straighten up to go.
Whoa.
Yo, we are fishing.
Here, Bray.
Daddy will help you.
Let's catch one.
I don't know.
This is hard.
Oh, we got one.
All right, boys.
Hop on in.
Woo-hoo.
We're in the verticular.
Wow.
This is so fun.
Pick a side.
All right.
What did everyone think about the amusement park?
I didn't like that ride.
But everything else you loved?
What about the boat ride?
Did you love the boat ride?
Yes.
Okay, Colton, did you love it?
Yeah.
Carson, did you love it?
I loved the roller coaster.
I didn't love the boat ride.
Wow, look at these winning prizes.
Who loved playing the games?
Me.
Yeah, so fun.
Oh my goodness, we got our own vehicular.
Okay, yesterday we had so much fun
at the amusement park.
It was incredible, outstanding,
asides from the lines.
And then today, we are actually going
with our entire camp to a cider house.
We're gonna learn about how apples turn into cider
and have lunch.
So we're walking over.
Let me just show you our walk.
So we are in Old Town,
and we're just walking in just a couple minutes,
and we will be at the bus stop.
We're taking a bus with like 45 other people.
I think it's like six or seven families.
And yeah, we're just go,
go over to a farm and learn about it.
So come along with us.
Boys, are you ready to have a good day?
Look there.
Yeah, we see a bus.
That's not our bus.
Here, look at the camera and tell us
if you're ready to have a good day.
I'm ready.
What about you, Car?
No, Carson's not ready, still waking up.
There we go.
Brayden.
Yay.
We got our apples.
What are we gonna do, Bray?
We're gonna eat some apples.
Are we really?
Whoa, watch yourself.
All right, y'all.
We are actually in Brit, France today.
We just had a driver bring us,
and we just had an amazing cookie.
And we had a Cortado,
which they do not call Cortado's Cortado's here,
which I did not know.
So they call it something else.
We're having so much fun.
So the boys have really leveled up.
We only have one stroller today for our entire adventure.
We're not using a double.
So yeah, we're just having fun.
We're gonna do some shopping,
and then we're going to head to the aquarium.
Okay, so the drive was about 45 minutes.
And yeah, it's Sunday.
What a great day to be here.
The weather's perfect.
We're about to walk through, do some more shopping,
and then we're also going to go to a market
that's really famous here on our walk to the aquarium.
So come along, Brits, France.
I mean, this is just perfection.
It's just so good, and we love it.
So let's go.
Okay, y'all.
We are just perusing the streets of Brits.
I hope I'm saying it right.
If you know I'm pronouncing it wrong, I'm sorry.
But yeah, I mean, y'all,
can you even believe a whole other country
didn't even have to give our passports, which is crazy?
But yeah, we're going through these street vendors.
So fun.
Look at all of this.
Okay, y'all, Courtney was just wanting one of these bags.
And look.
Ooh.
Look at this also.
We are transforming a single into a double stroller.
It's working out very interestingly.
Yeah, it's so fun.
The boys are trying to be a little more free range here.
Y'all, look at all of this.
I mean, can you even imagine everything going on in here?
It is just wild.
Just wild.
And all my children want is a bag of chips.
We are walking to the aquarium.
Barrett's.
Well, first of all, without two strollers,
it's hard to vlog because all my hands are occupied.
But yeah, we're loving it.
Barrett's is so fun.
It's very different energy
than San Sebastian in a really good way.
It's very relaxed, very chill.
I want to eat everything here.
Like y'all, I'm just going to record some of the streets
because it's so special.
Dad can't eat everything.
Where's your protein?
What's your protein today?
Cheese.
So we're just livin' it up.
We have the one-boy stroller.
Crushin' it.
We're crushin' it.
So off to the aquarium we go.
We're gonna find a shark there.
At the aquarium?
Yeah.
So good.
Okay, y'all, we just finished the aquarium.
I had ChatGBT make our full itinerary
and we are like right on schedule.
Like it is crazy.
I told it all the things we wanted to do,
where we're coming from.
It even put like all the addresses of where I'm headed.
So I just copy and paste it into Google Maps.
I was able to give it to my driver.
So it's all been really simple
and the aquarium was top-notch.
One thing I wanted to note is that,
I don't know if I've touched on this or not,
but if you are not familiar,
like Europe is just so much cheaper than America
in so many ways.
For example, a family of five going to the aquarium,
like a Ripley's Aquarium would be so expensive,
like $250, $300 I would say.
It was $67 for us to go to the aquarium here
and we just spent like close to an hour and a half.
So many animals, so many exhibits, so many fun things.
Very impressive.
Coffee here, $1.92 euros,
which is, you know, just a little bit more US.
For every one euro is $1.16 USD.
So that's something to consider as well.
So yeah, we're really having a great time.
The next thing on our agenda
is to just do a little bit more walking,
maybe do a sweet treat.
We have an early dinner at 4.30, 4.15
at a restaurant,
and I already had Chachabitty take their whole menu
because we're in France.
I keep talking in Spanish, like, hola,
you know, different things like that.
And they're all like, bonjour.
So that's funny being just 45 minutes from, you know,
Spain and now we're in France.
So anyway, we translated the entire menu to English.
So when we get to the restaurant,
I, on my itinerary I made,
just have the whole menu in English for us
to make it super simple
because with as many allergies as I have
and just all the different things like that,
you just want to be able to know what you're ordering.
I almost ate a pine nut the other day
and it was because we were trying to, like,
translate ourself the words.
And I was like, oh, Courtney, is this a bean?
And she's like, no, it's a pine nut.
Like, stop.
So save the day.
I'm also carrying my EpiPen in my inhaler in here.
And the boys just got their little souvenir
from the aquarium.
Boys, show us what you got.
What did you guys get?
I got a treasure!
Where's your rocks?
There's rocks in there.
Oh my goodness!
Show us your rocks!
Whoa, whoa, whoa, Colton, don't lose your rocks.
All right, y'all, we are at our lunch spot.
We are waiting 20 minutes for the kitchen to open
and we're a little early.
We got rocks all over.
So fun.
Okay, y'all, we just got back to San Sebastian
and we are participating in their crazy, crazy festival.
It's like a week-long festivity.
It's so insane.
They just brought a carnival
and we're living it up while it rains.
Crazy.
Here we go, woo-hoo!
Go, Colty!
Woo-hoo!
