Exploring Northern France on a Budget: Day 2 Adventures । Boat Car Adventures

Previously on Boat Car Adventures On a ferry, going to France Columbus broke down again and we managed to find a replacement vehicle to start the road trip The first place that we'll be stopping is Plage de Mar Plage de Mar? Pond Ok Something like that I hope I'm pronouncing it right, I don't have a clue But it's Belle Dune, they've apparently got an amazing beach there, it's got loads of dunes My nape is choking We've arrived Whilst Columbus was getting fixed we found somewhere to stay in North France Come and see what happened next We arrived at the property and saw that we had a dining room with a sofa bed for one of the kids to sleep in There was a door to the terrace that had a garden which allowed for the kids to play outside There was a downstairs toilet with a shower Upstairs there was two further bedrooms Room 1 had two single beds and the master room had a king size bed The main bedroom had a door that led to the balcony With views out to the garden If you do manage to stay in one of these houses the night sky on the balcony is beautiful The house was nicely decorated and came with a starter kit Bonjour So we're in a local convenience store We've just turned up, I've got a pumping headache Because we've not slept, not one wink, we've not slept So it is about, what time is it, about 5 o'clock? Something like that yeah We've been up all night, all yesterday, all day all night So literally we've been up 24 hours So we're just in a local convenience store in Fort Mahon And picking up something quick to eat It's our first stop of a European trip It is yeah, we looked at the beach as well Oh it's amazing It's amazing Only but the weather I know The weather's a little bit, it is a little bit blowy A little bit, you can see the trees blade over So we're going to get something to eat, feed the kids and then we'll see what happens in the morning Yep Alright Let's go Right, now we're going to see what he's cooking for breakfast What are you doing? Yes, I bought them from Ernebridge Yep, so they're small local family beekeepers as well Right Yeah, and I say beekeepers because I had to get a jar of honey as well from them as well Yeah so, this, I'm not going to taste this yet, it's still unopened But they showed me it's the best you're going to get in the UK So right, and these bees have grown by them But anyway, back to the eggs The eggs Right, let's do one Do one for the camera, let everyone see how good it is I didn't know you were smashing Free range Yeah, you do fine don't you, that proper eggs, free range eggs Right, look at that, oh look at that I'm not exaggerating, look how much yolk you get from that Compared to a standard egg you buy at the Supermarché Exactly You can't say Supermarché now, it's French Yeah, French French So I'm speaking French, French words No it's not But I was going to say that organic eggs, eggs that you buy from actual chicken keepers Are actually stronger, the shells are stronger than your normal eggs that you buy from a supermarket Yeah, I mean, I don't know why, is it because they're real free range eggs? But anyway, even now, I've cracked it, I'm squeezing it, look, solid I wonder how much stuff we can put on it before it cracks I don't know, we'll try something later So anyway, we did breakfast, I haven't got a clue what we've got planned today We bought some French olive oil, extra virgin by the way And yeah, so we'll add the onion later, or something, probably some bread And yeah, so I'm going to continue finding breakfast Yep And see what else I can find Cool, I'll leave you to it Any snails in the garden by the way? Snails, well that is something we're going to be trying actually So we're going to go to a restaurant at some point and try some snails I've forgotten what they call them over here I'm going to find out the proper name I think it's goss, goss something Yeah, it's a different sort of name, it's not snails Because otherwise, you know, us British would think, I'm not eating that So we're going to go out today and just go for a wander The weather is okay, it's a little bit breezy still But it's, yeah, it's cool, it's not raining Apparently Thursday is supposed to be raining So we're going to do as much as we can for the next couple of days And then Thursday is going to rain, so we're probably going to stay in And then obviously go out for the remainder of the week I must say, yesterday, the drive here Guys, guys, sh** I must say, the drive here yesterday was amazing Yeah, it was good And that always strikes me when I come to France Because just the minute you come, when you start leaving Calais You see hills and hills, well not many But it starts getting hilly as you get further down the country But you just see the farms and the smell of the soil Yeah It's amazing Yeah, yeah So, you know, it's just, the vibe here is amazing Is it still on? Looks gorgeous It's amazing Very It is windy today But it isn't cold at all It's warm, isn't it? Yeah And it's just so colourful There's colours everywhere It's amazing It's so peaceful here Yeah Yeah, so As a holiday treat During the summer time it isn't though You can imagine It probably isn't peaceful It's probably all diving in the lake And all sorts But It's got I don't know if it's man-made or natural It looks like a bit of both On one side It's natural But now it's pretty nice And we've got the buildings And the backdrop behind Which you can see I think they're all apartments Like Elaine said earlier Shops and restaurants We'll have a walk around them later on It looks like a man-made Maldives It is, isn't it? With not so much colour though In the water Yeah So, that's great So, so far We're probably going to have a look around Because we've been driving around Dodging the weather the last few days Yeah And then rain Wind You name it's been front And sandstorms and everything Literally Yeah And that's mainly at the coast But now we're going to have a look around here But anyway We need to make it to the bikes Yep But before we do Shall we go round there?
