AI GeneratedThe speaker vlogs her experience at a chaotic horse show with her ponies, Hugo and Panda. Despite challenging venue conditions and strict qualifier requirements for the London International Horse Show, both ponies performed well, securing third place in their respective classes. The video covers preparation, grooming routines, and reflections on performance and timing.
Hey everyone, welcome back and today is my first ever showing show vlog with Hugo. This isn't our
first show, we've been to one show already where Hugo was so so so good and that was actually a
horse qualifier. Guys this show is absolute carnage, I've just had to go and walk across
the showground. I don't even know if I was on the showground anymore but I was working in
in this field because their warm-up is like on the most 90 degree hill I've ever witnessed in
my whole entire life. I actually thought I was in France in Morzine warming up on the Alps
because it was that bad. So we found somewhere else and he was so good. I've warmed up for about
25-30 minutes because Hugo gets quite excited at shows and he has got a lot of stamina, haven't
you Hugo? He's calmed down a little bit now and he was actually very very calm when we got here as
well. So I'm very very pleased with that but I used this Equine America in his Super SoCalm in his
breakfast this morning, like the powder formula and I think it's really really helped because he's
like, this is giving panda right here. It is very very zen, like he's all calm, all chill and
unfortunately today I can't take credit for plats because me and mum were at a red post yesterday
and I was doing a meet and greet meeting all of you lovely people. I'm now a sponsored writer
for Red Post so it was amazing to get back to the shop. I think the last time I went there was in
like 2022. So this morning someone very kindly came in and plaited up panda and Hugo and you look
lovely. They are absolutely gorgeous, the plats. So they're all done. That was like one thing out
of my head because I was stressing. I was like, oh my god I'm gonna get back at like nine o'clock
at night from my meet and greet and then I've got to plait one pony up and I'm gonna have to
plait one pony up in the morning and I need to pack everything and like, I was like, there's a
bath. I was so stressed but my groom thankfully bathed. I feel like I've done no prep for this
show. Like I feel like I've, I can't take any. I feel, I think, I feel like I've just rocked up.
Please don't eat your reins because I do, give me them back. Thank you. Yeah I feel like I can
take no credit for the ponies at this show. I normally do everything. Normally I bath, I plait,
I pack, I do everything. I did pack but I didn't do any of the bathing. I didn't do any of the
plaiting. I just put the ponies in the lorry and packed. Nice treat. Nice treat. I, I was like so,
I actually, when I, when we left the yard this morning I was like, I've not done enough. But
Hugo and Panda are both doing a London International Horse Show qualifier um so I had to warm Hugo up
first and then I'm gonna go warm Panda up now because it's Panda's class and then Hugo's like
straight after so I'm not gonna have time to warm Hugo up in between. Obviously I'll be able to give
him like a couple seconds before I go in the ring. Down the hill. Down the hill. I might be
able to have a little walk down the hill going like and then a little trot up and then I might
be able to get in the ring. There's not even anywhere a mum can like lunge Hugo while I'm in
the ring. There's nowhere and this show is so carnage. I don't know how many kids that I've
seen just wandering around in like packs and it's so chaotic. The tannoys here are obscenely loud. I
feel like I'm in a football stadium. There is ponies everywhere. I've seen about three ponies
on the loose already this morning. I'm not even joking. So yeah this is actually Hugo's last show
of the season. Obviously unless he qualifies um but I just wanted to bring him out a little bit
before the end of the summer. He's gonna go um he's probably gonna have a little bit of a break
after this show um because he's not doing anymore and you know he's been in work. He's gone to a
couple shows. Son amazing. He's done so well and I always love to give my ponies breaks and I'm
like the biggest break giver ever. Like they're always on a holiday um and like any minor
inconvenience if they don't really want a show you can have four days off. Like if you or a week
just you tell me when you're ready. So I think it's so important for them. I'm all for breaks.
I think everyone should be. I think ponies should have at least like all throughout the year all of
their like little mini holidays added together. I think they should have at least six seven weeks
all together added up throughout the year at least. Ours definitely do have more um and not
just because I can't be bothered to ride them. I love riding them but because I like them to just
recharge. Oh my baby. He's a don't you dare kiss me. But this is our last show of the year but we
wanted to give it a little go. We want to have a little bit of fun. We've done a horse qualifier.
