Hey friends, I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I have some questions to answer today regarding
my recent One Shopping Rule video that I did. Videos, I had to split it, and it seems like
you guys really liked that. So I will answer those today. All right, Annie Kan says, uh,
can you please, uh, say, send the link to the site in India that you get your dresses from? Thanks.
It's eshakti.com, E-S-H-A-K-T-I, and I will put that link down below. I had a couple of you ask
that, and I replied to it, but just for anyone else that did not think to, um, write a comment
and was wondering. All right, uh, Bay32B says, I seriously love you, BG. Thanks. Um, I know I've
said it before, but I can't tell you how much you inspire me, girl. I love this video. Side note,
you look super pretty in this vid too. Come on, y'all. Uh, wanted to ask, here's a question,
uh, I like the hangers you had in your closet. Do you remember where you got them or the brand?
Uh, those are super cheapy Walmart plastic black hangers. I do not know if in the video
they looked like they were maybe the super nice little velvet ones, which I've always liked,
or the wood hangers, which I've always liked, but, uh, no. At this stage in my life, I am a
plastic hanger girl. The 10 for a dollar, uh, Walmart plastic hanger girl. One day I will
upgrade, but, um, that will be a day when I am out of debt, and I have, um, I can spend money
on things like hangers that, uh, yeah, they all match, and that's, honestly, that's more than I
need. So, uh, but I'm glad you like them. Uh, TSD says, where are your fourth pair of shoes? They're
I have a little pair of white sandals, uh, because I mentioned I have four pairs of shoes,
and I showed three in the video, so I have a little pair of white sandals, uh, that are from
Walmart, actually, uh, but it's, uh, Earth Shoes, I think, that my sister-in-law bought me a couple
years ago that I wear with a lot of dresses. All right, uh, Lynn Crowder says, hi, you have really
nice dresses. Do you dry cleave them or can you wash them? If you wash them, please let me know
how. Also, can you do a segment on doing laundry on a budget? Um, I do not dry clean anything,
because dry cleaning is super expensive. So, I actually, that's one of my rules that I probably
should have mentioned. I buy nothing that has to be dry cleaned, nothing. I do not dry clean
anything at all. Um, I dry cleaned a comforter once that was down in college, and it was like
20-something dollars, and I just decided to never purchase anything that needed to be dry
cleaned again. Now, I do know they have those, like, Dryel things, uh, where you can dry clean
in your washer or dryer, and if you have the type of clothes that need to be dry cleaned like that,
that might be a good option. I've heard that works really well, actually. My, my mom used to use that,
uh, but I just don't buy things that need to be dry cleaned or need to be ironed,
because I'm lazy and cheap, um, and I refuse to judge myself for it. Uh, I wash them
in the washer, since you're asking how I wash them. Um, I do not have my own washer and dryer.
I go to the laundromat every other week. So, um, yeah, my clothes probably expire a little faster
than, uh, normal people's. Um, don't know I do take care of them, but washer-wise,
I actually don't really separate by color. Most of my dresses have, like, patterns
on them, or, um, they're just cotton, most of them, and I just throw them all in there. I'm,
in fact, you know, I usually have either two or three loads every two weeks. Um, one is, like,
dishrags and, like, nasty stuff, um, cleaning towels, and I, I, I'm smart enough to separate
that from my normal clothes, but other than that, I don't separate colors or anything like that.
The only, like, straight-up white things that I have, I have a couple of workout tanks
that are white and a couple of undershirts that are white, and I have not seen an issue
in discoloration or anything like that. Washing them with all of my normal clothes,
um, I just throw all of them in one thing, and then a third for, like, bedding and, you know,
a few more clothes if I need to. So, I don't do anything special to my clothes at all. In fact,
I probably do less than most people do, um, but I'm cheap, and, you know, if you own your
own washer and dryer, you can kind of afford to separate out as many loads as you want to
do that, um, but I, there's only one setting on the washing machine at, um, the laundromat,
and it's just permanent press, and so I just throw them all in there, and there's, I don't
wash them on hot or cold or anything. It just, um, and the more loads I do there, the more expensive
it is. So, um, as for doing laundry on a budget, uh, don't separate your clothes.
