AI GeneratedThe hosts of \"Talkin' Giants\" analyze the New York Giants' final 53-man roster predictions. They evaluate player health, specifically Malik Nabers' recovery, and debate the balance between positional depth and special teams utility across the offensive line, wide receivers, and defensive units to determine who will make the final cut.
Hello and welcome back to Talkin' Giants presented by the Fnatic Sportsbook.
Today is August 25th, 2026 and what Sean and I are doing is one more final time.
A final 53-man roster prediction show, especially at the back end of the roster.
Oh boy, is it fascinating this year to see how all of this is going to play out.
Do they carry six, seven wide receivers?
Do the thing with your hands.
Do they carry eight, nine, ten offensive linemen?
I had ten offensive linemen in the spring.
I think that's a little overkill now.
How is special teams going to play at impact?
All that kind of fun stuff.
So we're going to do it one more final time.
And I think a big thing is at the time that we're recording this,
I put out the Google sheet of all of you to fill out a 53-man roster with us.
We have a very large good data set of 443 responses
of what fans think and what all of you think the Giants are going to do.
Sean, how are you doing, my friend?
I'm doing great, Justin.
I love this 53-man exercise.
I got to look at exactly what I did the first time we did it, see what's changed.
And it also reminded me that there's another point I want to bring up later on in the show
that has not been discussed anywhere in this month of August about the Giants
that I think is important to note.
Okay.
Well, you better make sure you don't forget that.
No, I won't.
There's so many things that I like.
Oh, I want to talk about this.
I want to talk about that.
And then I seemingly always forget it.
Did you talk about it on the show today?
No, no, it is.
It is as niche a talking Giants point is there.
Great.
I did not bring it.
I love it.
So just some updates for today.
Malik Neighbors shedded the red non-contact jersey,
and he's out there running with everybody else, which is awesome.
Yeah.
And John Horbaugh essentially got one step closer to telling us Malik Neighbors
should be playing versus Dallas as well.
When he met the media after practice, he said it's fair to connect the dots
and assume he'll be ready for week one, which I think is a great sign.
And look, this is it, man.
We've been through two weeks of the preseason,
so I think any of us, if we wanted Malik Neighbors to play in week one,
you started circling either this week or next week is that week
to see that next jump of that much more.
So seeing it on a Monday going into week three of the preseason,
I mean, that is beyond a welcome sight, Justin.
Yep.
Even if it's a limited snap count basis against Dallas,
I think between what they did with AT last year,
which I know it's a different coaching staff,
but there's still some people there.
I do think in terms of how they've treated their franchise players
coming off of some major injuries,
I think it's been a best-case scenario as of right now,
knocking on wood still for Malik Neighbors.
And I also really do appreciate how they treated both of their ramp-ups
with being patient.
And even last year, we were like,
when is Andrew Thomas going to get back out there?
He's been practicing for weeks.
The ramp-up that both of these guys have had,
I think it's made them feel better about themselves and their rehab processes.
And I think it's hopefully going to be better for both of them in the long run.
It was good for Thomas in the long run last year.
Hopefully it's good for Malik Neighbors in the long run, too.
Absolutely.
Cannot argue.
Cannot disagree.
Yeah.
Theo Johnson goes down at the end of practice today,
kind of like the most significant injury that's coming from Monday,
but Harbaugh said what after practice, Sean?
Again, I believe this.
I just had this from Dan Duggan.
He had a collision.
Theo Johnson had a collision with Kayvon Thibodeau.
He obviously slammed his helmet in frustration.
He did walk off.
It didn't even look like gingerly, according to reports.
And John Harbaugh said after practice that he is not getting any indication
that it is serious at all, and he believes Theo Johnson will be okay.
So why Theo had that kind of reaction?
Maybe it was more frustration than it was injury.
Who knows?
Yeah.
Some other players that were not spotted at practice.
Hyatt continues to be out.
Tanner Conner, who's had a good summer.
Hold on.
Real quickly, Justin.
Do you find it interesting that the Giants waived Ryan Miller,
but are keeping Jalen Hyatt, who just is not practicing ever?
I have.
Maybe they hope that they get Hyatt on the practice squad.
I don't know.
How weird.
Okay, but carry on.
Yeah.
Tanner Conner's had a good summer.
Joshua Zutu.
Harbaugh confirmed that it's a day-to-day thing that maybe he's hoping that he does play
Friday versus the Jets, but he was not practicing today.
And he also had Braxton Berrios, Francis Moenoa, Jermaine Illuminor with kind of like an unknown
injury.
Shelby Harris, Jack Kelly.
They were all working on the side with trainers, and then Colton Hood did return to practice
today.
So that's all on the injury front.
And good news on Hood, because he's going to have to play some significant reps versus
the Jets, you would think.
Yeah, and I kind of want him to play well and string together some good snaps, too,
because I think he needs it for his summer.
No doubt.
The only other cleanup thing that we need to talk about stemming from last show is we
had a whole segment of the show.
And, you know, hey, we go live.
We like to be first.
That's kind of what we what we want to do as a show is, hey, how can we be first and
get out there and have the reaction and take advantage of the moment?
Because everybody wants to hear.
Everybody wants to talk about the game that they just watched, right?
So part of the risk of going live and being first is we didn't have the exact reason why
Braxton Berrios and Darnell Mooney and some other guys did not play.
And we kind of took it a little too far.
Thinking, oh, those are those roster spots safe because especially we didn't have confirmation
like during the game before the game of nothing.
Turns out that Braxton Berrios is dealing with an injury and Darnell Mooney was at his
brother's wedding.
I mean, it tilts the whole conversation.
So I wanted you to forcefully wear an L.
I said that because it meant that Slayton was in some sort of trouble.
And I refused to do that.
You did.
And I clearly have to take that back.
So I was wrong.
We were all wrong.
And look, I'm not blaming the beat for this because they're all great reporters, many
of which have been guests on the show.
Their employers.
I know what it's like dealing with employer.
We all do did not keep them there for the game.
And therefore, they all speculated on TV and had me enough believing and you as well that
those two guys by virtue of not playing meant they were more safe than we thought.
That was a lot of reporters had that feeling.
And as it turns out, it was completely justified reasons why both are out.
I would add, I know this is not an original take.
It's been everywhere.
I still can't believe that Darnell Mooney's twin brother would get married during the
preseason of the NFL like that is wild to me.
But nonetheless, very interesting.
I do think it hurts Berrios more than Mooney, though.
Justin, just from the standpoint of maybe he is fighting for a roster spot and not coming
back out on Monday for a practice as well.
I mean, that's a guy.
I mean, we're talking about wide receiver six.
I know he was punt returner one in that first depth chart.
Now, suddenly, my eye goes towards his Berrios.
So we'll see.
Yeah, because, I mean, let's just face it.
If Braxton Berrios is not healthy, he is not in good enough standing on this roster.
All right, well, we're just going to hold your spot, buddy.