We're gonna do a London qualifier. See how we get on. Have a little bit of fun with it um and I
wanted to get him out before the end of the season's finished um yeah because we've never
been to a show so like a showing show with him. I think I've showed up to him like once so twice.
But Nathan's so good. Look how smart he looks in his little bridle. So I'm gonna pop Hugo away now
and then I'm gonna get Panda out, get Panda warmed up and then it's probably time for me to start
getting myself ready. Oh yeah? Okay. Please let go of your reins. I've had to um get some new
reins out and I actually think these are like pony size and he needs like cob if not full size
reins. Yeah I mean look at the other ones because he's like chewed through his other ones. I was
like if I go in the room with these they're gonna break because in the line up he's just like
eating them and Panda does the same thing. So I need to buy some new reins before the end of the
season because I'm gonna be losing a rein mid mid go around at this rate. Right let's get you put
away. He's being so chill. Look at him. He's got a little he's got a little foot rest going on.
He's standing. He's being such a good little boy. Aren't you Hugo? I actually can't believe how good
he's being. Like don't get me wrong. He's actually loving it. I think he's loving it. Don't get me
wrong. He's a very good boy but he doesn't normally stand by himself. Oh he's quite sweaty.
Yeah he's he's not um he's not normally good enough to do this with. Even at home he he's um
he's quite cheeky. You are. It's now time to get Pandita ready. Isn't it Panpan? I'll be honest
it's not that wet but Panda is so good that he's allowed to be on a long rein of the lorry. I don't
trust many of my ponies to do this. Especially not Rolo. So I've tried some new shampoo that I
got from Red Post yesterday and it's like the Veritas one and it's actually unbelievable.
It's so good. It's a whitening shampoo. It's the purple one and I tried the stain remover one as
well and that was also incredible. This is the Veritas Super Sheen and a lot of it is in foreign.
All I can read is the word super sheen. But look at that. Look how white that is.
Amazing. That's so good. Super snowman. Super snowman. Because normally I can only get it that
white with chalk can't I? That's no chalk. No chalk. Wow. Do you think it was chalk? I thought
that was chalk. No there's no chalk. He's got no chalk on any of his body. I didn't use it on his
legs though. I only re-washed his tail this morning because I wanted to chest out that shampoo.
Oh my god it's so silky. Oh my god. Hell no. You've got to touch that.
Touch it. Touch it. Touch it. Touch it. It's softer than I. It actually is. I'm obsessed.
Thank you. I don't take any credit. I didn't do the bathing yesterday.
She normally does. It's the first and only time.
So I just made a rookie ever. When you have... I need to have an M&M bag and a plaited bag.
This is what happens when your ponies share the same grooming kit and one wears makeup and one
doesn't. Strictly forbidden. I just put a body brush over him and this is what's happened.
Oh my god and now it's on the wet wipe. Hell no. Oh my god. You've got to do it. I'm cursed with
black. It's time for Panda's quarter marks. I'm locked in. Oh that is so wonky.
I can keep it going down. It is so bright. So Panda is all ready. I rushed to get changed and
I saw the colours going and I was like oh my god I'm in next. That's okay because that was
the colour championship. So I've got the class that's in now and then it's me so I probably
actually should be rushing more than I am. But he shouldn't need too much warm up. No. He looks
amazing. It's I find it so bizarre seeing him in pads. It's so great. I'm like thank god but it's
like so... he looks like a little dolly doesn't he? He's so cute. He's sitting like an absolute angel
haven't you darling? Perfect boy. I think they're on the back seat. Yep. It's a mess.
She's gonna tidy that up on the way home. She's gonna sit in the back and tidy it up because
it's an absolute dumping ground and we have made a little bit of a mess here.
So when Harlow gets on I'm gonna tidy all of this up. Oh that's embarrassing and
um you're gonna pop on, warm him up, I'm gonna grab the stuff. What are you looking for?
You've lost the gloves. That's weird. Just put them on. God it's been an absolute chaos. So we've got
Hugo who's pretty ready. He's got quarter marks, makeup, whole shebang. He's waiting on standby.
I'm gonna get Harlow in the ring. Get Harlow to do her show. I'm gonna run back, get Hugo.
Mid show. Mid show. Bring Hugo to the ring. Wait for the results. Get on Hugo. Get on Hugo.
