Today is a day about celebration. The 85th anniversary of Jeep.
And there's no better place to represent that than here in Toledo.
This is where it all began and where it continues today.
Generations of families have worked on this plant.
Today marks 85 years. A lot.
But more than that, we are celebrating what Jeep represents across our plants, our people, and many generations.
During World War II, American soldiers lived with my family in Sicily.
And they brought with them a wheelless Jeep that they used for the several years they spent with us.
I started my life looking at the wheelless on the gravel, and I came here leading the most important Jeep plant we have.
For me, it was kind of the destiny of my life.
I want to thank you for everything you do, for everything you did, but most important, for everything you will do.
Because the future of this plant will be bright, and that is built on your reliability.
For 85 years, Jeep truly inspired us and inspired generations.
Since World War II, when Jeep was helping, supporting the American troops to win that war, that was not an easy war to win, for sure.
Until the days of today, where Jeep really represents the icon of American off-road.
We will invest in the next years $400 million to fully renovate Jeep Wrangler, to fully renovate Jeep Gladiator,
and to have the all-new Ram Dakota, together with those two beautiful cars, to make production in Toledo.