Throw them all in there together, um, and then, but don't dry the nicer pieces. Like, I never dry
my bras or anything like that. I'll bring stuff home and hang it on the line dryer, uh, the stand
dryer thing I have. Okay, um, Anthony Bonner says, question, do you use quality detergent
to help clothes last longer, or do you feel the budget brands do the same job without fading
clothes? Um, I have been using All Small and Mighty for probably five years now, and I started using
them because they had, like, the concentrate, I think they were the first to come out with that
super concentrated thing, and so it was just, like, a little, you know, a little bigger than,
like, this bottle, um, that wasn't a giant jug that I had to carry, and because I'm lazy,
I bought that, and it just so happens that the little All Small and Mighty bottle holds 52,
um, servings, 52 loads of laundry, which just happens to be about how many loads of laundry
I do every year, um, because I go every two weeks, and I have about two loads usually,
um, three occasionally. I might, you know, run out a month early, but I've found I, I just use
that because it's, it's concentrated, so I'm not paying for water. It's about five dollars for a
bottle, and it lasts me a year, which is why I've never jumped on the make your own laundry
detergent train. It's just me. Now, I completely understand why people with huge families would
need to find ways to save on laundry detergent, but for me, five dollars a year is kind of a
negligible work cost. Um, it would take more in my time to try to, more than it's worth for my time
to try to figure out something different to do with it. As for, like, budget brand laundry
detergents, I did try, um, a bottle of, like, the Dollar Tree kind once, I think, when I was, uh,
visiting someone or on vacation, not on vacation, I never go on vacation, um, visiting someone,
or I was somewhere, and I needed something real fast, and it was just watery. It was all water,
and so I was paying a dollar for what was, like, two loads worth of detergent, which,
it just seemed like the, the little bottle of the concentrated cleaner was better for that. Now,
if you can find a concentrated cleaner that isn't all water for cheaper, I'd totally use an off-brand,
but for five dollars a year, it just hasn't really been an issue. That's something that I've had to
address budget-wise. So, yeah, that's what I used. Um, it's, uh, now, I do know that I, when I was,
uh, one place I lived, they had the HE washers and dryers in Columbus, and, uh, the owner of the place
was very adamant that we used, like, the HE, um, laundry detergent, and that was also, it was on
there, so I just, yeah, it works. It works fine. My clothes smell fine. Okay, um, and, or Brandy in
Georgia says, uh, are you rewarding yourself when you get to $15,000 in debt? Yes, and I'll tell
you about it very soon. I'm very excited. Very soon. Upcoming video. Okay, um, she also said,
however, I'm pretty sure you said your next reward is for $10,000. There is a $10,000 reward coming.
I planned that at the very beginning. I was going to get a Roomba, or a similar brand to a Roomba,
not necessarily, like, an off-brand of a Roomba, but another, like, Roomba-type thing, uh, when I
hit $10,000 because I hate vacuuming, and there was a lot of talk on that on my comment section,
which is interesting. I found that some people really love Roombas and really hate Roombas.
Um, probably still gonna try it, but thank you. I love hearing your experiences with those things,
but yeah, I'm doing that for $10,000, and I'm doing something else for $15,000 slash, um,
my midpoint. I'm, I'm halfway done with paying off my debt right now, so that's, I don't expect.
Okay, all righty. Um, Scastle05 says, uh, can you do a budget fashion video and or a closet tour?
I love your style. I will definitely consider doing that. Um, anyone else want to see that?
Because I can put on a little fashion show. That sounds like fun.
Um, yeah, let me know if y'all want me to do that. I will, I will consider it. That's,
that sounds kind of like fun. I am, um, I have been working on filming another kind of,
like, when to spend quality versus quality, uh, clothing and household items and stuff like that,
and I, I think just because you guys liked this, uh, past my one shopping rule video,
which basically went over how to save money on your wardrobe, uh, which I will link below if you
haven't seen it, uh, and you guys seem to like that, that you might like this upcoming video
as well. It's a little bit more expansive, so. All right, and, uh, ItsMeKat says, uh,
did you hear Walmart is going to stop price matching? I did. Um, and I have looked into
that and I've researched that, and probably 15 of y'all have commented this on my channel because
you know that's how I save my money doing groceries. I use a program called Veal's Meals,
and it assembles all of the local ads, and it allows me to price match and do my meal planning
in about five minutes. I will link a video I did on that below as well. Um, so, yeah, I, I'm not
thrilled about that. However, I can't say I didn't really see it coming. Um, it was an excellent
thing. It, it, it's an excellent promotional thing that Walmart did saying we'll price match
anywhere because it's basically saying why would you shop literally anywhere else if you can
absolutely get the lowest deals here? And I think anyone who was thinking that they would do this
forever is a little naive. Um, I'm not saying I wasn't hoping, but I could see it coming. Now,
the official, um, press releases from Walmart all say that they are not officially ending
price matching everywhere. They have no plans to end price matching any, everywhere, but I think
that's baloney. They're starting with a rollout of 500 stores that will end price matching,
and you won't know what the stores are until you go in one day and you see the signs on the
register saying the store is no longer doing price matching. Um, the deal is, is that they
want you to use the Walmart Savings Catcher. I don't like the Savings Catcher. I don't think
it catches nearly anything. Um, because I, I used it for a while and it didn't catch me any money.
