Spivak and Petrino's the next fight up after the main event that we just broke down. This is one of
those sort of new school versus you know gatekeeper old guard type of fight here with the Moldovian
polar bear who's been around forever taking on a Dana White Contender Series fighter but
albeit you know Petrino did come out of the 2022 class of the Dana White Contender Series which
I got to be honest with you guys I've never fully embraced and bet on right I really haven't you
know I mean there's so much stuff going on and I should more I mean it's not going anywhere and
every sports book has it right so but I don't I don't watch the Dana White Contender Series very
often I have but it's not like one of my regular viewing habits so I do admit that um what do you
he was a light heavyweight before right so this is a heavyweight fight right now
and he's gone three and oh since moving to uh heavyweight what do you make of this fight uh Tom
yeah this is this is a a really tough fight um you know Petrino has has gone three and oh since
moving up I mean the guy looks like an absolute monster at heavyweight he looks totally different
than he did at 205 he he knew he didn't have to cut weight anymore and you can see it away
he's he's a monster he's a big big guy obviously you know he's got the frame for heavyweight um
you know in this match up here like I'm not overly sold on Petrino I think he's you know he's still
got the big power I still don't trust his cardio and you know overall I mean he's got some grappling
he does have some submissions in his back pocket but I don't know I kind of want to I want to see
what he looks like as he moves up the ranks a little bit because I don't think it's going to
go too well for him here yeah Spivak's a guy that's kind of been you know he's been around a
long time he's on a bit of a decline but he kind of does have the game to to win this match up here
he can mix in the grappling he can make it an ugly dirty fight wear on the cardio of Petrino
so I kind of think Spivak I'm leaning Spivak here but this is one of those fights that
I'm just not comfortable with I just think both guys do have a path and I I just expect it to be
an ugly sloppy you know I don't want to say low level heavyweight fight because it's not necessarily
low level but it's one of those mid-tier middling yeah one of those middling UFC heavyweight fights
where you can see both guys leaning on each other over the court you know in the second and
third round and it just kind of looks ugly so I don't know I'm I'm going to roll Spivak here
just as a pick but yeah not not a fight that I'm I'm running to the window to bet by any stretch.
I lean Spivak as well the total is two and a half in this fight I lean Spivak as well just because
you know the value at plus 125 I don't really trust Petrino at minus 150 here and Spivak's
been around he's seen a lot and the fact is Tom he's really not that old he's only 31 years old
like if you know you would have asked me like if you asked somebody how old is their guy uh
Spivak you'd probably say I don't mid 30s 34 or whatever you know what I mean but uh he's 31
he started fighting when he was 20 21 he's 31 so he's not like he's not over the hill or anything
like that at least you know yeah yeah I mean absolutely I mean in terms of fight years kind of
but yeah I mean he's been around a long time you you know you would expect him to be a little older
um but he has been through some wars he's been in that the heavyweight division for
quite some time now so that will take its toll on you but yeah like I said I mean overall I feel
like he's got the game to kind of you know mix in some some judo throws and mix in some sweeps
and takedowns and do what he does and just make it an ugly fight so yeah I mean like I said I'm
not really sold on Petrino I think he's got the big power I think he's dangerous early
but after the first you know five to seven minutes I just don't think he really has that much in the
tank and I think Spivak I've seen him go multiple three round fights where he was pretty strong
late in the fight so yeah I just like Spivak here.
