Hi there! Welcome back on The Italian Gal. In this video I'm going to show you what I did
because I didn't exactly know what to do with my life now that I finished my exams and so this
video it's a guide to show you what to do when you don't know what to do in your life. So a few days
ago I did something that honestly helped me a lot. I took this huge piece of paper and I started
creating this map called what I want to do with my life. I know it sounds a little dramatic
but like a week ago I finished all my uni exams and for the first time in my life I didn't have
something to look up to. It's always been a continued cycle for me. I always like for example
after my bachelor I had my master, after my high school I had my bachelor. It was always like this
for every finishing line that I had I always had planned something more that I needed to do after
that and for the first time in my life I worked so I accumulated some money and now I'm not working
anymore. I studied, I finished all my exams, all that I got left is my dissertation but that is
that takes a day and for the first time in my life I sat with myself and I was like
do I really need to get a job right now or this is the perfect time for me to work on something else
and if this something else exists what exactly it is? Because a lot of us when we think about doing
stuff, when we have a blank space we need to fill, almost everyone becomes ADHD.
It's always like a lot of things that we want to do but they do not link together and
it's for this. We need a map. So today I'm gonna walk you through what I wrote in my map and that
helped me a lot having the big picture on what I want to do with my life. So I'm gonna explain
everything all the branches that I put on my map and I hope you like this video. So I have a lot
of things written down because I do not want to forget anything. Usually on the map every branch
has the same level of importance. In my case this is not the case because my first branch is my
evergreen and it's health. For me the most important things in life it's not work, it's not
getting the job, my dream job, it's my health and the health of the people I love. Of course I wish
health to everyone but this is my evergreen. Now we are not just writing things just for the purpose
of it you know and so every branch has steps to follow. The first thing that I wrote under this
branch is check-up and prevention. So every year I want to do all the medical examinations that I
need to do. Prevention is one of the greatest tools that we have. Of course we cannot control
like having a random illness, we cannot control everything in life but this is a really good tool.
I suggest this to everyone in my life really because nothing matters if you're not healthy
and I know that for sure. So before talking any financial stuff and stuff that I usually talk
in this channel, this is my real goal to be healthy and to ensure that everyone around me
has the best health and to make sure that I do my best for everyone else around me. Okay so the
second point is no stress. This is kind of personal because I tend to be a very anxious person but I
wrote this, I wrote everything down because it is useful to have a visual representation of what my
goals are. So I tend to be a very controlling person, I want to control things that are not
in my control and so I stress over things that are not useful. So I just want to lower my stress level.
Third point is sport, always in this branch of health. Of course I don't need to explain this
but this year I'm focusing not only on my health but also on something that I want to do.
For me, in my case, the gym has never been a fun thing. I know you put the music on, you make
it a little bit funnier but it's not for me and we need to compromise on this. I am going to
gym at least once a week but then I want to swim. I want to get back to swimming, it has always been
a passion for me. So I'm varying stuff based on what I actually like, not what is best for me,
just things that I like. Number four, this is totally unuseful. Of course when you make your
map it's going to be totally different priorities and stuff but I put spas and this is something
that I really like and I really enjoy. The reason I wrote all of these things is because when you,
especially when you're thinking about your finances, you need to understand where your
money is going and if the things that you are spending on are things that you actually enjoy.
If I have some money, I'm gonna waste them on spas because I really
enjoy the stress relief. Number five is nutrition. Actually I put it in number five because
I actually do it really well but I want to try new stuff. I want to be more curious
even though my stomach usually doesn't allow me to try all the spicy things etc but especially when
I travel I don't want to play it safe. I want to try new things. The whole purpose of traveling is
getting to know other things outside our country, outside the things that we already know.
And the last point, this is again very specific, I have a weird relationship with social media.
As you know I detox myself because I went one year off of social media but now things are
starting to look differently because since I am posting more and more on TikTok, on Instagram and
stuff, I want to know the feedbacks, I want to know what is trending and so I really got back
my bad habit and I do not want that. I already installed again in my phone that blocking app that
doesn't allow me to go more than three hours a day so yeah. Then let's move on to the second
branch, in this case it's work and finances. The first thing that I did is analyze the status quo,
where I'm at with my finances, my net worth, my investments, my savings, where I'm at now.
Then I asked myself a very important question for me, what job would I do if money wasn't a thing?
If money was not a problem, what would be my dream job? And so I wrote everything, how I imagine my
day, how my job would look like, how my day would look like, how others would perceive me doing this
job, everything. It's like a little bit of manifesting but not really because when I will
be looking for jobs, if there is a huge mismatch, I know it, I know it before starting the job,
so I think this is going to be useful. Then I wrote down an important thing, my future expenses,
my realistic future expenses. For example, I know for sure that I'll be needing a car,
I want to get married and I want to buy a house with my partner. This is financial stuff,
even the wedding, do you know how expensive it is a wedding? In Italy right now for a simple wedding
it's at least 30k and so this is not only like life goals, this is financial goals.