Take Panta back. Run back. Get the show. We're actually not that far away though.
No we're not that far away but it's quite hard when you try and film it as well. Not easy. Don't
complain. Using this new gloss like eye gloss from grooming deluxe and it's like cotton can
bubblegum. Bubblegum super shine gel gloss gel. It is incredible. Look at his eyeballs.
So glossy. And it smells amazing. Oh he's keeping his eyes open nice and still for us. Thank you
Panta. Right on we hop so I can tidy up. Check that girth. Yeah can you just hold my stare up
there please. Lovely. Right. Good luck if I don't see you before. You know your show. You're not
gonna forget a circle this time. I'm just gonna do everything. Yeah. Even if it means doing it
twice. Like I'm just gonna do. Some of the moves you have got to do twice. You've got to do it on
each rein. You must canter on the straight twice. Yes. You must circle twice. You must walk on a
long rein. Twice. Once. But just do it twice. Okay. Just think twice everything. Yes because
you just gave the ticket away last time. Yeah you did the first time. Just gave it away. You
literally was like here's the plate. There you go. There's the ticket. See you later. Right I'm gonna
tidy up. Have fun. So I am now in the ring with Perfect Panda in the not exceeding 148 London
International Performance Pony Qualifier and I've already done one of these qualifiers and I forgot
to look at a circle. Also by the way you can hear any licking or sniffing in the background is
because Rocket is doing this voiceover with me. But yeah I wanted to run you through what you need
to do in your show for one of these qualifiers because I have looked through so many different
mark sheets and I can't find what I need to do. But I found it now. I did literally wing it for
the last show and I winged it for this show. Last show it said I missed out a canter circle and that
is why I didn't qualify. So this time I did two canter circles. But as you can see Panda is going
beautifully. For the criteria for a show what you have to do is you have to walk trot and
canter on the right rein. You need to do a canter transition on the straight on the right rein,
a canter circle, walk trot canter left rein, canter transitions on a straight line canter left,
an extended canter, a free walk on a long rein and a halt at the end of the display.
The performance is out of 70 and the manners and way of going including the go around are 10 marks
and the rider presentation and suitability is 10 marks as well. Type, freedom and action and
condition are also a 10. So everything is 10 marks and it's all out of 100. As you can see Panda's
show is going beautifully, his transitions are on point, the plats are looking brilliant,
the quarter marks are on point, he's looking extra white and if you can tell from this video
it is on a massive massive massive hill. Like it's not level at all and I guess the show can't
really help that because they get when they're given and they have to make rings out of it.
But it was heavily on the slope so I was kind of just doing my best to keep Panda really balanced.
He was backing off a little bit just not wanting to go too forward and I was like you know what
it's fine I don't want to be going flat out around here because it's just not worth it.
But yeah I was told that you needed to do a halt for four seconds in the middle of your show
so I did that. Apparently you don't need to do that and I also got told by someone that my show
was too long but I went into this thinking like I'm better off doing more than not enough. Here
I did a walk to canter, it was actually a lovely lovely transition. He was so so so good. You don't
need to do a walk to canter in your show but again I just kind of did everything and more.
Little extended, you only need to do an extension on one rein. So I did do it on both but here we
are, it doesn't matter. As you can see Panda's tail is so white, that's because I used that
veridae shampoo. I really struggled to get Panda's tail so so so white because he's literally so
white. Any little bit of yellow just makes him look so yellow. So I do normally have to chalk
his tail but it's not really good for his hair. It dries out and then I end up having to put it
in like leave-in conditioners all the time to really lock in that moisture and it lives in
a tail bag as well. But now that I've got this shampoo I'm actually going to be able to just
turn up to a show and just put some shiny spray on it rather than having to chalk it and then brush
it out because it's not good for his hair health and he is on a hair growth journey. My goal for
Panda is to get him to have a really luscious thick long tail. But the veridae stuff is unreal
guys and I get it from Red Post and if you use my code HARLOWHITE5 you can get 5% off your order
at Red Post. But here I am doing my pre-walk on a long rein. Apparently you also need to do
the moves in the order of the mark sheet which I also didn't know but we ended up getting third
and I was so pleased with that. It was quite a strong class to be fair and the pony that did win
did go really really well and she was the last London qualifier that I did and she did a beautiful
show then. She went last year and she did such a phenomenal show so I'm so glad that she qualified.
