This was a part of our 10 Day vacation in which we did the Washakie. On our 10 Day vacation only 3 Days in total involved decent weather, the other 7 involved at least a 7 hour thunderstorm / torrential rain (that was the least bad day). There are videos from the week of our trip of popular climbing / cliff routes near Cody, WY of monsoon flood waters pouring off the ledges like Zion NP sees in monsoon season. Maybe next year we will get a better weather window for vacation.

Having some very good wildflower bloom right now. I think the current idea is to get up into that
and then uh might walk the ridge or we might camp just camp there then walk the ridge without the
pack and continue contouring. Breeze feels amazing. All right now that Lacey and I are up here we're
gonna start walking it and see if we can find a pretty cool camp spot. Those clouds are concerning
but I don't think they're coming over. They're getting blown off to the east pretty quickly
and doesn't seem to be any dangerous looking clouds coming this way so all's good in the
neighborhood. Here's a I think it's Shelf Lake. Moon Lake's down there. I have a video
382 niter trip in that area. Really pretty. Good fishing. A little rain cloud moved on.
Slight rainbow right there. Hard to see. We got water. Lacey and I are probably gonna cut through
the snow there and camp on that ridge there so we have a clear view of sunset. Start cracking beers.
Lacey and I got around the snow field. Not sure where these clouds came from.
It's pretty bad out that way. I can't tell if it's smoke or clouds. Hopefully it doesn't come this way.
All right Lacey and I are gonna start looking for a spot to camp. I'm looking to nestle in between some big
boulders for cover too. Yeah here we go. Let's look for a camp. Well we're all set up now we're just
waiting for the light show. Good sunset. There have been a few lighting strikes over there but
it looks like it's going away from us. Partly cloudy past this storm. Unfortunately had to pull the time lapse.
I don't know what that's doing out there. It sucks because I might miss a good time lapse of the sunset
but I also don't want the rain to destroy the camera if it does come this way. The storm has hit Lacey and I.
We're getting some good colors. I want my hair pad up a bit so I'm off the ground.
Never in the storm. Not in the rain with my rain gear. Lacey held this up for me and I tightened that
out more and I double staked it so we can't open that right now and I pulled that out more and
seems to help a lot and the storm is uh getting towards the end. We're still gonna get a probably
ran a big gust or two. It ain't over yet. Hey good morning we're all packed up. Have our packs sitting
here with the green rain fly on so we don't lose them. We're gonna get one more summit in before we
head on out. We made it back down. At least now we're headed that way. We camped pretty much somewhere up
there. There's Heart Lake. Came down this way. Crossed its outlet. Instead of going high in those meadows
we're gonna cut through the middle lakes up through this way. All right got to these lakes.
We're gonna drop down to that lake. Go this way. There's another lake further down. We're gonna
drop down to that one and then go that way. Lacey and I can now see the road. We're almost back to
the trail. That's the uh little pass we went up yesterday. Almost back to the trail.
