Hi, this is Laurel. Welcome back to asklaurel.com. If you want your question answered, go over there
and ask a question, make a request, and we'll get right back to you. So someone had asked on our
Ask Laurel, how do I create wealth if I have no startup funding? So you don't need startup funding.
That is the biggest myth in the world, and I have like dispelled that myth for now almost two
decades. So number one, just go make some money. There's something you know how to do. You know
how to do photography. You know how to write. You know how to use your skills, use your super
easy skills to just go make some money. Many of you, you're doing what you're doing, but you're
not in a frame of a business. You don't have a price. You don't have an offer. So what is the
offer that you're going to give given what you do? And if you're a good cook and be a caterer,
cook for other people. In-home prep for like chefs is an extraordinary way to make money.
Go into someone else's home, get paid $150, $200 to make their meal. There are so many ways you
can make money. So in the beginning, you got to generate it or you're going to get a job and save
it. You can borrow it, right? That's an easy way to do it. And then my favorite is partner to it.
A lot of you, you're not really good entrepreneurs. We're trained to be employees, not entrepreneurs.
So the skill set of an entrepreneur is much, much different. You know, it's funny when people come
to work with me and they say, oh my gosh, I can't work on commission. Have you ever worked on
commission? Have you ever been an entrepreneur? We work on commission, which means we, you know,
our kind of funny saying is we eat what we kill, which means you better, you better kill something,
which means you got to sell something. Partnering is your safer way because you're going to partner
with somebody else's experience and success. Going out all by yourself and thinking you're
going to be an entrepreneur by yourself without any entrepreneurial skills or being trained to
be an entrepreneur, which is what I love to train you to be. It's tough. So you don't need any
startup funding. So then how do you do wealth? Wealth is usually about you putting money away.
It's about you investing it. So there's a making money part of your life and there's an investing
part of your life. The fastest way to be a millionaire is as you make it, put it away.
Even if it's in a money market account for a while, at least you're in the pattern of putting money away.