Like, no, like they will give that six wide receiver spot to Otto Beckham Jr.
And like, hell, you could even have wolves have this conversation with wide receivers.
But you you can even have the confidence that Deontay Banks and a guy like Devin Singletary,
they could be the two kick returners.
Calvin Austin could be the punt returner.
And then there you go.
There's no need for a Braxton Berrios.
So, yeah, he certainly is not healthy.
Heading into 53 man cut down day or if they don't foresee
that he's going to be healthy by the time the season starts, then.
Yeah, this wide receiver six conversation, I think it vastly, vastly changes
because I think very much that six wide receiver spot
is shaped around special teams, as I think it kind of should be.
So, yep, absolutely.
And we were going to obviously deep dive more of that when we give our 53s here.
Yeah, for sure.
Do you have anything else lead off before we get into the 53?
I kind of I kind of want to hear this bowl.
Take the F now.
Well, don't get yourself too hyped up.
I just believe it's something nobody's heard anywhere.
And I think it's just a giant point that if you are a diehard fan,
you'll be like, that's a good point.
And nobody has discussed it.
No, you teased it.
We have to hear it now.
Well, can we start with the 53?
Oh, OK.
It ties into the 53.
Yeah.
Well, let's just say this, Justin, who are on your special teams?
Fifty three.
I mean, are you putting like the straight up specialists
like kicker punter long snapper?
I think that's what you let's just get those out of the way.
And then because it'll lead to my take.
And then we can do the offensive defense.
Why don't we start that way on conventional?
Yeah. All right.
So let you want to start off a kicker, which is all of them.
Give me who you got.
OK, so kicker.
Ninety three point five percent of people.
Four hundred and fourteen responses out of four hundred and forty three
say that Dominic Zavada is going to win.
And then only eight point one percent say Ben Salls.
Man, how the how the tides have changed since the spring, right?
I think Zavada has really, really won the job.
I also have Zavada as well.
I have Zavada as well,
though I would be very interested to see
if a team is willing to trade for Ben Salls.
He's perfect in his NFL career.
Yeah, I think they are.
I think they very much should.
He's also been perfect through the preseason as well.
So punter and long snapper.
Well, punter Jordan Stout, I'm going to go with 100 percent.
And they only have one each.
So, yeah, Jordan Stout and Ben Mann.
OK, so here's what I was going to say about Ben Mann.
This is my point.
My hot take circles around Ben Mann.
Has anybody has anybody noticed any sort of erratic long snap?
So much so that I went back and I quickly rewatched the Dolphin game
and fast forwarded to all special teams plays.
Now, why am I bringing this up?
Do you remember when we all sort of had a mini overreaction
early in the summer when they released Triner
after they didn't bring back Casey Kreider?
And it was the idea of we're going with an undrafted rookie long snapper.
Like it was a very minimal little thing that felt important in May or June
or whenever the hell that happened
that we kind of forgot about
because it's not something sexy to talk about,
which is why I'm assuring you
nobody is doing the work and talking about this.
This guy's having an incredible preseason.
His snaps are awesome.
And if you're going to have an operation with a rookie kicker,
I think it's pretty freaking important
that the long snapper not be a disaster.
So my biggest hot take is that of all the positions
that we are talking about,
somehow they have uncovered an undrafted rookie with NFL pedigree,
giant pedigree from Boston College.
And he has been as perfect a long snapper this preseason
as you could have hoped.
So much so that we forgot that it was an issue.
We forgot that it could have been an issue.
Yeah, you know, and I'm so petrified
and I have, you know, we all have such PTSD
when it comes to special teams
that when they did make the decision to cut the veterans over the spring,
but that being Jason Sanders and the long snapper,
I'm sitting here with on pins and needles,
like, oh my God, what are we doing?
I feel like we're going down a path that,
you know, just not having enough depth
and not having enough options.
I feel like we've been here before.
We're putting ourselves in a corner
where we have to run out of,
you know, all these rookies and stuff like that.
But they've seemingly had perfect summers.
They've seemingly have done enough to impress this coaching staff,
which I think especially special teams wise,
they have high expectations,
you know, and even forget the
just resting on the pedigree of the coaching staff
and being like, ah, I trust them.
You know, like you said, they've performed.
These guys have come out and performed.
So they have.
And when you think about the longevity of Zach D'Alessi
and then into Casey Kreider,
I mean, Ben Mann, this training camp,
if this continues in the season,
I mean, you're talking about a guy who at some point
you're going to be having a conversation 10 years from now
is he one of the longest tenured giants.
And then even the kicker battle too,
even bring it back to that.
Yeah, the kicking battle is not a problem.
Like, think about it.
We thought, do they sign a veteran?
Do they sign a veteran?
What would a veteran have changed this summer
between these two guys other than taking away reps?
You know, I, I maybe would have liked to see Zavada
more like in-game reps.
Like, man, I would have just loved to see him kick that.
Even if it was a miss against the Vikings,
I would have just loved to see him like
be in that moment and see how he deals with that.
But I'm excited for him.
I am too.
Look, I don't, whatever.
We could all make our bold takes or whatever.
If Zavada makes his team,
the Giants are winning a football game
where they kick a 60 yard field goal this year.
Like, that is going to happen for the Giants.
And we're going to be sitting there going,
oh my God, we finally did it.
Like, I have no doubt
we're going to get that moment this year.
I don't know why.
It could be a game that we sweat out for no reason
versus Arizona, but that's going to happen.
All right, before we get now,
so now that we did the specials, you know,
typically that's like the last thing that you do.
Just doing those three positions.
We let off with that.
That lets you know that we're
where the Giants are as a franchise
and where the fan mindset is, where Sean's mind is.
Before we get to the meat and potatoes
of the 53-man roster,
I do want to talk to you about the Fanatics Sportsbook

Thank you to Fanatics.
Hell yeah.
Uh, quarterback pretty easy, right?
Uh, okay.
Well, I did have to change though
because I had quarterback.
I had three quarterbacks making it on my first 53.
I only have two now.
Yeah, I have two as well.
Jackson, Darton, James Winston.
Yep. Easy, easy peasy.
There's zero reason for Brandon Allen
to be on this team outside of a practice squad.
Yeah, basically 100% for both Darton and Winston
on people's responses.
5.4% Brandon Allen.
13.1% say Jay Koehner.
I am with the majority of people here.
Yep. Okay, me too.
So two quarterbacks.
But my first shakeup at least though.
My first shakeup because I had three.
Yeah, I didn't pull up what I...
Maybe I should pull up what I did in the spring
and maybe compare.
That's good on you.
Thank you.
Running back.
So out of the 443 responses,
we have 99.8% of people.
So you have to take into account
that maybe are trolling us a little bit here.
Yeah, for sure.
99% of people say Cam Scadaboo.
96.8% say Tyron Tracy.
86.7% say Devin Singletary.
2.5% say Eric Ray.
Only one person, one.
That's 0.2% said Damone Bankston.