But now it's time for Hugo to go in the ring. Now he is quite an excitable boy so I was a little bit
nervous because obviously I didn't really get to do any warm-up before I went in the room with him.
I worked him in before I got him and Panda ready and then I was in the room with Panda and then Hugo.
So he didn't really get a warm-up right before he went in the ring so I was a tiny bit nervous if
he was going to be a bit excited or not if he was going to settle but he was so so so good.
He's actually a little bit lazy. He was literally just going around in such a nice rhythm.
He was looking so well. He is still on the rounder side at the minute but we are working on it I do
promise. As you can see the class is so so so big but Hugo stood so lovely in the lineup. I decided
to go last for some reason. I'm not really too sure why because he gets quite excited and sometimes
he doesn't like standing. So going last probably wasn't the best idea but he stood like a rock the
entire time. He did try to eat his way through his reins but we got there in the end after about
two packs of polos. But as you can see he's going so lovely in his show. I did kind of switch up
Hugo's show a little bit especially after someone told me that my show was so like too long and I
actually missed out my serpentine in the last show so I'm so glad that I didn't do that because I
think I would have been there all day just doing my show. But with Panda he goes so lovely it's so
easy to just get caught up in the moment with him. But both boys did so lovely with their counters on
the straight. I never do a counter on the straight in my show purely because I don't want to risk
going on the wrong leg and touch wood every time I've done a counter on the straight I have never
wrong legged it but you just never want to be in that situation where you're like oh my god I've
been pulled top I'm going to do a counter on the straight to try and like stand out and then you're
wrong like it and then you don't qualify for something. No one wants to be in that situation so
I do play it safe a little bit. But after today how both boys have gone so well I think I might
start introducing it into my shows to be honest sometimes but in these London qualifiers they
don't actually do the pull-ins. You literally just come in in any order hence why I went down the end
but mum did say to me in the line-up she was like don't do that standing thing again because it made
your show too long but I did it because I actually didn't hear her say that. I heard her say only do
one extension didn't hear the rest of the sentence so kind of did my own thing again. Again with the
walks counter you don't really need to do it I don't think like this was a water counter I think
I just trod and then counted probably would have looked probably would have been a bit better if I
did just do a water counter but he wasn't I didn't have his full attention through the transition so
I was like you know what not gonna risk it. Again lovely extension I actually kind of if I'm gonna
be honest I kind of forgot where I was going at this point so I did just really wing it but we
ended up getting third. He was so good and yeah I honestly absolutely over the moon with him he was
such a good boy. I'm so pleased with that. What a good Hugo bear. He got very very excited for the lap of honour.
The lap of honour? Yeah he was like oh my god I've been asleep all this time I'm recharged all my
little Hugo batteries I'm gonna be spicy but he actually was so lazy in his show. But he's perfect
yes because he he does get quite excited doesn't he so they both no one outdid each other no the
brothers didn't outdo each other they thought you know what let's do get the same let's just get the
same and then fair and then she can't favourite either of us then we both get the same instagram
posts because same amount of treats same amount of treats and same amount of pants but to be fair
they all get the same treatment they do they all get the same treatment oh hugo
I thought it was going to be like when he came out to do a show I thought he's either going to be
very spicy or he's going to be very good boy he was very good boy what a little legend that's
lovely little I thought that's the one of the better shows we've done out of our other one
yeah it was good can't complain
she must have liked him more I I felt like she looked at him more on the go around she liked
him more than panda which is she must not have liked panda because panda did do a foot perfect
show I thought panda show was better than his yeah it was and I know they've got the same mark
but there was a lot more ponies in hugo's there was loads in there wasn't there I didn't even
realize loads yeah I'm so proud of him I do realize his knees are slightly different shade
of black oh they are but you never mind in the moment he was like licking one of them
oh that oh was he let's get a picture of you two together I'm not gonna kiss his nose because he's
got a lot of makeup on we're getting right nice and close with him come on hugo because you're
having a little holiday now yes that's holiday you're having a little holiday and then you're
we need while he looks glam so so we remember what he looks like
yeah when he's in the field but hugo we've got to stop biting the rosette
hugo look at me there darling right that is it he's a little dino
