This is the ultimate Cluj-Napoca food tour, exploring one of Romania’s most exciting cities through its food, history, and local culture. I’m eating everything from traditional Romanian food at Vărzărie and smoky Romanian BBQ to the massive Cluj food festival, where we try Greek loukoumades, chimney cake, Italian arrosticini, Chinese noodles, Indian onion bhaji, Romanian sweets, and much more.

But Cluj is about far more than food. We’re exploring the city’s Orthodox churches, St. Michael’s Church, the National Theatre, Central Park Simion Bărnuțiu, local beer gardens, coffee culture, and the social life that gives this Transylvanian city so much energy. Along the way, we learn about Romania’s communist past, historic figures like Michael the Brave, and the stories behind some of Cluj’s most important landmarks.

Most importantly, I’m talking with locals to understand what makes Cluj-Napoca such a special place to live, eat, and explore. This is Romanian food, street food, coffee, history, nightlife, architecture, local people, and Transylvanian culture all in one adventure.