And then this is like really high,
but I guess it shouldn't be that surprising.
But 97.3% of people do say Najee Harris.
So we have four running backs,
all with above 86.7% chance
of making this 53-man roster
based on what everybody filled out.
Yeah, I have all four of these guys as well.
My original 53 had three.
So I robbed a quarterback position
to add the fourth running back.
And Justin, you had done that homework,
which was obviously great
in terms of Harbaugh keeping four running backs.
So I'm here.
And also when they sign Najee Harris,
the rhetoric coming out of there
was less about whether he's going to be on the team
and more about whose role is what.
So I sort of took that as an indication
that they signed him with the expectation
he'll be on the 53.
Right.
Yeah, I also have four running backs.
I did mention three of the last four years
that John Harbaugh has carried four running backs.
That's a trend that I figured out
and that we picked up going back
to our spring 53-man roster episode.
But because they didn't really have
that capable fourth running back,
I'm like, well, it doesn't make sense to carry four.
Now they bring in Najee Harris.
I don't think they're bringing him here for no reason.
So I also do have four.
Now, what my preference is, Sean,
I don't think you need four.
You probably don't.
But I think they also carry four knowing,
let's just see the way Scadaboo runs.
Injury could pop up.
And Tyrone Tracy has been banged up in his career as well.
And Najee Harris is coming off an Achilles.
So I think when you consider three of those guys
and the fourth one being Devin Singletary,
three of those guys,
you at least have to have some pause with injury.
I think four does make sense
because you almost feel like you're going to be playing
with three at any given week.
Do you think there's any chance?
I know this would be crazy if they do it
because he has been practicing and kind of ramping up.
Do you think there's any chance
that they put Najee Harris on like a list to start the year?
Like an IR?
Something.
Just remember they could,
but you still have to make the initial 53
before they put you on that list.
Right. Okay.
That's important.
Also, we should actually talk about that real quickly.
Remember this,
because I'm re-reminded this every year.
You can go on injured reserve
and only miss three games and be activated.
Those rules have completely changed
from when they were 10 years ago.
But every single player,
which is why PUP is important.
This is why when Malik Neighbors
did not start on the PUP list,
it was worth noting.
They couldn't just throw them on IR
and keep 54 guys on the roster.
You have to have your initial 53 submitted
and then you can allocate guys to IR
and bring back certain guys you cut,
which is where,
if they want to do that, Justin,
and they want to keep somebody else
that they're afraid of being claimed,
they could play the game where they wave Ben Mann
and say, just sit tight.
Let's put this guy on IR.
Now we re-sign you as the long snapper,
like play the long snapper game
or whatever they want to do with that extra spot.
Which they have done.
The roster, like Timon Fox
would always be the guy that would be there.
Yep.
He would be the sacrificial lamb
where he's cut, they bring him back.
But they could do that with Najee Harris,
but he would still have to make the initial 53
and then have him miss the first three games.
Remember Jakob Johnson, the fullback that they signed.
I'm like, oh wow, the Giants finally have a fullback.
And then they would sign him, then they would cut him,
then they would sign him, they would cut him.
So they would do a lot of roster gymnastics.
So that stuff is coming.
That's a great point.
Fullback?
Obviously, I mean, I'll count this in the tight ends,
but yeah, Patrick Ricard.
Yeah, Patrick Ricard.
I'm still confused why they signed Grant Finley,
to be completely frank with you.
I mean, you're not going to play Patrick Ricard
for four quarters
and you also do want to run your offense.
So that was why?
It was just to give a guy looks
and run the preseason fullback offense?
I do.
It's just funny because we talk about offenses
and defenses running very vanilla,
not like all the real stuff in preseason games.
So that's why I thought to me that didn't matter as much.
But all right, I buy what you sell.
No, I mean, I think their core plays
are with a fullback in this offense.
So I think they're going to,
you know, whether it's Patrick Ricard
or whether it's another fullback.
By the way, I think Grant Finley,
I mean, everybody on that line had like a good game.
Everybody had a good game.
But I thought Grant Finley in particular
looked pretty comfortable as a fullback too.
And I guess if an injury happened to record
and Finley was on somebody else's practice squad
or whatever, you could sign him back
and he knows the book or whatever.
That makes sense.
Wide receiver.
Okay.
100% of people have Malik Nabors making it.
93.9% have Darius Slayton making it.
97.1% have Calvin Austin making it.
89.4% have Darnell Mooney making it.
100% for Malik Highfields.
89.6% of people have Odell Beckham Jr making it.
70.4% Braxton Berrios.
And then everybody else is below 10.
Dalyn Cambridge at 8.4%.
Jalen Hyatt's less than two.
Isaiah Hodgins at 3.8%.
Xavier Gibson at 0.7%.
Okay.
How many did you keep?
I have six.
Ravens have carried six wide receivers
each of the last three years.
I have six, but for most of this morning
and this afternoon, Sean, I had 52 guys on my roster.
So I had the option to carry seven.
I just didn't see the need.
Okay.
I went six as well.
And I leaned on a conversation we had
about Beckham and applied it elsewhere.
I have Nabors.
I have Fields, Austin, Slayton, Mooney.
We all have those five.
Yeah, the big five.
Yep, the big five.
And of course, we're not taking into account
the Texans already traded for Butte from the Patriots.
So I'm not taking into account a trade here.
I'm just going with my assumption.
I did have Odell Beckham Jr as my sixth receiver
and I did not have Braxton Berrios on the team.
My thinking now being with this injury to Berrios,
especially missing on Monday,
I think these are costing him valuable reps.
But also, if I brought up on Saturday's show
the idea of Odell Beckham Jr being cut
and going to a practice squad and accepting that role,
why would I not apply the same logic to Braxton Berrios
and also understand that with that elevation game,
you want him for a punt returner for three games
in the first half of the year, you could do that.
And then if an injury pops up,
sign him to the active roster.
So I'm keeping six with Beckham,
but I'm going with what I thought could happen
with Beckham at the practice squad with Berrios.
I think he remains on a giant practice squad.
And by the way, Dalyn Cambry,
I think will be on the practice squad as well.
Yeah, you know what's funny?
I forgot that I, so I have a document here
and I honestly forgot who I put as my sixth.
And this morning, I thought I highlighted Braxton Berrios.
I highlighted Odell Beckham Jr.
So you put Odell.
I have Odell.
Okay, so you don't have Berrios.
But okay, but you can see a world
that I'm talking about with Berrios, can't you?
For this team where he's a giant,
but he's just not on the 53.
Yeah, and also, if he's healthy
and they view him as that much of an advantage
at a returner, then guess what?
He should be the punt returner,
he should be the kick returner on this team.
If he's that much of an advantage.
We just haven't seen him in that capacity, Sean.
Yeah, no doubt.
And I can't keep a guy just to return punts
when Calvin Alston is on the team.
Right.
And I know at this point, yeah, forget kick returner.
Like, I'm confident with Deontay Banks
is going to be back there.
