Hello everyone, this is my average day as a financial analyst. I currently go twice a week.
I don't always wake up this early but I try to on the days I go to the gym.
The gym at my condo is not open yet so I'm currently going to my friend's gym.
In the summer this was fine but Toronto's weather right now is horrible. Apparently it was the
coldest place on earth this week and I genuinely believe it. Even then I'm still going to the gym
because it helps me stay active for the rest of the day. The way I see it, I find the gym to be
a trade-off. You are increasing your physical fatigue to reduce your mental fatigue and this
is really important for someone who is in front of a computer the entire day. I'm usually in the
gym for an hour. I mainly go to stay in shape so my gym routine is not too intense. By the time I'm
done, it's already bright outside. I start the day with a cup of AG1, not sponsored. My friend
gave this to me but honestly I don't even know what it does. Apparently it's healthy so I just
drink it. After that I begin making coffee. I drink instant coffee that I brought from Korea
then pour in hot water and then I get ready to work. I try to start a bit early so I have time
to review my email and messages and this helps me mentally get ready for the rest of the day.
I try to stand at least an hour and then until my legs get tired and again if you're in front
of the computer all day you need to try to get exercise in every chance you get. Right now it's
not too busy since we're at the end of January. We've already closed our financials and reported
our results. I mean it's still busy but just not like you always have to be present type of busy.
At 11 we had a meeting with our investors. This was mainly to go over our fiscal year 25 results.
We beat the budget so our conversation went pretty smoothly.
Lunch is generally my biggest meal. I usually eat one meal a day which is lunch and I try to add as
much protein as I can but I also realize that if I eat too much I also get tired so I'm trying to
split my lunch and dinner more evenly. In all honesty I think I'm just too lazy to cook twice
and do the dishes twice but it's a new year so I'm trying to develop better habits. I usually just
eat where I work. I don't end up spending the entire hour of the lunch just eat clean dishes
then get back to work but because my work is more deliverable focused sometimes if I end up spending
more than an hour on lunch I'll just make up for it in the evening. The afternoon is usually my
focus time so I have this time to just lock in and work on analysis. January is a relatively busy
period because it's the beginning of a new year so we have to build new financial models for new
metrics that we want to see in 2026. By the time it hits 5pm Toronto is already getting dark.
For dinner I went outside as you saw my lunch was quite small today. I went to The Well which is
about a 10 minute walk away. I got BHC for dinner which is Korean fried chicken. I always get the
tenders. I love boneless and I love white meat. I don't know if it's a good thing but I usually like
my food bland so I guess it's technically healthier. In 2026 I began taking better care of my skin.
I usually just rinsed my face but Toronto's weather is making my skin too dry so I'm following a face
care routine that my friend gave me. So it is currently 8 51 p.m and I'm going to be working
on my personal business until 11 pm. The business is called Shin Financials. I even made a cup
after it and my business is pretty much I provide excel resources to finance and accounting students
and people in that industry so that they could actually practice using excel to solve real life
problems. From my personal experience university didn't really do a good job in developing my excel
skills and after graduating I realized that 99% of my work is done in excel. So what I decided to
do was provide an avenue for people to actually practice using excel to solve real life problems.
If you're interested the link to my website will be available in the description. Most of my
resources are free so you're free to try it out as well. I gave myself weekly goals to create materials
for my business. Sometimes when I'm behind schedule I would work until midnight to get them done.
It is tiring but at the same time it feels rewarding.
现在是晚上11点我快要开始学习中文一个小时
我的目标就是在未来我自己去中国旅游的时候
我会能跟本地人有一个流利的对话
On average I sleep around 12 to 1 a.m. I'm usually tired by this time so I end up falling
asleep pretty fast once I'm in bed. And that is my average day.
