Before the video starts, I have a small request. I've launched a second channel called
Tour Encyclopedia, where we explore the most fascinating and beautiful places around the world.

The link is in the description below this video. And now, let's dive into the main episode.
Karar. Iran.
This is a fully Iranian development that has become a symbol of the country's military
independence. The Karar is a new-generation tank that combines Soviet-era technology with modern
Iranian innovations. The tank was unveiled in 2016 as a response to international sanctions,
which limited Iran's access to foreign military hardware. The Karar is based on the Soviet T-72
platform, but it has undergone significant upgrades. Iranian engineers have improved
its protection, firepower, and fire control systems. The Karar is equipped with a 125mm
smoothbore gun capable of firing guided missiles. It also features a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun and
a 12.7mm remote-controlled anti-aircraft machine gun. One of the major improvements is in its armor
protection. The tank features modern explosive reactive armor, visually similar to Russia's
Kontakt 5. The front of the hull and turret are reinforced with modular composite armor.
The Karar also boasts modern electronics, including a digital fire control system,
thermal imaging, a laser rangefinder, and a panoramic sight. These systems allow the
crew to operate effectively in both day and night conditions, in all types of weather.
The tank's engine produces around 1,000 horsepower, allowing it to reach a top speed of about 70
kilometers per hour on roads and around 50 kilometers per hour off-road. It has an
operational range of up to 500 kilometers on a full tank. Thanks to an automatic loading system,
the Karar is operated by a three-man crew, which helps reduce its size and weight.
Iran is actively producing the Karar and plans to use it to re-equip a large portion
of its armored forces. This tank represents a major step in Iran's effort to replace imported
systems with domestic solutions. It is designed entirely without foreign involvement and tailored
to the country's specific needs. Although the Karar is often showcased in parades and exercises
as a high-tech and powerful weapon, its real combat performance remains unproven, as it has
yet to be tested in major conflicts. Nevertheless, the Karar is a striking example of how a nation
under heavy sanctions can develop its own defense industry. It is more than just a copy of the T-72,
it is the result of deep modernization and technical progress.
