All right, welcome back to TMZ Sports. Lucas, Luca, and Towanda here.
Mike Vrabel turned 51 years old on Friday, and what a year it was for him.
Oh, great. A Super Bowl appearance, a great season. Oh, and then like not only the biggest
off-field controversy the NFL has seen in quite some time with Diana Rossini.
Well, coach was able to put that behind him a little bit at the Patriots facility on Thursday,
one day ahead of his big birthday. And there was a special appearance from one of the biggest
Patriots superfans out there. Watch this moment. I'm the biggest Pat's fan. God bless you all.
Great season. Looking forward to it. All right. I'll see you out there on the playing field.
Yes, that is Jon Bon Jovi, the guy who brought us Living on a Prayer,
among other awesome classic hits. He's a cowboy, a steel horse. We get it. I'm a cowboy.
To see Mike Vrabel light up like this is pretty cool because yeah, he was a player for the
Patriots. Bon Jovi was a guy who went to training camp all the time with his little youngins before
they went on to go marry Millie Bobby Brown. He was a guy who's been around the team for a very,
very long time. And so to have him come in and explain to the rest of the roster,
who probably needed to check Wikipedia to see what he was all about. But yeah,
a cool moment for a coach who has been through quite a lot over the past couple of months.
As you know, if you've been tuning into TMZ Sports, this is a nice little lighthearted moment.
Yeah. I mean, I think this is pretty smart by the Patriots to bring in Bon Jovi because I feel like
at these milestones for a guy like Mike Vrabel at this point, whether it's a birthday,
maybe a marriage anniversary or something, people are going to come and start talking
about what happened over the summer and all the controversy that Mr. Mike Vrabel found himself in.
And I think this kind of distracts from it a little bit. You kind of have him kind of
forget about it. And the media is now like, oh, Bon Jovi, instead of saying, oh, I wonder
how Jen Vrabel is going to be celebrating Mike tonight for his birthday. I feel like it's a
distraction a little bit. But I think that this is good. And if it's somebody who's a true Patriots
fan being in there and saying, getting a happy birthday by Bon Jovi, I think that's a pretty
cool thing. I just don't like that this man is being celebrated. And this whole thing just has
me so contorted because I don't condone homewrecking. I don't condone homewrecking,
period. I don't condone women that are knowingly involving themselves with men that are in
relationships, marriages, whatever the case. I don't condone men cheating on their wives,
girlfriends, dealing with women that are in relationships. However, Diana has really just
got the shortest end of the stick on this. I mean, Mike is being celebrated. He's being celebrated.
His career is thriving. He's got Bon Jovi at training camp. He's looking. And then there's
Diana, who is probably literally at home watching him being celebrated. And I just hate that. I know
as a football coach, what you do outside of coaching is not part of your contract.
But I just cannot get with the fact that we are just all just throwing this scandal under the rug,
sweeping it away and just letting Mike live the best life he can live. I mean, Bon Jovi, really?
Come on. That's that's a great gift. Speaking of gifts, we are told the Patriots gave Mike
Vrabel two free months of marriage counseling. That is. Oh, I wish they would.
That's a great point here. There was really only one person impacted by this whole thing. You know,
Vrabel came out, gave his statement, and then everyone seemed to move on.
While Roussini still is out of the gig, she resigned from the athletic and as of right
now does not have another job. She's probably not going to get one. That's the sad story.
That's the sad way. And we're journalists. We are you know, we work at a news organization.
I do understand that the risk were higher for her as a journalist. You cannot, you know,
get involved anyway with the subjects that you're covering. But at the same time, I just I don't
want to say I feel bad for her because she knew what she was doing. But at the same time, I do
feel bad for Diana for sure.
