AI GeneratedThis video provides a step-by-step tutorial on creating a healthy, portable, and flavorful grilled salmon and avocado salad. The dish combines smoky, spiced grilled salmon with a fresh arugula-based salad, all served inside a hollowed-out avocado for a visually appealing and portion-controlled meal.
Hey, what's going on, everybody?
Today, I'm gonna show you how to make
a simple grilled salmon and avocado salad
that's just bursting with flavor.
So let's get started.
First up, you're gonna drizzle just a little bit
of olive oil straight over the top of a salmon filet.
You're gonna season it with some kosher salt,
fresh cracked black pepper, a little bit of lemon zest
for that beautiful citrus flavor,
and then you're gonna cover it with some spices.
Here, I'm gonna use some cumin, some smoked paprika,
and a little bit of cayenne pepper.
It's almost like a blackening spice.
And then you're gonna grill this lovely piece of salmon
on a very hot grill for about four to five minutes
on each side.
Once the salmon is thoroughly cooked,
you're gonna remove it from the grill
and allow it to rest while you prepare the rest of the salad.
All right, so while the salmon is cooling down,
you're gonna grab some rocket arugula,
some sliced red onion and celery, and some sour cream,
and then you're just gonna begin adding
all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl,
starting with the red onion and the celery,
followed by a dollop of sour cream,
a little bit of Dijon mustard,
some fresh chopped tarragon, arugula,
and finally, you can shred and add the salmon
to the mixing bowl as well.
Once everything is in the bowl,
you're gonna add a little bit of lemon zest and juice
to the mix along with a pinch of salt,
and then give this a gentle but thorough mix.
Really, just the idea is to keep the salmon
in these large, flaky chunks so it just looks really fresh.
And after that, slice open a large avocado
and take the seed out,
and then all you really have to do is stuff the salad
into the hole where the pit used to live in the avocado,
and voila, you have the perfect portion-controlled dish
that's just packed full of flavor,
and honestly, is a really fancy dish on the go.
Hopefully you guys enjoyed this tutorial,
and you guys should definitely share this
with your friends and family.
What's going on, everybody?
This looks amazing.
As of lately, these are definitely a trending
sort of food item, one of those healthy,
on-the-go food items, which I really like.
It's a stuffed avocado, I love avocados.
I'm a big fan of grilled fish and shredded fish salads,
like tuna fish salad, salmon salad, chicken salad,
things like that, I really enjoy,
so you put the two together,
and you have this amazing little combo,
and I really like it,
because you can kind of take it on the go,
it's really easy, I feel like it's really portable,
and honestly, you can make this the night before
and save it for the next day.
Go to work, go to school, get your things done,
and you have a nice little snack
that's super healthy, packed full of flavor,
and it's just really delicious,
and it's really beautiful as well.
It's so funny, whenever I see someone
eating a stuffed avocado,
or I'm eating a stuffed avocado at a restaurant
or a place that serves them,
everyone stares at you,
or I'm always staring at the person who has it,
because it's always, it's just a fun little snack,
it's a cool way to prepare a meal,
and yeah, it's good.
So let me try this out, run through the flavors,
and see how I did.
So I think the official way to eat this
is you have to pick it up,
or at least that's how I,
oop, at least that's how I like to eat it,
so just kind of dig in.
Actually, you know what,
I'm just gonna have a taste of the salad first,
and then some avocado.
Mm, so good.
Yes, lemon pepper's so good, too.
Mm, like, I love this, it's a little messy,
I mean, it is what it is,
but like I said, it's really beautiful,
and the flavor's amazing.
Whenever I have these at restaurants,
or whenever my wife Rachel has them at restaurants,
which she usually orders them a bit more than I do,
they come in so many different varieties
with different fish, different salads,
different like preparations and seasonings,
and I really like this,
because it's kind of like a cold slash warm salad,
but it's grilled,
so there's that nice little hearty
sort of smoky grill flavor to it
when you're eating the salad,
so it's really nice.
It just blends well with a lot of the bold flavors,
like the onion, the spicy arugula,
and some of the spices that I put on the salmon itself.
Oh, wow, this is so good, okay.
I'm gonna spill this all over myself, I gotta focus.
As you can see, you're eating the avocado
as you eat the salad,
so it's kind of a fun little snack,
and I love avocados,
so this is definitely my kind of meal.
Look at that, chunk of avocado,
salmon, arugula, little bit of celery, onion.
So good.
I'm gonna eat this whole thing.
I definitely recommend you guys trying it out.
It's a great recipe.
