We are back from Malta. So excited and grateful to be back home in New York City,
getting back into our routine and just we love being back home. Yeah it's been so nice being
back. The exciting thing is that right now busy season is happening with New York Fashion Week
coming up and then there's like holiday campaigns and stuff so a lot of these brands are doing
events. It's kind of one of the first seasons where we've actually been here and not traveling
the whole time so we've got invited to quite a few events. We actually have some today
and we're super excited to bring you guys with us. I'm gonna finish getting ready now. Okay.
I also just got this new bag from Song Mon that they sent me. I have two bags from them now which
I absolutely love this brand. They're actually the sponsor of today's video and I'm feeling like one
of the luckiest girls because I'm actually one of the first creators to receive this bag. All of the
colorways are beautiful but I went with white because I actually don't have any white bags in
my closet so I just felt like this was perfect. I am in love with the detailing of this bag. It is
crafted with this gorgeous full grain pebble leather and the interior is lined with a luxuriously
soft shirling leather. I also love that they have premium jewelry grade stainless steel gold
detailing and then there is a little card pouch inside so you can keep your cards,
id, anything like that and it's like safely connected to the bag which I absolutely love.
I also love the fact that there's a magnetic opener because it makes things so much easier
when you're on the go if you just want to grab like your fan which for me is all the time when
I'm on the subway. I'm sweating so it makes my life so much easier. Oh and it also comes with
a long strap so you can make it into a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag which is beautiful as well
but today I'm just gonna hold it like this. I'm super excited. It's so pretty. I feel like it
literally makes the whole fit. It really just tied everything together because today I just
went a little bit simple because she's the star of the show. So I'm going to leave the link of
this bag in the description box below and we are going to be late for this event if we don't leave
now so let's get going. Our first event of the day was for a hair care brand that I have always
loved which is K18. There was actually two parts to this event with the first part being focused
on introducing their new product launch which is this miracle hair serum named Future IQ. They had
a bunch of fun booths and games set up to win prizes and learn more about the product but the
interesting part was definitely this full scalp analysis they had where they'd scan your scalp
and tell you about your overall scalp and hair health. Marcelle and I both were so scared to sit
down for it because part of us were terrified that they were going to say that we were going
bald or something. It was actually so cool and informative but this part was truly just the
beginning as the K18 team ordered us all Ubers to head over to part two of the event which was a day
of art, yummy food, and community at one of our favorites in the city, Happy Medium. After everyone
got settled in and had a bite to eat the team came out and told us all what we'd be creating today
which were these super cute branded trays. There was brushes tied with the cutest little ribbon and
all the colors that we could possibly need. We'd come up with our own designs and paint the trays
with a kiln safe glaze which the team at Happy Medium would fire in the kiln and then mail to
us later this month as a finished product for our home. Juan Marcelle and I absolutely loved this
idea and decided it'd be a great opportunity for us to make something memorable and help decorate
our next apartment once we finally find it. So we came up with our own design which would be
simple with me using olive green as my primary color and then adding brown splatters all over
the tray and Juan Marcelle doing the inverse of those colors. It was honestly such a lovely experience
and the time completely flew by as we painted in our trays and socialized with the rest of the table.