did you enjoy riding them in there yeah I did to be fair he was so good he was a lot calmer
oh yeah he was really good boy I just felt my your teeth on my fingers I just thought you're done
I realized that as you were going around
all right
oh look at all this it's like dominoes in her Tetris Tetris
oh my god that's disgusting from getting you ready with your mother what a good boy
oh he's biting the rain hugo seriously he just loves biting biting stuff so we had a little
bit of feedback didn't we from one of the mums she said your show was too long too many moves
and you don't need to do the canter twice because one minute I'm not doing enough and the next
minute I'm doing too much so we've got to find somewhere in the middle yeah well he's done now
oh I know next year if there's a really really local one we'll do one more
oh you were so good though I am very very pleased with how they both performed today
so we had a little bit of feedback didn't we so guys the ponies are in I've unplugged them all
and everything and we are about to hit the road I am very very pleased with how both of the boys
behaved today panda was such a good boy considering I literally gave him about two minutes warm up
because the warm-up was on such a hill I've never seen in my life before um so yeah panda was
amazing hugo was amazing I'm so so so pleased third for both of the boys a first would have
been nice to get a ticket but you know what I'm I'm so happy they both did some lovely lovely shows
and I guess I didn't think I had to do anything this time I remember remember to do all of my
stuff and more but you weren't taking chances I wasn't taking low chances and you actually said
to me to everything and more what I did I did say the second time on you guys I did say to you don't
do the whole you said don't do you said don't do the gallop I didn't hear you say you don't do the
I was like why is she doing it because I didn't hear you say that I just thought you said don't
do the gallop well do you know what I thought oh she's getting her money's worth she's really
schooling him around this today I was like she knows she's not gonna win so she's gonna absolutely
get her that is vile saying that she knows she's not gonna win you didn't know that
I knew that that's showing darling but we had a great day kind of I'm just glad I don't have
to barf and put that up I feel like I haven't wasted any time I feel like you yeah you won
yeah I do what I'm winning in life I'm not gonna be on this high for a very long day because I am
gonna be barfing you're back on it I'm back on it all of next week so yeah but we've had
such a lovely day and we're very pleased with Hugo yeah but it's actually not been too hot today has
it it's there's been a lovely breeze the whole entire day Hugo looked fantastic today he enjoyed
himself he definitely did and we're gonna hit the road now bit of a short vlog today wasn't it yes
but I hope you guys have all enjoyed watching it's a little bit of a Hugo update wasn't it
a little bit of a Hugo update yeah I mean we didn't really film his first show back did we
no because it was absolutely it was clashy mess I know there was like it was impossible to film
everything I started and then it all went downhill yeah I tried to film it and I couldn't sustain the
day so I was like right the vlog's finished now the vlogs are right off vlogs are right off when
they were in the ring at the same time that's when it all stopped yeah when there's we don't really
like taking two to a show because it's hard work it is hard but if my classes are on like first
and last class or if we're at a stay away show it's fine but it's when they're back to back
they're back to back or there's like an hour between the classes because there's just not
enough enough time or when there's no not before times oh that's hard it's so hard like today we
were guessing what the whole time weren't we but we made it and we've had a lovely lovely day the
ponies have been such good boys and we've come away with two thirds I just realized in the back
of my lorry I don't have one red rosette it's not been a lucky lorry yet which pretty much sums up
my season I think I've got every other placing in the back of my lorry apart from first you're
getting punished that sounds so bad that I'm saying oh I don't win anything but we haven't
we haven't been out that much in all fairness and we haven't that much yeah that's that's
actually it I don't know where I was trying to go with that we've been show jumping and we've
been loving it I know yeah I feel like I've been out loads but we actually haven't no I feel like
we've been to so many shows but we haven't been to bet we've been to barely any it's because we've
been doing loads with Ruby and stuff um but yeah I haven't had RI and that didn't class as a qualifier
yeah and RI felt long it was busy yep but that was great but I hope you enjoyed watching a
little Hugo update vlog I guess um I'd say stay tuned for more Hugo vlogs but
he's having a little holiday now he's gonna go and enjoy being a pony in the field hopefully not
getting too fat hopefully not getting too fat because I've just about gotten some weight off
and then I was gonna go put it all back but he's having a great time you know horses are horses
and at the end of the day you can't control everything about them but I hope you guys
enjoyed watching today's vlog and I'll see you very very soon bye