And if you're going to carry four running backs,
yeah, put Devin Singletary back there.
Can I throw something crazy at you too?
Maybe this is crazy.
What's to stop the Giants in a pinch in a game
if Calvin Alston got hurt from having
Odell Beckham Jr. catch punts?
He's done it his career.
We've seen veterans go back and do this a lot.
Yeah, if he just catches punts and doesn't really...
For all the talk that he doesn't participate in specials,
he can't be the backup punt returner on the team.
Yeah, I guess he can.
I know they haven't seen it much,
but also there's been no reason to see it.
When you get to the 53, you could.
I wonder when the last time he's even done it.
Yeah, but Justin, I mean,
think about even like the most random things.
Like, we're talking about a franchise
that once had a Dory Jackson returning punts
for no reason.
You know what I mean?
And the reason why they did that
is because he did it at USC and...
Beckham at least has done it.
You need a veteran to catch a punt?
He could do that at a pinch.
Yeah.
Yeah, so really like the advantage
for keeping Braxton Berrios,
if you view him that much as a kick returner
and then like, do you not...
Do you not want to put Calvin Austin
out there as a punt returner?
I'm okay.
And then my counterpoint to that would be
if we're running all this, you know,
12 personnel, how much is Calvin Austin
getting reps out of the slot anyway?
Right.
I want to look though,
when was the last time that Odell...
Because it's a good point by you.
When was the last time that Odell
caught a punt in an in-game?
I'm going to guess he never did it
with anybody but the Giants.
That's my guess.
But I'm using a different computer
and it is annoying me.
I'm having a bunch of technology at my house
like not function for me.
I'm using my Chromebook that I had
when I was in college.
That is where I am at right now.
Odell punt return.
Still loading.
Jeff, I'm going to have you...
I'm going to have you cut this
to make it just...
It looks like 2018.
Which he was a Giant.
Yep.
I have zero...
Oh no, hold on.
He did it in 2019 as a...
He had one...
Brown, one, negative six yards.
He had one punt return for negative six yards
in 2019.
So there you go.
All right.
So it's been a while.
I'm not, again, I'm not telling you
Odell Beckham Jr. is a Giants punt return.
I'm just saying in the argument
to not have Berrios on the roster,
if Calvin Austin were to get banged up
in a game
and what Berrios was offering is that...
In a pinch.
In a pinch, that's all.
Yeah.
In a pinch.
I still do think that, like,
I don't think Odell has done enough
this summer to really earn
that roster spot though.
So I struggle with that.
He hasn't done enough in terms of,
like, just catches in the preseason.
But, I mean, if Harbaugh's just going
based on the tape and the idea
is getting open and all this,
I mean, this is where wide receivers,
if the quarterback's not unloading the ball,
like Beckham got killed by Brandon Allen
in that first game.
But he has to catch that touchdown.
But...
But are we analyzing...
We're not analyzing Isaiah Hodgins
like we're analyzing Odell Beckham Jr.
So Isaiah Hodgins could be having
a great summer for all we know
getting open,
but nobody really cares.
No, Justin, it's a great point.
I guess my point would be,
unless you're going to tell me
Dylan Cambry,
tell me the other wide receiver
that absolutely has shown
he should be wide receiver six.
Because I could have an argument
about Cambry, you tell me that,
that's the route they're going,
I'm fine with it.
But, like, for all the talk about Berrios,
what the hell has he shown?
I mean, besides early in camp.
I mean, early in camp,
Berrios did show out.
All right, he was a slot
eating against the backup slot corner.
Most veteran slots do that.
Which it's easy for these,
you know,
gunner would eat.
Yes.
Every summer too, you know?
Yeah.
Look, I have no skin in the game.
I think it's a cool story with Odell.
I totally get football reasons
not having it.
But if you're going to give me
anybody else but him
at wide receiver six,
I'd ask the same question.
Like, what has he done to show me that?
But at the end of the day,
like, we both have him.
We do, you know what I mean?
We both have him.
My only caveat being
Braxton Berrios healthy.
And I haven't seen
Braxton Berrios return kicks.
So if they legitimately
view Braxton Berrios
as this clear cut
kick returner one
or kick returner with Deontay Banks
and then clear punt returner one,
then Braxton Berrios
should make the team
because that is a more valuable role
than wide receiver six.
Only Odell.
Yes.
Yes, yes, yes.
Yes.
All right.
But I have Odell making it for now.
Okay.
And so do 89% of people.
Tight end.
Pretty easy conversation.
Yeah, obviously Isaiah Likely,
who I'm assuming got 100%.
Isaiah Likely, 100%.
Theo Johnson, 99.8%.
Chris Manhurts, 89.2%.
Thomas Fedoni, 21.4%.
And Tanner Conner got two votes.
Look, when the Giants are carrying
a fullback as they are,
unfortunately, that just becomes
a numbers game
for guys like Tanner Conner
and Thomas Fedoni.
And the Giants did have
a little bit of a leadership
council announced today.
Which they had eight guys on it,
I believe, including both quarterbacks,
Jameis Winston and Jackson Dart.
But one interesting name on there,
Andrew Thomas was also on there.
The other interesting name
is Chris Manhurts.
And John Harbaugh apparently
is going to name game day captains
that those will be the team captains.
But these are the eight,
quote unquote, leaders.
So it's a little different
than what we're previously used to.
So Chris Manhurts to be voted
as one of the eight leaders
on this team.
I'm sorry.
But even if there was a thought,
hey, you think there's any shot
Fedoni could jump a Manhurts
and get rid of the blocking tight end?
Chris Manhurts, I think,
all but solidified our minds
that he's a thousand percent on this team
if he's already been voted
one of the eight leaders on the team.
Dart, Jameis, Manhurts, AT,
Andrew Thomas, Brian Burns,
Tremaine Edmonds, Javon Holland
and Jordan Stout as the eight leader.
I mean, I think even Judge
did like a leadership council too,
but they still were all captains too.
It's weird.
We'll find out when the guys
wear the C's.
I do like the idea
of both quarterbacks having a C.
It's always weird when like
if you're like the young quarterback
that's eventually going to take over
when you're not wearing a C.
Like last year, Russell Wilson
being a captain and Dart not
was just kind of weird.
So I'm cool with that.
But yeah, I just think if
I always thought Manhurts
was on the team anyway,
but there were some people
murmuring and wondering,
really, could they go
Fedoni over Manhurts?
Like that all got squashed today
when we find out Chris Manhurts
is one of the leaders on the team.
Yeah.
John Harbaugh and the Ravens
have carried three tight ends
each of the last three years.
You mentioned it's a great point.
They're probably going to use
Patrick Ricard in line
a decent amount.
That usage was really up
with Todd Munkin.
And I kind of I like that.
I like that as a way to get
Ricard on the field more
under Greg Roman.
His inline usage was
was down from what Munkin did.
So I hope Roman does
kind of borrow some of that
from Todd Munkin.
