Sketching Portraits with Crayons and getting to know them again as an adult

Today we are working on portraits for our 100 heads challenge and this month’s medium is CRAYONS - Crayola brand specifically. I tried a few “gimmicks” with this one to try to make them work within the portraits in real way and had a blast.

Materials used:
Crayola Crayons
Petroleum Jelly - brand doesn’t matter
Strathmore 400 series mixed media sketchbook
Prismacolor Col-Erase pencil for the initial sketches
Q-tips
Wooden cuticle pushers - anything will work that has a pointy bit that isn’t too sharp
The crayon sharpener came out of the box of 64 crayons