That was probably my favorite event we have ever been to. That was so fun like I just love that it
wasn't a loud bar or like restaurant it was like something where we all got to like really get into
a craft and talk and I don't know it was just so fun. As soon as they said it was going to be at
Happy Medium I was like this has Rylan written all over it. Yeah that's like the best thing you could do
is give me something to do art with. Yeah that's actually something we wanted to talk with you guys
about is like if any of you are creators or just in your job you have to do a lot of networking
is it just us that it feels like that's a skill that we just don't have? We just have a hard time
like going up to people. We don't want it to feel like we're just networking or like
we're just going up to someone because we're like trying to have a new contact but at the same time
that's kind of what the event is for I guess so it's kind of hard to find the balance because
we want to make a genuine connection but a lot of these things are in like loud environments
like bars or something like that with like loud music and you can't have like a real conversation
sometimes and we get anxious with that I don't know we're not that good at it but this one
when it's an event like that and it's like a very welcoming space to have longer conversations
that's where we shine for sure but yeah I'm always curious is that just a skill that you're born with
or what anyways we are hungry now we had a little plate of food there but want like a real meal we
haven't eaten like a full meal yet today and we're walking distance from a spot we've been really
meaning to try it's prince street pizza we're super excited about this because people say it's
the best pizza in new york we always think of industry is but we've been proven wrong by you
guys before so let's see about this
all right here it is you ready we got the three most popular holy
three most popular slices spicy vodka oh spicy vodka yes spicy pepperoni spicy pepperoni and
then this one was the naughty pie naughty pie all right which one do I try first yeah he said
the naughty pie is the most popular oh my gosh flavor blast flavor blast and the crust is so good
i'm on the fence about let's see what you think and let's have a few more bites and then we'll
judge it versus the industry but good start okay cheers cheers
really good try this one the flavor is insane the only thing i'm saying against this one
so oily it's very oily like greasy yeah and i feel like if you're in the mood for like a
just a hearty slice like when you're drunk or it's like a late night you just want something
fill you up like this would hit really hard so hit but when we're usually looking for pizza
we're not trying to have it feel like we like yeah or like i don't really like super thick
crust yeah like i don't really go for that but the bite on this crust is so good i do like this
like a lot of bread yeah oh really good really good i mean the industry is a 10 out of 10 to me
yeah this is like 8.5 yeah i would say like seven seven is crazy that's harsh i just like
you like so you like you need pizza more yeah wow okay so you like a thin slice
i do get it yeah this is really delicious to me though i'm sticking with 8.5
after a heavy lunch we felt like we wanted some movement plus we had some time to kill before our
next event and the weather outside was absolutely perfect so we hopped on some city bikes and
decided to just ride around the city and take it all in which is one of our favorite things to do
in manhattan honestly we recently caved and finally decided to pay for the city bike membership and if
being honest it has been so worth it the price of subscription is 239 per year or around twenty
dollars per month and with the amount that we use these things it has honestly been paying for itself
so we were actually feeling extra inspired by our time at happy media and wanted to go see some art
so we decided to go see a museum that we had never been to before called the guggenheim it's one of
the main museums here in new york we hear about it all the time we have to go check it out we know
that but we just haven't gotten around to it and we got there just now and the main like spiral area
that is like what you go there for was actually closed down for they're like reinstalling new
pieces there so we decided not to go today because we have to save it for a time where we could see
it in all of its glory we were pretty sad about that because we were excited to get some air
one thing we're both craving is coffee we haven't had a coffee yet today which is actually
yeah explaining a lot of why i feel like a train hit my head which is probably a reason why we
shouldn't get another or like a coffee we should try and refrain from the caffeine for a couple
weeks but clearly we're addicted we have patrols yeah so that's the mission right now coffee all
right we got our coffees walked right next door to washington square park today we probably seem
insane to a local because we have been almost everywhere in manhattan today we were going
up town for the guggenheim but since that didn't end up happening we probably look insane yeah we
just went up there just said two words in central park then came right back down and went to another
but we actually have to come back to this area because we have an event tonight this one is one
that i'm super excited for not to say i wasn't excited for the k18 one but that one was one
ryan was super excited for this one is a google event and i'm just blown away that we got invited
to this one because we're not we're not like tech creators yet somehow we get invited to these and
it's something i'm super grateful for because i am interested in tech
so that is in about an hour but now we're just gonna people watch and just hang out
because it feels really good in this park right now i was overheated for sure she was grumpy
as the start time of the google event approach we hopped into an uber and headed straight to
the venue which was actually at a really cool concert venue which should have been
the first sign that tonight was going to be much more than just a typical event and as we scanned
in and made our way through the neon lit hallway we were met by the sounds of a booming dj set and
one of the coolest dance floor setups we've ever seen and this is when we learned that this wasn't
a product launch event this was the after party celebration for the launch of the newest google
pixel which meant this was a party juan marcel and i aren't typically the types to go out to
clubs or anything like that we're much more low-key homebodies than this but it was honestly
a really nice change of pace being forced out like this and after we had our fill of loaded
tater tots dancing and fun we looked at each other both feeling overstimulated and said the
words let's go home and watch tv so we ordered an uber drove off into the night crossing over
the brooklyn bridge getting one more look at the iconic manhattan skyline what a lovely day this
was we are so grateful that we get to live a life like this and we are beyond grateful to get to
share the journey with you guys watching so as always thank you for being here we love and
appreciate you guys so much and we will see you in the next one