But you got to think like
I think Greg Roman,
the Giants offense,
they're going to use Ricard
more as a fullback
than what Todd Munkin did.
So I think it's
Ricard's going to be on the field
a lot regardless.
Doesn't matter.
As long as we're doing
I know we're going to do
the O-line in a second.
Also, F the Browns for a second.
This whole Deshaun Watson,
Shador Sanders thing
is just being mishandled.
And you just you know
that Todd Munkin is in
over his head as a head coach.
And he's probably going to be
one and done
when this thing collapses.
And the fact that the Giants
basically had to pause a year
to get the offensive coordinator
they wanted.
So Cleveland could just
throw a guy to the Wolves
instead of naming
Jim Schwartz their coach.
Man, F the Browns.
Because, you know,
we could have just had a
seamless Todd Munkin transition
here for the Giants.
Yeah, that would have been
that would have been sick.
I want I even wonder
if that was even his choice.
Munkin or Harbaugh?
Munkin.
But Deshaun?
No, it sounds like an ownership call.
They're paying him a lot of money
to go out there and play.
Yeah, what a
that had to be the worst.
Not only contract,
but they gave up so much.
I mean, they literally
let the Houston Texans
built like builds
like a legit contender
because it's crazy.
Now, again, I don't blame the Browns.
You're the Browns.
You never have a quarterback.
You're basically a running joke.
You never had a quarterback.
I totally get why they did it.
But man, that thing
couldn't have turned out any worse.
All right.
So we've been in lockstep so far.
Almost uneventful, but fun.
This is where it gets.
This is where it gets
a little bit more interesting.
You could argue
wide receivers and ----,
but only one spot
with wide receivers.
The old line is the group
that I'm most fascinated
to see how it plays out.
I carry 10 offensive linemen
in my 53 man roster
exercise in the spring.
I think it's a little overkill.
I don't think you need 10,
even though I now
I now I'm suddenly liking the names
like I'm liking.
I'm more I'm somehow
warming up to Joshua Zulu,
possibly being on this roster
more than I was
a couple of months ago.
So I had the Ravens carry
nine offensive linemen in 2025.
They did carry 10 in 2024
heading into September.
They carry nine in 2023
and 10 in 2022.
So even though 10 may be overkill,
they have carried 10
two of the last four years.
The Ravens have carried 10,
at least initially
going into September.
How about that?
I did not realize that.
OK, so it's not out of the question.
It's not.
I don't know.
Listen, we'll play this
the game of what you would
take off to add a 10.
Are you going back to the well in 10?
You said no, right?
I am not.
I am reducing it down to nine.
I have nine as well.
So either way, you know,
we'll go through the whole roster
and we'll look back
because put a pin in this,
whether it would be
worth keeping a 10.
A.T.
Runyon, JMS, Francis Momino,
Illuminor, Marcus Bowe
and J.C.
Davis as seven.
Yeah, I have those
seven as well, obviously.
Who are your final two?
OK, I can't believe this
because I basically feel
like it was a week ago
in the show.
I badmouthed him
because of old knees,
but I'm putting Lucas
Patrick back on the roster.
Yeah, I think so.
He'll be the backup center, though.
I wouldn't be stunned if Hudson,
if you flip the two out,
they're going to keep a backup center,
especially with John Michael
Schmitz's concussion history.
They're not going to screw around
with a guard taking snaps on the fly.
I believe it will be Lucas Patrick
and hold your breath
and hope he's healthy.
Then my ninth.
How do I not put Aaron Stinney?
He started the game.
He started the game next
to the other two starters
in Runyon and John Michael Schmitz.
So for all the talk
about his Zulu practice,
the fact that they put
Stinney right there
tells me he's ahead.
And I do think that even
like the minor injury here for Zulu,
I mean, you better get out there
and play your ass off.
I could see him making the team,
but it feels like a Zulu
has potential.
Either somebody else picks him up
or the Giants slot him
on the practice squad.
To me, Harbaugh also said
it is postgame presser
the following day on Zoom
was talking about Josh Zulu.
And, you know, they they even asked,
like, oh, you finally put
up Dunleavy asked him,
hey, you finally put him on guard.
You know, that's been
like an internal discourse here
over the last couple of years.
And Harbaugh kind of
gave a wry smile.
And he said, yeah, you know,
we did actually put him
back out at tackle
in the second half.
So we do view him
as a positional flex,
you know, position
with positional flexibility,
even though, you know,
we gave him a compliment like,
hey, are they going to
are they going to start
cutting down on that
on that term,
positional flexibility?
And I think for backups,
they probably see value in it.
And sure, like that's
something that I can understand.
Like, why let's not cross
train guys that we view as starters
or guys that we view
with like substantial
futures on this team?
Let's not mess around
and cross train
and do all this stuff
and not have like this vision
and a plan for a guy
at like a singular spot.
So I guess for Josh Azuda
and where he is
at this stage of his career, cool.
Harbaugh basically did say that he is
he's limited to the right side.
Like they only view him.
They only view him as a right guard
and they only view him
as a right tackle at this point, which.
And it can't be good
because then he's going to give you
both guard flexibility spots
and they very clearly,
I think, are trending towards
like if Andrew Thomas got hurt
in the week two game.
I mean, are they putting J.C.
Davis out there at left tackle
and keeping Marcus Bowe
only as your right tackle?
Yeah, I don't know.
I think I would still lean Bowe or.
I would too.
Or or even sliding
Illuminor over to the left
and then you have Marcus Bowe
at the right side,
which is maybe where I would lean.
But right now, like I have Lucas
Patrick and Aaron Sinney as well.
And why view it as 10, Sean?
Because 10 is overkill.
Because you have your two backup
tackles that in a way,
like I feel much better about J.C.
Davis as this as your second tackle.
I feel decent about that.
Better than James Hudson.
Yep.
Yeah.
Better than James Hudson.
And then you have Lucas Patrick
that's going to have
be your backup center
and give you guard flexibility.
And then Aaron Stinney
as your backup guard.
So you have two backup tackles
and then two guard slash centers.
So yeah.
And again,
whenever you're doing a 53,
I'm just like the fourth time
I'm going to say this.
The rules have changed.
If Izudu doesn't go anywhere else,
him being on the practice squad,
if you know a game week,
a guy is not going to be active.
That's a healthy lineman that you need
that use those elevations
on Josh Izudu in that way.
So the results from everybody
that submitted the responses,
obviously the top five all being 100%.
J.C. Davis at 94.8%.
Marcus Boe is at 100% as well.
Josh Izudu.
Am I seeing this right?
At 83 and a half percent?
I don't know, man.
That's a lot of meth used by the voters
if they think that.
Aaron Stinney, 62.3%.
Lucas Patrick at 43.3%.
Evan Neal at 33.2%.
Brian Hudson at 34.3%.
Jay Kubas at 7%.
And then everybody else with
basically below 2%.
So you got some Izudu stans in there.
83 and a half percent.
