For lovers of slow living and cottagecore — spend the final days of summer with me in the countryside, filled with cozy autumn homemaking, seasonal decorating, cottage garden flowers, homemade food, sewing, baking, and the first peaceful signs of a new season.

Welcome to the beautiful transition from late summer to early autumn in the countryside, where I prepare our home for the changing season through simple homemaking, cozy cooking, handmade projects, and everyday country life. In this video, I decorate our country kitchen for autumn, gather asters, zinnias and marigolds from the garden, prepare a comforting homemade dinner, sew an autumn pillowcase and alter a table runner, and bake homemade cookies on a rainy afternoon.

🍂 I begin the day with cozy autumn homemaking — cleaning our country kitchen, bringing out pumpkin and acorn garlands, seasonal cups and warm autumn decorations, and hanging a thrifted curtain that I altered with ruffles.

🌼 Before summer completely disappears, I return to the cottage garden to gather asters, zinnias and marigolds.

🍽️ For dinner, I prepare simple homemade comfort food with roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions, garlic, potatoes and meatballs — a seasonal meal for the cooler evenings at the end of August.

🪡 The next rainy day becomes a cozy sewing day at home. Inspired by a beautiful book about countryside life, nature and the world of Beatrix Potter, I turn decorative kitchen textiles into a handmade autumn pillowcase and alter a table runner with ruffles and lace for our country kitchen.

🍪 As the rain continues outside, I light the first candle after summer and bake homemade cookies from scratch. The warm oven, little lights, handmade textiles and sound of rain make the house feel especially cozy as autumn slowly begins to arrive.
