Can you guys guess what type of shape and cut this is? And if you do guess it right, I mean
you're just a phenomenal enthusiast or jeweler, depending on who's following me, right?
And, you know, if you take a look at this, what kind of stone is it? What kind of shape is it?
What kind of cut is it? What if I told you in today's world, you are no longer having to settle
in terms of your jewelry and gemstones, right? So what I'm going to be talking about today
is custom cut gemstones. Custom cut gemstones, what does that even mean?
Well, let's talk about jewelry. You know, just to simplify it, for the longest time,
many decades, people wanted to buy jewelry. What they had to do is go into a jewelry store,
take a look at the showcase in a mall or whatever, wherever the store is at,
maybe a retail shopping center, and then take a look at the pre-made piece of jewelry.
If they liked it, they purchased it, they go home, they wear it, they propose, right?
Over the years, over the many decades, because of the advancement of technology,
custom jewelry became much more accessible and available to the average person because with the
new technology, you are now able to create your own jewelry. You no longer have to settle for
that solitary ring at the store. You no longer have to settle for that three stone ring at the
store. You can now custom your own jewelry. If you wanted to add filigree, if you wanted to add,
you know, maybe just a blue sapphire on the left, an emerald on the right, and maybe a diamond in
the center, you could definitely do that through the custom process. But what have I told you?
In today's world, you can custom cut not just jewelry, but you can custom cut gemstones,
meaning you can custom everything from the beginning to end as long as it is manufacturable.
And here today at Fire & Brilliance, what I want to tell you is that you can definitely do that.
We've been working on this project for many years, and I want to let you know that not only can you
custom jewelry with Fire & Brilliance, but you can custom cut gemstones with us. It doesn't matter if
you want it in sapphire, emeralds, rubies, alexandrites. It doesn't matter if you want it in blues, greens,
purples, or yellows. It doesn't matter if you want it in all different shapes and sizes. You can do
it today. So let me go ahead and give you the quick rundown. And if you stay until the end of this
episode, I want to show you a few of our own custom cut gemstones here at Fire & Brilliance.
Because if you're interested, you can actually place a pre-order on the gemstones. We only have
a handful right now that's in production. And if you want to grab it first, you got to let us know.
Okay, so that being said, what do I mean by traditional shapes? For the longest time, most
people basically have to choose from traditional shapes. You know, the rounds, the ovals,
the cushions, the radians, the marquee, the pears, the hearts. These are more of the traditional
shapes. Even the princess, right? So it's a brilliant cut square shape, which is a princess
cut. So if I miss one of your traditional shapes, I do apologize. I know there's quite a few more,
but you get the idea. Those are the traditional shapes and what most people would actually
choose from. Those are the shapes. What about the cuts? The cuts is more of the brilliant cuts,
which maximizes the sparkle of any gemstone. The step cut, which is more of a simplified cut
that's more symmetrical from end to end, such as what you see in the emerald cut or an asher cut.
When you look through a step cut, it looks as if you're walking down a stairway or looking through
a reflecting mirror, right? That's what a step cut is. Or more of the vintage cut from a century or
two ago, such as the old European cut, such as the antique cushion cut, or such as the rose cut.
These cuts have more larger facets, right? The faceting is larger. It's more simplified than
the modern brilliant cut. But that's not what I'm talking about here. These are all cuts that have
been created in yesteryear and what people have been choosing for many decades to centuries,
right? What I'm talking about today is your own unique cut. Meaning if you are creative enough,
you can have your own unique cut. And that is possible, again, as long as it is manufacturable.
You can't just come up with anything and everything and expect that it's possible to be
cut. It can be as long as you are creative enough. And that being said, what I'm trying to tell you
is in today's world, here at Fire Embrilliance, we can not only custom your jewelry, but custom cut
your gemstones so that everything about that piece is unique to you, okay? Here are a few
examples of what is possible. So I had showed you this earlier, this gemstone here. If you take a
look at here, what this is, is a padparadscha colored sapphire. And if you don't know what a
padparadscha is, make sure you check out the video in the link above. I went over a padparadscha a
couple of weeks ago, maybe a couple of months ago. It is a orangey pink or pinkish orangey
sapphire color. Beautiful stone. The color is just gorgeous. And do you know what this cut is?
It's not the rose cut of yesteryear where the facets are large. This is indeed a modern rose
cut. And what I mean by that is you take a look at the stone, doesn't it look like the top view
of a rose after it has bloomed in a beautiful sunny day, right? Isn't that just stunning? And
now if you don't like the color of a padparadscha, I mean you don't have to settle for that, right?
Because in today's world with the magical ability of lab-grown sapphires, you have the option
to choose different colors. What have you preferred? More of a minty green sapphire.
Isn't that just stunning? That's the same cut, guys. That's the same cut, ladies and gentlemen.
That's a rose cut. Now what do you think? Why don't you leave in the comment section below.
Do you like that rose cut? Would you rock this in earrings? Would you rock this on a pendant?
Would you put this on an engagement ring? Now if you don't like that color, now look at that.
What if you wanted a rose to actually look like a rose, a beautiful pink rose? Look at that. I mean
this is definitely a rose cut, but the color is in a pink sapphire, lab-grown pink sapphire.
Isn't that just stunning? So that's only one of the cuts here. Let me go ahead and show you
another gorgeous cut. This one here is a lavender purple sapphire, but the cut is more of a custom
cut. It's not a typical brilliant cut, nor is it a step cut. It looks very close to that of an ice
cut, but it's much more busy than the ice cut. Can you tell? It almost looks as if it's shattered
glass, but in a very organized, beautiful way. And what have I told you? There's some different
other type of cut. Do you like kite shapes, but you don't want it in a brilliant cut? And you
don't want it in a step cut? Well look at this. Look at this fancy type of cutting technique.
When you look through the gemstone, do you see those lines? Isn't that just stunning? This is
what you can do today. These are all custom cut gemstones. You can make it unique to yourself,
the way you like it. And if you don't like kite shapes, here's one last thing that I want to show
you where the sky's the limit and what's possible. If you take a look at this, I'm going to put it
right at my eyeball. And the reason why I say that is because look at this. What does that look like
to you? Does that look like the shape of an eye? It's just stunning. Look at the faceting. Look at
the cutting technique. It's a little creepy, but also really, really stunning. Imagine wearing
these on earrings and dangling earrings. Imagine putting this on a pendant. Imagine wearing this
on a ring. Isn't that just stunning? This is also a paparazzo, by the way. So what do you think?
Do you believe now that the sky's the limit in terms of custom cutting? So these are only a few