I wonder how many people voted on that
off the joint practice
when it felt like he slid right in.
Well, I put this out.
I think I put it out after the game.
Oh, you did?
I'm sorry.
I thought it was out earlier than that.
My bad.
You're right.
Well, even the, you know,
well, even the game.
Like, he played really well in the game.
It's true.
That's true.
Hey, listen, we'll see.
I mean, that's good.
It's, would you agree it's,
because of the center ability,
I'm assuming it's Patrick versus Hudson
and it's Stinney versus Izudu, right?
And if you carry 10,
who would your 10th be?
Would it be Brian Hudson or Josh Izudu?
I guess Izudu,
because he also has tackle flexibility.
I would lean Izudu as well.
I don't think they're going to carry 10, though.
I also don't think there's any reason to carry 10
with the way the rules are.
Right now, yeah, in my,
so I did pull up my spring 53 men roster prediction
and I think I had,
I had Izudu making it
because I was worried about the backup tackle depth.
That's what I was worried about.
Yeah, but how could you be worried about that now?
Yeah, we haven't,
hey, we haven't seen J.C. Davis
against anybody that's decent.
But I'm still pretty confident
Marcus Bowe is a swing tackle overall,
that if J.C. Davis is your now fourth tackle,
we've come a long way.
We used to not have that third tackle.
Sometimes the second tackle.
100%.
If they carry 10 offensive linemen, by the way,
I'm totally fine with that.
I would be very interested to see
where they take away from them.
All right.
Before we keep going,
because now we have fully moved off the offense,
we're going to go all defense here.
Before we keep going,
I do want to talk to you about hymns.

Man, Justin, I'm sitting here still
as we're about to do the defense going,
do I make this last second change?
Do I make this last second change?
So this is going to be
a fascinating conversation.
I've struggled with something.
Okay.
Shawnee has a thought,
but we'll get there when we get there.
Corners.
Okay, starting corners.
I like it.
How many are you carrying?
Six.
I'm also carrying six.
Damn, we've been,
we've agreed with everything so far.
This is boring.
That's okay.
Also probably a good sign for the Giants.
The weight,
them being fifth in the weight,
this is where I think it's really going to,
this position,
cornerback,
and then also interior D-line
is where you're going to feel like
the possible waiver claim effectively.
So I have six as well.
Here's what our responses said.
Paul Sinodibo at 100%.
One person thinks Greg Newsom
isn't making the rush,
but 99.8% of people do think
he's going to make it.
100% of people say Colton Hood.
99.3% say Drew Phillips.
Deontay Banks, 99.5%.
Art Green leading the way with the other ones.
33.4%.
Corey Black at 25.1%.
Nick Jones, 7.2%.
And one lonely vote for Ugo Amadi at 0.2%.
Who wears Tyrone Tracy's number.
Okay.
I have the big five, obviously.
Adibo, Newsom, Hood, Phillips, Banks,
as you do as well, I assume.
Yes.
I'm putting Art Green on there,
but I would not be stunned in the least
if Corey Black makes his team over Art Green.
Okay.
I think Art Green has more special teams value.
Yeah, I mean, it's hard for me to say what...
I haven't paid close enough attention
to Corey Black's special teams ability
when he's been out there,
but I do think that Corey Black
is at least playing with a little more awareness
than I thought.
Art Green has looked a couple moments
in this preseason like a chicken
with his head cut off.
I still think they'll lean Art Green,
special teams, all of that, wide receiver six,
but I don't know, man.
There's a part of me that thinks
that could be a minor surprise on Cutdown Deck.
Corey Black last year played 40 special team snaps.
That was 17%.
And this is not total snaps, by the way.
This is taking into account
the nine games that he appeared in,
the two games that he somehow started
for the Giants.
17% of snaps when he was eligible
to play in games for the Giants.
That slightly went up with the Jets
in the two games that he appeared in.
29% of the special team snaps
Corey Black appeared in.
Okay, all right.
I mean, he gives you something,
but yeah, Art Green probably
for the specials makes it.
Yeah.
Just keep an eye on that one.
That could be a minor surprise.
And again, I agreed with the Big Five,
but this is where a waiver claim
could very much come in as well.
That's a great point, too.
Great point.
Anything could happen.
The Bravens carried six in 2025,
six in 2024, seven in 2023,
and six in 2022.
So it's fair to presume
that they're going to carry six
leading into September.
Yes, but I agree.
I had Art Green.
Did you have Corey Black?
No, I had Art Green.
I said I wouldn't be surprised.
Like, if this is one I get wrong,
it wouldn't shock me.
Yeah.
All right, we're in lockstep.
This is crazy.
Gotta be not in lockstep at some point.
And I think it may be here.
All right.
What do we got?
Safeties.
Okay.
This is part of my conundrum.
And this is the exact room
that I had my conundrum to,
because we're going to do last three,
like, first three in, last three out.
When I tell you I had 52 guys
and I felt confident about the 52 guys,
this is where my 53rd came from.
Okay, so my 53rd, I guess,
is also coming from here,
and I want to switch it so badly,
but I'm going to stick with my instinct.
I kept five,
but my gut feeling tells me
we're going to get to the 53
and they're going to keep four.
I also have five,
and obviously the big four being
Holland, Nubin, Washington, Pinnock,
and then did we both keep Elijah Campbell?
I kept Elijah Campbell.
He was my 53rd man on the roster.
This is where I, like,
wanted to carry 10 offensive linemen,
but it felt overkill.
This is where, like, hell,
like, for whatever reason, Sean,
the Giants are carrying a fullback.
Like, I guess they're not carrying
three quarterbacks.
The Giants are carrying a fullback
and four running backs,
and I still found, for whatever reason,
like, oh my god, I have room.
I still have, like, another name.
We can carry a 10th lineman.
We can carry a 7th receiver
or, like, a 4th tight.
Like, something.
I was very surprised that after all this,
I thought Najee Harris
was just going to push this over the edge,
that I was going to have to have
one really difficult cut.
I had 52 guys comfortable,
and then that 53rd spot,
I'm kind of like,
it can kind of go anywhere,
and I'm all right with that.
Yes.
I don't want to spoil too much
because my other position
would be on defense,
not the 10th offensive lineman,
to get rid of Elijah Campbell.
And I think I have pretty sound reasoning,
and this is all, like, in the last two hours
this has come to me.
But yeah, I think exactly that.
And I think Campbell offers you
a lot of special teams and everything.
Plus, I also still view our Darius Washington
as a guy who could be a little bit of a duct tape
in the cornerback room as well.
Oh, yeah.
So that plays into it.
But yeah, okay.
So we have the same five,
but both with our 53rd man,
which is interesting.
Our Darius Washington also basically
does serve as a depth, backup,
and even nickel corner
that's going to play a lot of snaps.
So he's a special-
And I had the thought,
my initial 53, I had five as well,
but my fifth was Bo Braid
based on his Ravens lineage.
It just doesn't feel like he's done enough.
