Hey everybody, it's Mama OG. I am back with another reaction. Today, I have another donation
request from my friend Dave. Dave, as always, thank you so much. He has asked me to listen
to Aurora. The song is called Animal Soul. This is a live version from VRFTET Online Music Festival
2020. Now, I understand from what he told me that it's just her and the piano. This was during
COVID, so there was no audience. She's done a few like this. I have no doubt this is going to be
just as fabulous as all the rest. Before we get started, if you would like to request a specific
reaction, you can do so by clicking a donation link down in the description of this video.
Send along the information of the song you would like me to hear, and I will get it recorded right
away. I also take notes while I'm reacting, so if you see me looking down, I'm just writing down a
list of things to help me remember what I want to talk about. I'm excited for this. This is the first
one of my recording session today. I thought I'd start with some Aurora because it can't really go
wrong starting the day out with some Aurora. I've got my earbuds in. Let's go ahead and take a listen.
I have never heard this song.
I can remember times when it used to be warmer. Lying inside the body so far.
I can remember light coming through her skin. And the first time I saw her eyes as she wrapped me.
Damn it. Of course this is making me think of my mother. Something I haven't talked a lot about
on the channel. My mom will be 80 in September. I'm having some health issues and such, and you
know, having lost my dad a couple years ago, I probably don't even need to say my worst fear
that's absolutely inevitable. So I don't know. I just want to say I love my mom very much.
And God, just the lyrics of this first part have gotten me already. I'm gonna start it all over.
I can remember times when it used to be warmer. Lying inside the body so far.
I can remember light coming through her. And the first time I saw her eyes as she wrapped me.
I am a child with an animal soul. I don't belong here. I don't belong anywhere.
I'm a child with an animal soul. I don't belong here. I don't belong here.
As I am running around looking for every answer. Moving across my mind like a beautiful dancer.
I'm here to tear what made me whole. In the world we are forced to swallow. I'm a child soul.
I don't belong here. I don't belong anywhere.
I'm a child. I don't belong here. To walk or run. Still our feet are forced to walk the ground.
Even when we're deeper down.
I don't, I don't, I don't belong anywhere.
Hey, just watch. She does that signature snapping out of it again at the end of that.
I'm seriously trying to hold back my tears. It was really the, the talk about being in the
mother's womb and at the beginning. But then when she said, I am a child with an animal soul,
like I, I can relate to that as well. Let's watch the signature
head shake she does when she's at the end of a song and kind of comes back to reality.
Yep. Oh man. Just something related to her physical movements, as I always talk about.
I was noticing when they were showing a closeup of her playing the piano,
even the way her fingers kind of just caress some of the notes on the piano is different.
I've noticed it before. Just had never said anything until today. It's just so uniquely
her. It's just, I don't know how to explain it. It's just how she touches the keys.
I thought the piano opener of that, I could tell it was going to be a deeply emotional song.
The piano at the beginning, before she even opened her mouth,
instantly made me feel that. And then of course, her opening verse is talking about,
you know, something about it feels warm in here when I'm in, when we're inside our mother's bodies
and something about, and the first time I saw her eyes or something and she wrapped them around me
or something like that. I would have to say the lyrics that I definitely relate to
I am a child with an animal soul. I don't belong here. I don't belong anywhere.
I started to touch on this in the last reaction that I just uploaded today,
Ren and Chris Webby's End of the World. I am somebody who thinks about things on such a
level to a fault that it can be off-putting for some people. Obviously, you guys have seen it,
if you've watched all of my other Aurora reactions, and that in and of itself is one
reason why I feel like I don't belong. I have to be mindful of how deep I verbalize my thoughts
in certain situations to certain people. Fortunately, I have found that doing these
reactions is the one place that I can completely be myself and express these deep thoughts that I
have day in and day out, which is an amazing thing that I don't, I don't get a whole lot of that in
my real life. I just have always operated that way for as long as I can remember.
It might have been trauma that did that to me, you know, and that was 30 years ago. So like,
I can't really remember a time where I didn't go off on my own little tangents inside my brain, but
it can be a lonely place sometimes because I've come to learn that not everybody can handle that,
not everybody thinks that way, not everybody wants to think that deeply, and that's fine too.
I just have to kind of feel my way around when it comes to who I can and who I can't
express myself in that way. And that relates to the animal thing because I have always
had a deep connection with animals, like a drawing to animals. I can't relate with them directly
because I don't live, we humans don't live our lives the way animals do, but I do envy that
way of life. It's simple, and it's about just under a handful of things. Our lives as humans
are just so complicated because we make them so complicated. Others around us make them so
complicated. I connect with animals deeply. They seem to connect with me back, hence the reason
I've had 11 parrots in my life in the last 22 years. I currently have six. I've lost a few
along the way. And I don't think that you could spend that much time with such intelligent beings
and gain their trust and keep it for that long of a period of time if you don't have some kind of
unspoken connection. They're extremely intelligent. They cannot verbalize,
so that was another thing that I had to learn was how to read their every move,
what their feathers positions mean, what their tail feather positions mean, what the eye pinning
means, and then couple all those together, they can mean different things. So I kind of became
an expert on parrot body language once upon a time and started helping other people with
their problem parrots, when in reality, it was more the human that was misreading the situation.
Anyway, I'm rambling about birds, but also with my dogs and every dog and cat I've ever had,
I've just felt, I don't know, a responsibility for their life and their well-being. I know a
lot of pet owners love their animals, take care of them. I know a lot don't. This goes
beyond what most people do for their pets or feel for their pet. I take care of my dogs like I take
care of Mike and myself and my birds. I don't know. I'm kind of rambling here on the animal
thing. So yeah, that song brought all of that out of me. It was absolutely beautiful. I definitely
am going to have to check out the regular version of this song. I imagine it's probably a little bit
different. Dave, thank you so much for putting this in front of me. Thank you all so much for
being here to share it with me. I will see you on the next one.
