Things are reaching a frustrating point for the Los Angeles Dodgers as Dave Roberts and multiple stars of this team has spoken out
surrounding the latest play from this team, where things are going, and why things need to change as soon as possible.
We're gonna be breaking down a few of these players who have not been performing well, mainly Dave Roberts' comments,
and how this is going to have a very interesting impact on the lineup heading into the remainder of the regular season.
But we have a lot to break down here in today's video, folks, and if you haven't already, be sure to drop a sub on the channel.
We have a lot of stuff coming up every single day, and mainly, a lot of big changes are coming.
You will not want to miss it. We're gonna have it all right here.
But I want to get straight into this, because Dave Roberts really did not hide his frustration,
and it's really hard to kind of imagine that he would, because when we look at this team over the past couple of weeks at this point,
it has just been frustrating from a fan standpoint, from a viewer standpoint, but the big thing is, this team has to change something.
You see this here from Fabian Ardaya. He tweeted out what Dave Roberts said, and a very frustrated Dave Roberts, I should say.
This has been four, five, six weeks of below-average production from our offense. It's the truth.
The Dodgers entering today, since July 1st, 91 WRC plus, tied for the Seattle Mariners for 21st in baseball.
And, you know, it certainly could be worse, but for the Dodgers, this is bad. You know, this is bad, bad.
And I think that's something that everybody recognizes, everybody knows, and is really catching a lot of wind in the MLB,
because you're starting to see non-Dodgers reports, non-Dodgers people discuss, you know, where the Dodgers are going from here.
And although a lot of them may be wrong, some are certainly going to be right, because there's just about every possibility,
but it would be a different case, it would be a different scenario, depending on the players.
The fact that it's been some of the Dodgers' biggest stars is the point that really kind of just makes it concerning for me,
and I mean, when we go ahead and look at, I feel like, the first, Justin Robleski, went on the I-L a couple of days ago.
I think this was simply due to fatigue more so than the actual injury itself.
He has not written great after the All-Star break, and once again, I do think it's just because of the sheer amount he has been playing.
So, I'm not too worried about that. Hopefully he comes back from the I-L, you know, ready to go, refreshed.
I think that's the biggest hope we can have for someone like Justin Robleski.
But for someone else, like Kyle Tuck, who has been one of the most disappointing players all season long,
especially as of late. You see this here from Sleeper Dodgers.
Obviously, Joe went on a tear through the Dodgers' home stand 0-19, two walks, a dropped fly ball, a 5-66 season home OBS.
After sitting one game, Dave Roberts explaining it was due to just getting a fresh reset, a fresh mind in.
This is something that, come post-season time, the Dodgers cannot afford to have.
You've got a guy like Kyle Tucker for what he's known for. He's known for his great bat, his great shooting.
Someone who, with so much experience, has been able to, year after year after year, be a star and guide a team to the post-season.
But when you're looking at this year, his Devont, I think, really shows what we've seen from him so far this season.
And there's still lots of time to turn things around, especially for a Dodgers team which, you know, is certainly going to make the playoffs,
but it depends on whether they win the wildcard or not and how things, you know, really progress over the next couple of weeks.
The average, not great. Everything else, really not great, especially on the plate.
He's not chasing, which is fine. He's not playing well in the field. I mean, he's not a fast runner.
He's really providing, right now, nothing for this Dodgers team in a time when they certainly need to see the best of the best from everybody
to make sure that they want to stay out of the wildcard picture and stay above that.
But, you know, we can only say so much about Kyle Tucker because it's been all season long,
but even the guys that started out off have not been performing as of late, a lot of which has been due to injuries as well,
which is not something I think we can forget about, especially on the side of pitching.
That kind of all relates to how long Wroblewski's been playing or how much with Ohtani injuries that have been plaguing him this season.
There's been so much that all plays into hand, but when it comes down to the simple things, the structure of the game,
the fielding for the Dodgers this season has also not been bad, but as of the last 33 games,
which, once again, goes back to Dave Roberts saying over the last 5, 6, 7, 8 weeks, it really hasn't been great.
The first 92 games of the season, they had 26 errors, the best in the MLB, but over the last 33 games,
they've had 25, which is a third worse in the MLB.
This team is filled with phenomenal fielders, and this is kind of all playing off and playing into the fact that this Dodgers team
has not been able to contain anything. They've not been able to get anything going.
They have not been able to stay structured.
And it all kind of comes in together with what Dave Roberts has been saying.
This is completely unacceptable, and things are going to have to change if they really want to find their way around it.
But with all of that, a newly-acquired Terrence Ruble, a lot of people thought that may have fixed all of their issues.
It certainly will fix a few on the pitching side of things.
But Terrence Ruble himself has not been happy with where his Dodgers debuts have gone.
He said it's not acceptable. It's not the standard of what I think I'm capable of in this league.
And keep in mind, Terrence Ruble's debuts have not been bad whatsoever, but it's really been, once again,
a lot of fielding surrounding him not being great.
Just not having the offensive support that any pitcher would love to have, especially a pitcher on the Dodgers.
He has been elite all season.
That's not going to be an issue for this Dodgers team.
The pitching staff has been very good for this team for most of the season.
Of course, you have a few players that are going to take a bit of a bigger hit than others,
but we know how good the pitching staff on this team is on paper and how they can play.
And I think Terrence Ruble is not going to be a victim of this, but he's going to benefit highly
from a lot of pitchers surrounding him, and he's also going to help out this Dodgers team.
He is one of the best pitchers, if not the best pitcher, in the MLB.
And when you go ahead and look at his last five games, mainly his three debut runs for the Dodgers,
two losses, one win, but has not been getting the run support.
Has really been giving up a few runs, but once again, it's not on him.
Three earned runs, two earned runs, one earned run, you know.
You want to make sure you have your offense helping you, and that has just not been the case.
Kind of the big set of dominoes that have been falling for this Dodgers team.
They really have not been able to get what they want out of their best players,
out of their top players, over the past couple of weeks, or in some cases, let alone all season.
So folks, let me know what you thought here about Dave Roberts' frustration,
comments, how you think this is going to play into the Dodgers' decisions over these next couple of games,
because these are ones that the Dodgers should get back into the win column with.
And if we go ahead and look at the projected starters for this upcoming series,
Blake Snell, Eric Lauer, Roki Sasaki, this may be the last start for Eric Lauer,
with Tyler Glasner nearing a return.
Roki Sasaki, see how he can get back into it and see if he can continue.
Some of the good starts he's had this season, but this is going to be two very big series,
two series that they should really take advantage of.
And I want to know what you guys think about this, what your projections are,
and if this should be a turning point for the Dodgers.
When we look at the standings, obviously, it's getting tight.
The Cubs surrounding their Phillies, Padres, it's getting a bit dangerous.
Even though you're looking at the last 10 for a lot of teams, 6-4, 8-2, 5-5, it don't matter.
The Dodgers need to win. That is the bottom line.
So give me your thoughts on all this down below, folks.
But that is all I have at this point.
If you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well.
I am signing out. Thank you for watching.
Hope you have a great day.