I know he picked up that fumble
at the very end of the game on Saturday,
but not enough for me.
Basically, the majority of people
think that they're going to carry four
because Holland,
Newman, Washington, and Pinnock
are all above 96, 97%.
Yeah, okay.
I'm curious for everybody else's,
I guess we'll count up
those percentages where it goes.
I wonder if-
And then Elijah Campbell,
Elijah Campbell's at 20 and a half percent.
You have Bo Braid at 5.4%,
and then Raheem Lane and JT Woods
are both below two and a half percent.
Damn, I hate-
Again, we're both-
In all fairness, I did have five.
I had this same-
Yeah.
I had this same predicament
with my spring 53-man roster
where I did carry Elijah Campbell.
I also carried Elijah Campbell
at the time of the spring
because he also legitimately
just had a good spring.
So.
Yeah, that's true.
That's true.
Now I'm so curious.
I'm so curious if we're going to be aligned
in a certain way of thinking.
Yeah.
This is another spot.
So we're going on to
interior linebacker right now.
This is another spot where
let's just say I remove
Elijah Campbell from this,
and if I want to carry,
let's just say I want to carry
six interior linebackers
instead of five,
I feel like I am okay with that.
Yeah, that feels like overkill
for this room.
I don't feel comfortable carrying-
Usually it's not though.
Usually it's not with this interior-
Like interior linebacker,
what we have learned on this show
and what we have said for years
on this show
is this is the one position
on the depth chart
that seemingly every year
it gets ran through.
It gets torn apart to shreds.
Okay.
But my pushback would be
this is the first year
I feel so confident in three starters
we're in the only two spots
that it just feels less flimsy
if everybody's healthy.
Like you're not going to be
dying to rotate guys out
when Tremaine Edmonds
and Arvo Reiss are on the team
and Micah McFadden
is the first guy up behind.
Right.
But even with injuries,
for whatever reason,
this is just the position
and this is the room
that always just gets torn apart.
So even if they just want to carry-
and even if it's to start,
even if they just want to carry six,
I would be okay with that.
So we both have five, correct?
Yeah.
And obviously are we going at 100%
on Edmonds, Reiss?
Is that what the listeners have said?
Edmonds, Reiss 100%.
Micah McFadden at 99.3%.
Jack Kelly at 98.9%.
I have those three top four as well.
I have those four.
So who was your fifth?
Zaire Barnes.
I'm also Zaire Barnes.
I think he's at this point
very much better than Darius Moussa.
Yep, which is-
it sucks for Mouissal,
but it's another one of those guys
as the roster gets better.
I think Barnes is so needed
on special teams as well.
I think he just shows up
every time you watch it.
Yeah, I think it was also just
not a very good draft pick
by this regime.
Yeah, Mouissal.
Very slow and they loved him.
Wow, that lockstep again.
29.3% of people said Darius Moussal,
22.8% said Zaire Barnes,
and then less than 1.2%
for Anfernee Orji and Chandler Martin.
Anfernee Orji?
Orji.
Orji?
Yeah, that is how you say it.
What a name.
I think I remember looking at him
at the draft a couple years ago.
Not a foreign name when he signed.
Anfernee Orji.
Yeah.
He has not shown up on my radar
at all this camp.
Bob Pappas said his name
during a preseason game.
I think he made some sort of player tackle
and I left hearing Bob Pappas
say the word Orji.
By the way, this was not the room
you mentioned, Sixers,
was not the room I struggled with here
with keeping Elijah Campbell.
OK, so then let's go to the Edge Room.
Thank you.
Brian Burns, Abdul Carter,
Kayvon Thibodeau and Chauncey Golston
all receiving north of 96% of the votes.
But there are guys in here
that have had like good summers,
like Trace Ford has had a good summer
and he's had a good camp.
Now, the interesting thing
about Chauncey Golston
is that Chauncey Golston
is now having this positional flexibility
with kind of going
to the inside a good amount.
So do the Giants technically
carry five edge rushers
with the intention of Chauncey Golston
playing both outside and in?
I still carried four.
All right, I carried four,
but this is, you nailed it, Justin.
This was the thought that came to me
after I'd already, you know,
emailed my 53 over to, you know,
talking Giants headquarters.
I said to myself,
not for nothing,
the emergence of Chauncey Golston
seemingly starting on the interior
of the defensive line,
I think might say more about
what they decide to do in the Edge Room
than the interior of the defensive line room.
What I mean by that is
you still list them as an edge,
but do you feel more comfortable
not wanting to lose
needing him on the interior
because, you know,
you have a game in the middle of a game
where, you know, whatever reason,
you know, Burns and Carter
maybe get a little nicked up in it
and it's Cave on there.
I think Caleb Murphy
has a shot to make the team
as the 53rd guy here,
even over Trace Ford.
I know Ford has played well,
but you see what Murphy
also brings on special teams as well.
He obviously had the big pop
on forcing the fumble
on that muff punt to end the game.
Like when weighing this,
do they really need the fifth safety
if you're going to need
to lean on Golston on the interior?
And does Caleb Murphy,
because everything he offers on specials
actually make more sense
to carry as a fifth edge?
Yeah, I think this is where
I get a little frustrated
with having special,
like, elongated special teams
conversations at this time of the year.
But they matter in the 53-man roster.
It does.
No, but my frustration with it is
is I don't know
and do not claim to know
outside of Gunner.
I don't know positions on special teams.
I agree with you.
So like, I would keep a guy
like Elijah Campbell around.
He does have a legit
special teams background,
but I'm just looking at snaps, right?
But now we're talking about
what roles on spot like where
where could they need guys on specials?
And could a guy like Caleb Murphy
fit better than another
another safety in another
secondary type of body?
You know what I mean?
Yeah, he could be right there.
Yeah, that's just OK.
So we get it.
Now, if you had to carry a fifth,
would you go forward over Murphy?
Uh, yeah.
I mean, he's just played better.
So, yeah.
All right.
That's fine.
I mean, flip a flip a quarter.
But either way, yeah,
I think there's a chance
they rob Peter to pay Paul
and keep five edges by Gholston's
versatility on the interior,
especially if they're leaning on him
to start games on the interior,
which, by the way,
if you look on our lads
like the giant step chart,
it's Shelby Harris
listed at the end.
And then Chauncey Gholston
is the next guy listed.
So, yeah, so this
could just be a me thing.
That's like, oh,
I'm just looking at Chauncey
Gholston has played
has played edge like his career.
Let's see where he's listed
on Pro Football Reference.
On Pro Football Reference,
he is listed.
God, I hate using a computer from 2016.
He's listed as a defensive end
on Pro Football Reference as well.
So we may be thinking
about this edge room all wrong.
And there's going to be a fourth edge
like Fordham Murphy
that makes the team
makes the team.
And does that mean one less
of these tackles we think?
Or does that mean taking a safety
or some of you would six linebackers
off that off the field?
Right.
So that's why I can't put
a 10th offensive lineman.