Now, I've heard from some of you guys that it's caught you money, and that's fantastic. Um, and
maybe they'll continue to improve it. But, um, it hasn't caught anything for me, and I know it's
missing stuff. So, it seems kind of silly to scan my receipt and then do all that when it's not
netting me anything, which is why I prefer price matching. Um, as far as my plans for price
matching, I am going to price match like crazy until my Walmart shuts it down. I will continue
using Geels to Meals, and I will continue price matching until I can't price match no more,
and then I'll have to figure out something else to do. Now, Walmart does say that they
are planning on lowering prices overall, um, instead of, instead of doing the price matching
anymore. But, once again, that's taking the control out of the consumer's hands and putting
it into Walmart's and just saying, no, no, no. Trust us. Trust us. We got you. We got you. We'll,
um, we promise these are the best prices anywhere. You don't have to check. Just like with the
savings catcher. No, no, no. If it's, if there's a better deal anywhere, we'll, we'll give it to you.
Don't, don't worry about it. I'm not a trusting person. Um, but yeah, I have heard they're going
to stop price matching. It's very sad. I'm going to continue price matching until my Walmart shuts
it down, um, and then we're going to figure out something else to do, okay? And when I do, I'm
going to share it with y'all. So, uh, yeah, if you haven't jumped on the price matching train, um, it's not
too late. Go out and get those deals until you can't get those deals no more. I get country
sometimes. Sorry about that. Okie dokie. Um, let's see. I do have some congratulations.
All right. Sunny Morgan says, thank God for an emergency fund. My radiator has to be replaced.
I found out today. Thankfully, I have the money. Sunny, I'm so excited for you and I wanted to make
sure to congratulate you on this because being able to avoid a money emergency is just as big
of a deal as, you know, meeting some giant goal. It's, you've sidestepped Murphy. You sidestepped
something that would have off-tracked your life for a little while, but because you had your
emergency fund, because you had already made those strides to get your financial life in order, you're
able to just deal with it and move on. And I know how good that feels because I've been in that
situation. And once you are able to just be like, oh, well, this expensive thing went wrong, but I
can just take care of it and continue on with my life without having to do anything else. You will
never go back to the other way. So congratulations, Sunny. I am so happy you had your emergency fund
in place to take care of this, get it refunded super fast. Okie dokie. Living Weird
said, great video, BG. We paid off another debt and it feels awesome. I bet it does. Congrats,
Living Weird. Okie dokie. Amber Jones says, my baby emergency fund came in very handy for me
a few months ago when I got, went to get the inspection on my car renewed. The mechanic said
he could not renew my inspection until I replaced my tires. They were below the thread threshold,
so I had to spend $650 to replace all my car tires. And funny story, I went to pay for the
tires and on reflex, I first pulled out a credit card and then thought, wait, I have my thousand
dollars in my emergency fund. So I paid for those new tires without buying on credit. The baby
emergency fund is so important. Amber, yay! You've submitted questions before and told me your money
situation. We've talked about it on this channel and I'm just so excited for you. I'm also wondering
whether there's still credit cards in your wallet. You don't need those anymore, friend. You don't.
But I am so glad you were able to take care of this money emergency without having to reach for
credit. And hopefully you'll refill that and just, and it won't be a reflex anymore to buy on credit
because you don't need it anymore. You can buy it with your money. So good job for you. And maybe,
maybe take a credit card out of your wallet. Okie dokie. And Alexa Donovan says, hey BG, and this
is on Facebook. I just did my debt-free happy dance when I paid off my student loan and thus
eliminated my debt. Yay! I have been following your channel for a while and it has helped me
with the motivation and made things a little more fun. So thanks for that. Congratulations,
Alexa, on being debt-free. Yay! You don't have to hide all around. Rory's even excited for you. She
started jumping around. Um, I'm so excited for you and I can't wait to be where you are. Super
jealous. Um, you're going to have an amazing life now that you have no debt and you can do what you
want with your money. Yay! Okay, I'm dancing for you too. Alright, as always, ask your money
questions below and tell me your money wins because I want to celebrate with you. So,
questions down below, congrats down below, and I will see you all next week. Bye.
That just makes me hyper or something. There's no sugar in it.
I promise. It's diet cranberry. No sugar, but I'm like...
