I bought an ABARTH 595 and here's what I learned...

Alright now, here it is, my 2017 Abarth 595 Turismo. I've been owning this car for a few weeks now and I gotta say it's been amazing so far. The handling, the sportiness, it's off the charts with this little thing. A pocket rocket you could might say. I'm gonna talk you through a few positives and negatives that I've been able to work out so far. Why I really think deep down you can't beat an Abarth for what it is. Not a single other car that I can think of in this size does the sportiness aspect as amazing as this car. It's so tossable, it's performance, it's really quite something. And this isn't even the highest model. You know there's also the Competizione and the Isese. This spec, I quite like it. It's still a bit subtle. It's not too off the charts like a lot of Abarth 595s out there. This car is in the dream specification of mine. I've been searching for one together with my friend for a long long time now. But I always wanted a dark blue spec with a cream, not cream, it's like a tan interior. And yeah, so far it's been great. So I would say let's go for a ride. Aspects on the car. You might notice it's gotten a bit foggy here in the south of Germany. Quick change of scenery. But here you can see the back end of the car. Race car-y you might say. This is the Turismo model and it's made for long distance drives. And actually I think that's quite perfect for me. Let's talk about these wheels for a second. These are, I think they are called Turismo. Like I said before, it is not my favorite choice as wheels. But it were the base spec wheels on this car and I think it suits it. It's a nice match up with this color scheme and also with the looks overall. But I would rather prefer the Supersport wheels. Those are the wheels that you will see on most other parts these days, I would say. Yeah, I mean just look at this front end. Look at it. It looks so mean and aggressive but also a bit cute at the same time. I don't know how they managed to do that. Maybe it's because, yeah, it's basically... Everyone that says it's a Fiat 500 underneath, I mean he's not wrong. But the way they transformed this car from a Fiat 500 to this is just unbelievable. Now I wanted to show you the inside of the car. Excuse it, it's a bit filthy right now in the footwell. But look at this. The brown interior on the dark blue color scheme. That's just something else, isn't it? Today I've ridden this car for a bit of time. And you can already see dirt that's getting all over the back end. But I mean it's being used. It's a car for being used and having fun on the daily. And I think this is what it does perfectly. One thing I wanted to talk about which is actually not that enjoyable about. I mean it is a sporty car and with a sporty car normally comes a stiffer suspension. Don't really like the stiffer suspension. If you're on a nice smooth road it's not that big of a deal. If you drive in the sport mode in this car the rear axle actually or the rear dampers, they stiffen up also. That's not the case in the comfort mode. But if you drive in sport mode the ride gets so stiff. It's just a bit too much for my personal taste. Somebody else might like it. Because of course it is a very sporty feel. But yeah, that's just my opinion on the suspension on this car. Okay, let's see how it sounds. You just can't beat that. From such a tiny car with such a comparably tiny engine. I think it's awesome. Alright, now let me show you how I fit in this car. I'm a pretty big person. I'm 1.88m. I don't know what that is in inches. But you can figure that out. You can already see the seat is pulled back to the first position. And just like that. Pretty straight forward. Now, this would be my normal driving position. Maybe I would pull the backrest a bit more up. And as you can see, I fit quite comfortably in this car. And the only thing is, I think the seating position is a bit high. Just a bit too much. But I think it supports better for a little bit. If I look over the windshield, it's like 5 more cm and the car just ends. So it's pretty easy to get in tight parking spots. Now, I have planned to take a little bit of a drive up to the nearest mountaintop in my region. It's called Ruhlaun. And yeah, I'm trying to get up there and take a few nice shots for you on the way. So, let's see how that turns out. So guys, as you can see, I'm riding down the mountain right now. And in front of me you can really get a grasp of where the fog is settling in again. Going down the mountain. So we're literally like driving into the clouds now. This is... This feels a bit spooky all of a sudden. But yeah. Also the road up to this mountain, I wasn't quite thinking about it. The road up to this mountain is so patched up and not really just bumpy. Almost all the way through. The smooth surface only starts like 2 km up under the top. So the rest of it is really a bumpy ride. And that's what I was telling you about.
