Trains at Crewe Station, WCML - 22/08/26

A busy summer Saturday at Crewe station on August 22nd 2026.
2x charters due in at the same time drew quite the crowd from rail enthusiasts. So apologies for the background noise and people in the way in some shots.
The Blackpool Steam Express, was hauled by 86259 from Euston to Crewe where it was due to swap to a steam. However due to the heatwaves and wild fires, a steam ban across the UK was implemented meaning 37669 had to do the work north of Crewe instead.
The Retro Cestrian Bard was the other, operating to Stratford Upon Avon with a rake of Nemesis Rail mk3s and top n tail 37s. 37423 & 37407.
