The Grizzlies are sleeping on this now
He's nowhere near the most popular name of the team
But the Grizzlies should absolutely consider giving this youngster more playing time though
He has a history of producing a triple-double and playing in all 48 minutes of the game
And he is ready to accept the next challenge. What's going on everybody? Thanks you
Thank you so much for joining us for another episode of Grizzlies Dad
Just bringing you all the latest news and updates on everything Grizzlies related. Hey, we all know it's a dead period but hey look
Things look on the bright side here college football in a week from now. It's gonna be week zero
So they're not gonna be many games, but at least there's gonna be something to look forward to but I mean
We're still here giving you guys the news. I just appreciate you tuning in and a lot of good
engagement in the last video talking about
Ty Jerome and Jake Moravia and Jordan Hawkins
So appreciate that and of course if you want to like comment and subscribe to the channel
We're gonna be so appreciate that but
talking about
One of our guys to my
Yeah, to my Misha
Youngster from Tennessee. So why this player is the best two-way prospect of the Grizzlies?
Sam Drake of Grizzlies on SI says he's made the most of his opportunity last season
Wasn't expected to get so much playing time, but you never know with this team
Just like that
So, let's take a look at one of the
Trick about
How we can fill a spot for Misha and he says the Grizzlies third two-way spot is open after
Michigan's Carson Cooper
I'm signed on June 25th that we're going undrafted in 2026
Participated in the summer league is no longer on the roster many project 2026 number 32 pick Richard Saunders at BYU to fill it
Though he's yeah, he has yet to sign
course Richie
the tater tot guy
as we know grandfather
mentor of the
beautiful wonderful amazing tater tots
Has yet to sign so leave some room for to my Misha now
Why are we expecting to my Misha?
Soldiers now, of course, he's coming off an injury and we don't know how he's gonna play after that. He's in his mid-20s
But his last two years of basketball were the best basketball of his career
You know, we're talking all big 12 player
And even though we got injured, I mean he's
Still showed he can be an all-big 12 player
even before that
but why
Is Sam Drake so high on Misha?
Well, it's a Grizzlies dealt with a wave of injuries last season on route to a 25 and 55 finish
Especially the front court with Zack Edie losing
Himself to a season-ending ankle injury during Jackson jr
And jock Landale both traded before the deadline may Shaq stepped up in a way
nobody expected
Now why are we mentioning Zack Edie and you're in Jackson jr. And jock Landale?
There's three big guys
But may Shaq stepping up in a way in place of them
That couldn't be what he's talking about
You don't think so but
at 6 foot 3
He played minutes a guard
Forward and even center for the Memphis Grizzlies
He is a type of player who does whatever is asked to help the team win
Even if that means guarding someone a foot taller and 50 pounds heavier
Yeah, I think it was a game
You can't remember exactly the game or what the lineup was. I
Remember it was something like Walter Clayton
It might have been
Rupert might have been in that lineup. He might have been playing before even though he really should have been playing five
And then Jemima Shaq was actually playing at center
And that means yeah guarding the team's tallest player
But at least on the court to start with and 50 pounds heavier. So I mean, yeah this guy
He's about as tough as it gets
You may think he's six three and can only play guard, but he has a history of
Playing something that he's not
Playing it center. He didn't even do that at Tennessee. I don't think Kate Phillips and Estrella
He didn't have to
But now he's doing it in the NBA
now he was forced to
But even when he was on the court, you still had guys taller than him
But he he just plays
Good enough defense good enough hustle to make you think hey, you can play it by I remember back in 2020
And this is not about the Grizzlies per se, but I remember when the Rockets were going through a little something
In early 2020 and I think they had a lineup
With PJ Tucker playing center. He's six five
So you got PJ Tucker who's six five?
But you my Mayshack who's six three
Point seven and starting it
He's not just coming in. He's coming. He's starting at center. He is doing the jump ball. He's doing the opening
That's what you got
It's pretty hard for Grizzlies fans to say. Well, we should just shut this guy out
Here's another quote from Sam
Mayshack showed exactly what that potential ceiling looked like in April 10th matchup against Utah with Memphis
available
147 101 lost jazz
As we said in the intro video, hey played all 48 minutes
finished with this first career triple-double with 13 points 15 rebounds and 14 assists
Wow, what a game
Now, of course, it came at a pretty bad loss at a 40
But what can you do when you've got eight guys playing on the roster now, I'm not saying that he's only gonna produce
Moments like this and there are eight guys on the roster
But showed you what he can do whenever you put him out there
And hopefully we don't have to be putting them out there center actually just six
But I don't know but anyway
You talked about Mayshack and he's not the first guy you think about he's not even really maybe the
But he shows heart he shows hustle
He's still a young guy I
Think has enough to make you believe
That he can take that next step the next one
He's already in the end. So isn't he already at that? Well, I mean, there's more than just to just be in the NBA
but
He's shown what he can do
Whenever he's been
playing off 48
course he had to
But this is what he can do and maybe in
Maybe in a team not against the jazz which are they're gonna be a better team mix
But either way
Give this guy credit
And give him credit where it's new. I
Don't see him being really any more than
Like the third string option, especially what you got right now
You've got Ty Jerome. You've got Scottie Pippen
He's still there I'm a Shaq
switch
from the one to two, but
Yeah, I think that there's still something here with you my nation and I think there's still to be something with Ritchie Saunders, too
But you can't just throw Mayshack to the curb after
performance like that
because
That triple-double is hard to come by
Like yeah, I don't think anybody
Averaging 20 points is a pretty tough thing to do in it. If you're doing it in a season
Double in the right now Russell Westbrook easy, but you might be Shaq isn't
So I think the Grizzlies should
Leave their options open
He comes to do my Mayshaq. I think he's showing what he can do on the stage once he's ready
That's gonna do it for this video, thank you so much for watching like it comment subscribe to it
Comment down below your thoughts on to my Mayshaq itself or even Ritchie Saunders. I mean who should get that spot
Gonna be tough. That's gonna do it for us. Appreciate you watching
