Elgin U-46 students return to school with major upgrades

Elgin's U46 school district is introducing significant infrastructure and structural changes for the new school year. Funded by a 2023 bond proposal, these updates include expanding middle schools to accommodate sixth graders, constructing a dedicated athletic stadium for Larkin High School, and increasing the number of neighborhood-based preschool sites to improve accessibility for young students.
