Ukraine destroyed dozens of Russian Tu-160 and Tu-95 aircraft: Putin's military aviation collapses

The Russian Aerospace Forces currently operate 15 Tu-160 and 47 Tu-95 aircraft , of which 13 Tu-160 and 38 Tu-95 are combat-ready. One Tu-95MS can carry up to four Kh-101 missiles, while a Tu-160 can carry up to 12 of these missiles. This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in response to a Unian inquiry.
It is noted that as a result of the fire impact on enemy airfields, the number of combat-ready strategic aviation aircraft of the Russian Air Force has decreased.
The Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that, given the existing number of aircraft in the Russian Aerospace Forces' long-range aviation, the loss of even one aircraft is significant. However, the enemy retains the ability to use its air component to launch missile strikes against targets in Ukraine.
"After the collapse of the USSR, the enemy has been attempting to resume production of the Tu-160, but the Russian defense industry is currently only capable of repairing and modernizing them. Strikes against Russian oil refineries do not affect the use of the enemy's strategic aviation, as military equipment, particularly aircraft, receives fuel on a priority basis," the statement reads. Intelligence also emphasized that, fearing strikes from our side, the enemy is using airfields far from Ukrainian territory to base its strategic aircraft, specifically Ukrainka in Amur Oblast of Russia and Belaya in Murmansk. In preparation for strikes, aircraft are being relocated to Engels-2 and Olenya airfields, from where they fly to launch sites for strikes against Ukraine.
"The intensity of strategic aviation use against targets in Ukraine has decreased somewhat compared to 2022–2024 due to the relatively low effectiveness of cruise missiles. However, since the end of last year, the enemy has increased its use of ballistic missiles, as the Ukrainian Defense Forces have limited countermeasures against them," the Main Intelligence Directorate stated.
But as reported, Russia has hundreds of ballistic and cruise missiles of various types in its warehouses. According to intelligence, the enemy has: 600 Oniks missiles; 450 Kalibr missiles; 400 RM-48U missiles for the S-400 complexes; about 130 missiles for the Iskander-M as of August 5; 120 Tsirkon missiles; 100 Kh-101 missiles; 50 Kinzhal missiles each, as well as North Korean KN-23 and KN-24 missiles. Overall, according to the Main Intelligence Directorate, Russia is capable of producing over 200 cruise and ballistic missiles monthly. Currently, the enemy is focusing primarily on the production of missiles such as the Iskander-M, Kh-101, and Kalibr.