I keep coming back to this dilemma.
I think we correct it, by the way,
that it's going to be
Gholston on the interior
and they're going to keep an extra edge.
I mean, you could again,
you could still list
you can list Gholston
wherever you want.
Right.
But I think keeping an extra edge rusher,
it justifies it
because you have the flexibility
that Gholston gives you.
So it sucks.
I'm going to stick with the five safeties.
Knowing damn well,
I think we figured this out
and they're actually getting Ford
or Murphy is going to be on this team.
Yeah. And technically,
so those guys would be
one of your last three players out.
Yes.
Yep.
Okay.
Defense aligned.
Our last position group.
All right.
By the way, I didn't read the responses
for the edge rusher for the edge room.
My apologies.
So 2.7% say Khalil Kareem,
6.3% say trace forward
and 3.6% say Kayla Murphy.
And this may be
the biggest upset of them all.
Like we kind of talked about.
Yep.
Interior D line.
Darius Alexander,
DJ Reed and Shelby Harris,
all receiving more than 99% of the votes.
Bobby James and Travis receiving 83.7.
Lucky photo at 68.8%.
Josh Topu at 20.8%.
Zach Pickens at 9.9%.
And then everybody else.
Ben Barton and Quinn Barnes Jr.
And Marlon Davidson,
all receiving less than 2.5% of the votes.
How many are you carrying?
Five.
Not including Goldstone.
Obviously, I'm carrying five too,
but obviously and red red alarms.
Like one of these guys,
like lucky photo
is probably not going to be on the team.
Come cowboy come September 13th
and another defensive lineman
is going to be on this team.
Yeah, like there's going to be
an unknown body,
but in the world in which
nobody becomes available
to whatever after week,
like they just don't find anybody.
The five for me.
Well, reader and Harris,
I'm assuming we both have.
Yes, Darius Darius Alexander.
I mean, I don't know what you do with him
if he's not on the team.
Like, is that a surprise?
I doubt it.
Maybe he gets caught
if you find the right free agent
you keep photo.
Like, is that possible?
Maybe not.
I don't think I don't think
it is rush ability.
Well, no, I also don't think
this front office would like.
No, we're not cutting
a former third round pick
new regime.
Even with Joe Shane,
it's a new regime.
Also, they kind of need bodies.
So I'm not.
That's true.
I don't think they are either.
I'm just trying to find
what scares me here.
So I have those three.
I have lucky photo as a fourth.
And obviously I have Bobby,
James and Travis.
But like I've come back to
is there a world where you cut?
You have Bobby, James and Travis
make the initial 53.
Nobody claims him right away.
They everybody goes
through their waiver claims.
Then you claim your tackle.
And then by that point,
you hope nobody then claims
Bobby, James and Travis
on that first wave
because everybody's already
done their first wave.
Right.
And you hide them
on the practice squad.
Is that possible?
I think it's possible
that Bobby, James and Travis
starts here in the practice club
and makes the initial 53.
So those are my five.
Justin, obviously same deal as you,
though, knowing that
a new body is coming.
Yeah, at least one.
At least one.
At least right.
It could be two
and we get totally thrown off.
Yeah, I mean, then you're
talking about lucky photo
and Bobby, James and Travis
being, you know, not here
or they just carry six.
Again, entirely possible.
And then if they claim
that other guy,
does that mean less starting role
for gold, like depending
on the kind of guy it is
for goals, then they feel
more comfortable.
Yeah.
Slide him out the edge.
Like there's a million
things that could happen here.
But I'm with you with the with five.
And I have those five
Darius Alexander, DJ reader,
Shelby Harris, lucky photo,
Bobby, James and Travis,
especially putting like red circle
around lucky photo,
probably being that
I'm I'm disappointed in them,
but probably being that lucky photo
is the one that's going to be out.
If he if there is going
to be a guy that is out.
Does that mean we had
the same 53 man roster?
Dude, I think it does.
And that's crazy.
Now, first of all,
give us a lot of credit
because that means we didn't
like pre talk about this.
We did not.
And we're also not coming out here
trying to have some kind
of like hot take pound the table,
which is pretty good to good of us.
But maybe we're just inside
each other's brains
and talking too much, man.
Crazy.
Hate that.
But I'd rather that than fake
an argument for argument's sake.
Hate that.
By the way, as we're
wrapping up the show,
I do want to talk
about one more thing.
We got to talk about TaskRabbit.
Football season is
right around the corner.
And if there's anything
that needs to get done
around the house
before game day starts,
the clock is ticking.
And I'll tell you what,
I had TaskRabbitCon.
I've talked about
this experience before
where my sister has autism.
She lives in a group home
in Middlesex, New Jersey.
And I had TaskRabbitCon like,
hey, I need some furniture.
I'm too busy with work.
It was the middle
of football season.
I couldn't take a weekend
because football's on.
And I'm like, ah,
I have like really,
really one day a week
that I really kind of like get off.
And it was like a Saturday.
And it's like, well,
I want to hang out with my sister.
I want to pick her up.
We're going to go to lunch.
And but furniture
needed to be built.
She needed a new piece of furniture.
So I had a task,
a tasker go to her house,
build it all up.
It was so easy.
It was so nice.
It was so convenient.
And it was great.
And TaskRabbit,

Yeah, so we have the same 53.
Good times.
Good times, Justin.
Now the question is,
will we be right?
Probably not.
Very much.
Probably, I think,
I think based on that edge conversation,
we won't be.
Who knows?
They'll probably claim a,
they'll probably claim
a wide receiver.
Yeah.
Watch that.
Exactly.
Probably claim a tight end.
Oh, wow.
It'll be something randomized.
Absolutely.
Two corners out of nowhere.
All right.
We will not,
not, not, not be live on Thursday.
We've been trying to go.
I've kind of liked the pregame
like the pregame live streams
that we've done,
like Thursday afternoons
to kind of replace the Friday apps.
But instead,
Sean and I,
we are going to record
Wednesday afternoon
because I know you're,
you're back to work
and you're,
you've got a million things going on.
I'm going to a Met game
Thursday night to be honest.
Oh, that's right.
You're going to a Met game.
Okay.
How else would you rather be?
Joyous.
I'm sitting in,
to be fair,
I'm sitting in the Cadillac Club
inside the right field wall
with free food.
So.
Okay.
Yeah.
So Sean and I,
we're going to be recording Wednesday,
probably afternoon
for a Thursday release.
I think we're going to try
and get a guest on.
That's, that's my,
that's my intention.
We're going to try and get
one more guest on
to get one more final preview
before cut down day.
And there's not really a lot
to preview for appreciation.
We really haven't been
really previewing
the preseason games anyway.
So no, no,
I think though,
we'll do a lot of previewing
who's fighting for their lives
off of this 53.
Yeah.
And we'll talk about.
All right.
Appreciate you all listening.
As always,
we will see you on Thursday.
Let's go Giants.
It starts today.
Let's go Giants.