And then I'm gonna be explaining that after this map for every financial goal, for everything
money related, we have an Excel for that and so yeah, this is just the overall idea but we need
it, we need to watch the big picture, we need to know everything. Then I moved on the unrealistic
expenses, the things that I would do if at some point in my life I started making more money than
I expected. For example, I want to buy a house in 10 years, I know I'll be asking for a loan etc but
I always imagined a small house but if I started making more money than I expected then I would
love to have a small pool in my house and so this is like, you know, not really realistic expenses
but they're there, they're there. Now for the most important part of this branch, it's the
fire movement. I want to retire early, I want to retire at 45, I want to go barista fire by
that age and that takes a lot of effort not only for the calculus but also for saving the amount
that I need to save etc. So here we have of course an Excel related to this little branch but yeah,
this is my personal goal, I want to retire early, I want to retire when I will still be able to
enjoy life to the fullest, I do not want to walk anymore when I'm really old and I cannot travel
anymore, I cannot enjoy my life or be in the life of my kids if I have one or two one day so
this is what I want to do in life. Then there's another branch, I've been having this idea for
startup for a lot now and so I thought, okay, let's start talking about this idea, talking about
a business plan, talking about a SWOT analysis and so that is what I did. Of course, when I published
the TikTok, a lot of people said, oh you did this SWOT on that piece of paper? No, of course not,
it's just a big picture, okay? And so yeah, I'm not telling you more because it's just an idea
but if I do happen to have enough capital at some point in my life, you'll know. Then my other
branch is relationship and friendships, of course this is really personal but I do believe that
it's not like manifesting, it's actively saying what I want from my relationship, what kind of
partner I want by my side and all of this kind of stuff. I must say I'm starting from a very lucky
position because I really enjoy the people that are around me and they are kind and gentle with
me and so I'm really happy but I want to be better, I want to be a better daughter, I want to
be a better girlfriend, I want to be a better friend and so we can always be a better version
of us and so I brought all of these things down and especially regarding my relationship,
previously I talked about marriage and buying a house, buying a shared house and so I of course
talked with my partner and I highly suggest doing this because money and money related stuff
are things that if couple do not talk about it, it leads to divorce sometimes. So I know I'm really
young but for me keeping things clear helps me being stress-free and you know having everything
clear even if the other person doesn't have my kind of idea, if we have different path in mind
it's fine but I need to know, I need to know beforehand. Of course for this we have our excel
and stuff and then there are friendship and I have a lot of close friends from my hometown but
now I'm living in another city so how am I starting to know more people? So I needed to
find my third place and this is not just social things, it's also things related to getting to
know for example you know different surroundings and networking with different people and so I'm
starting thinking about like working for a non-profit or associating myself with this kind
of association and yeah it's useful and if you find someone that you like you'll be having
more friends and so yeah I also wrote this and then I wrote traveling and experiences, this is a
final branch, to be honest it's not one of my biggest priority, I've traveled a lot, I've been
I visited like 20 countries, this is a priority of my girlfriend but I'm perfectly happy with like
one trip a year, she's not but I put it in here because of course this is also a financial choice
if you want to spend 3k a year, 4k a year for a trip I need to save for that trip and so if I want
to be by her side when she reaches her personal goal I need to save and so yeah this is a
compromise really because for me I'll be happy working on my things and saving for the things
that I want to do and sacrificing like one year, two years without you know going outside my country
but you know you only live once so I think I can compromise and spending more money on this
and in the branch of relationship and friendship I did a SWOT of my life, a SWOT of myself
and that was really fun to do so I just I just highly suggest it, yeah so this was everything
for the map, now this is really useful to have the big picture but I highly suggest that you
have also something to implement your goals and implement it daily, I do have my personal
agenda I'm going to show you in a moment, here we have January, it's just a simple calendar, here we
have like my sleep schedule that I wanted to track, my sleep tracker and here we have my habit tracker
here with the X's, I highly suggest if you do have a goal you need to be concrete and just
like for example if you want to lose three kilograms in like three months you need to
have a daily habit to go take a walk, go take a run, whatever and it's highly satisfying to put
the cross on the to-do list so I highly suggest having a habit tracker for everything really, for
your financial goals, for your health goals etc and so yeah I will not be able to talk about it
in this video because it's already like 20 minutes long but yes this was my my map I hope
you liked it and let me know if you do something like this, if you like this video please follow me
and leave a like and comment if you did the map and I hope to see you next Sunday in the next video
